Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Emera that's good that your work are been helpful, rightly so since they messed up :haha: I love f1 too, thoughj o missed everything this weekend :dohh:

Modo that happens to me ALL the time! :dohh:

Maybe what's a bus??? :haha: I can walk into town but I do it all the time, it gets pretty boring :dohh:

Well Oliver and I have had such a lovely afternoon! We walked to the park and had a picnic, and met one of our mummy friends with her little boy. It was fab! We had a picnic, had a walk around, went for a coffee, it was so nice! It was lovely to be in the fresh air all afternoon, the weather is so nice :)

What did everyone else do re the clocks changing? I've kept Oliver on the 'old' times, so basically knocked everything back by an hour, and I'm thinking I'll just slowly adjust to the new times? I'm not sure if its a good idea or not though :haha:

sarah i am letting them go to bed at 8.30 instead of 8 for a few days and on wednesday i'm going to pull it back to 8pm or at least 8.15pm and then 8 by the weekend. it's almost 8 so i'm letting them play a bit longer to work off the last of the energy and then it'll be bed and story for erin and dylan and boobie and buggy for owen (danny has promised to get me the cot tomorrow)

i have just ordered this for owen's birthday instead of the ELC one i originally posted the other day seeing that they may not even bring it here to gib. actually i like this one better, it's a bargain price and free delivery to gib

maybe - Emily had the same thing with teeth and the dentist said to just leave it so hopefully Dylan wont need his out. Holly now has two teeth where the adult tooth is coming through on top so I call her my little shark. The wheelybug looks like so much fun

sarah - :hugs: I hate taking my car to the garage, I feel like they think ooh a woman, lets rip her off. I hope you had a nice walk. Can you ask your Dad with some help with the car? :flower:

emera - poor you, 10.30am sounds lovely though, you must have both really needed it!

modo :grr: to deleting posts, so frustrating! Hope you and Bobby are ok xxx

We had another bad night last night, I think i had a couple of hours sleep in the end. Poor Alex kept coughing every time I lay him down. He's lovely in the day though, all cheeky and smiley! I just look like a miserable corpse :haha:

lol amy i'm sure you dont look like a corpse :haha: thanks for the info about teeth, it makes me feel a bit more hopeful. he'll have a fit if he needs the baby teeth pulled

watching OBEM and it's so sad seeing little sick babies. am so grateful that i had big healthy babies!

Amy poor Alex . . . . or should that be poor mummy? :haha: Some nights when Oliver is up all night, I wonder if he's actually awake or just half asleep and moaning / coughing etc, because in the daytime he's as bright as a button :dohh:

I'm watching One Born Evey Minute . . . . its so sad tonight  Poorly babies make me

I could ask my dad to help with the car, they have a land rover repair place near them and if Steve doesn't sort it out in the next week or so and take it to his garage, I'm going to get dad to take it in to the one near them. I'm like you, I think if I take it anywhere they are going to rip me off so I'd sooner Steve or my Dad took it in.

Steve has been really nasty about my Dad lately which really upset me. Dad always wants to be helpful and help out with stuff, and him and Mum have done SO much for us. Steve never wants Dad to help with anything - which I kind of understand because he'd sooner just get on with it himself, and I think the way Steve does things and the way Dad does things are very different, which is fair enough - and Dad can be a bit annoying :haha: But Mum and Dad came up at the weekend and Dad was out with Steve in the garden, seeing what he was doing, and he fetched a few buckets of water and tried to help out a bit. Steve was perfectly polite to him and everything but then later on he was saying that dad had added too much water to the cement or something, and a few things like that - tiny, tiny things but he was going on and on about it until I said to him do you think he did it to annoy you? Or to ruin what you were doing? Or do you think he was trying to help but might just do things in a different way to you? He was only trying to help :( I would never say something like that about Steve's mum. I might think it, but there is no way I would ever say something like that to Steve. If she was helping me and I didn't want her help, I might ask her to do something else that would help me out instead, like put the kettle on, but I wouldn't just sit there and go on about it. And god if I did Steve would go MAD! It really upset me and I think Steve realised. It's made me feel funny about asking Dad for help with things, because if it then goes wrong, I don't want Steve to blame Dad. Like saying that my car is a shed, well it was my Dad who found the car in the first place and had a look and thought it was fine (but Steve looked at it too and also thought it was fine). I just feel like Steve is been really quite rude and very, very ungrateful, which really pisses me off tbh :dohh:

I feel better for getting that off my chest! Just lately I feel like things with Steve aren't great. I wonder if it's going to just get better, or come to a head and really kick off. I'm just not sure. I find it impossible to talk to him, because he just gets defensive. But I'm really not sure where things are going at the moment

amy i know this sounds really mad but vicks on the soles of the baby's feet is supposed to help a cough  worth a try maybe. it cant hurt :haha:

aww sarah - :hugs::hugs: your Dad sounds lovely, really supportive and helpful. Kerry has occasionally said derogatory things about my parents and I hate it! Its really hurtful as my parents have done loads to help us. I dont think they realise how insensitive it is.

I hope you are OK :flower:, I have the same fears with Kerry. We're just two people living in a house, we've got more and more distant and I dont know how to make it any better because he is defensive like Steve.

sarah parenthood is a huge adjustment. i'm sure things with steve will settle down. maybe he didnt realise what he said about your dad was hurtful to you. danny's always going on about my mum pandering to the kids :which she does but i think it is coz she never had her mum alive when she had us) but i know he does appreciate all the childcare my mum provides. plus he also rants about my mil too :haha:

its so easy to grow apart as a couple isnt it? we keep saying we're going to go out for dinner just the two of us and then it never happens :dohh:

amy my mil is obsessed with vicks! danny has inherited the obsession and this winter just kept on covering himself in it coz it made himself feel nice and soothed him :rofl::rofl:

Thanks ladies :hugs: I think you're right, he doesn't realise what he's saying sometimes. Stoopid :haha: MEN :grr: I'm sure things will work out between us, everything is going so well for us at the moment and we still have some really, really good times, and we don't argue. We just piss each other off I think :haha:

Steve just got home from work and he's somehow hurt a muscle in his leg, he's hobbling around nothing I've seen before   I just slapped a heat pad onto it and gave him some ibuprofen . . . . I did have a good laugh at him trying to take his shoes off too though   God maybe I'm just a bad wife :haha:

Oh, and Maybe, I LOVE the wheelybug!! So cute!!

maybe - :haha: Danny covered head to toe in vicks :haha: you're so right, its far too easy to grow apart!!

sarah - I'm glad Steve's got you laughing tonight, even if its just at him :winkwink::haha:

sarah - danny twisted his ankle playing paddle tennis today. apparently he was able to finish and win the match but couldnt walk when he got home!

owen just fell out of bed  i went to see dylan who started crying (nothing was wrong though he said :dohh: ) and then there was a crack and a wail and i found owen face up on the tiled floor. he'd rolled over off the side i sleep on. felt so bad :nope: he's back asleep now

Maybe there must be something in he air because Oliver just fell out of bed too :( :dohh: I was talking to Steve in the kitchen and we heard a thud followed by a scream :( We dashed upstairs and Oliver had rolled out of our bed, on the side without the cot. He cried for a bit but he's fine and back asleep now, poor thing :(

aww sarah sorry to hear oliver suffered a fall too! our poor babies. i know these things happen but it diesnt make it any easier!

took dylan to the dentist, he says the baby tooth will fall out and then the adult tooth will come forward so no need to do anything  later i need to go for some blood test results from a blood test taken a month ago (they didnt have any earlier appointments before today  ) and then dylan has a party in a soft play place. my mum is coming to look after owen and erin to help danny out. he's currently in bed with his swollen ankle :dohh: men! it's his own fault for carrying on playing after hurting it but we suffer the consequences :dohh:

ok off to do some chores. have made a tikka marinade for chicken tonight for dinner! Yum :D made it with low fat yogurt but it has olive oil in it so not too diet friendly! also will have to see if i can resist :cake: at the kiddy party later :munch: :haha:

erin was undressing her barbie doll and said 'look mummy she has boobies like you!' :haha: 'she has big boobies like you and i have little boobies' :haha: i didnt have the heart to tell her that my boobies are anything but big at 36B (and that's when bf, usually they're an A!)

Sarah: I am very much benefiting from the time change. Bobby is now waking up at 7am instead of 6. He is having all his naps at the new time but goes to bed for the night at the old time. So he sleeps at 6.15-6.30pm and wakes at 7am :happydance: I really hope this continues! Just ask your Dad hon, you have been waiting for Steve to do it for ages. I think you have been more than reasonable. Just do it :hugs: It really doesn't seem fair of Steve to make comments about your Dad like that! It's not on :( Can you get your parents to babysit Oliver so you and Steve can do something as a couple? My sis is going to babysit Bobby while Ben and I go out and run some errands and she will put him down to sleep when we go to the movies later. We went to dinner at Nandos and the movies of Wednesday for the first time in four months. It was lovely!

Maybe: That's so cute! I have seen a ladybug one and they seem really good  I had the same thing with my teeth as Dylan. My permanent teeth seemed quite big for my mouth as child and I got four teeth removed before getting braces when I was 12. The braces fixed the top teeth and they are all pretty straight now. I don't know if they do things differently now. I am going to watch the OBEM episode as soon as Ben goes up at 7pm. He can't stand it  My mother was also obessed with vicks. She also used to soak olive oil into kitchen towels and put them on our chests overnight when we had coughs (she would use clingfilm to keep them on). I think it must be an Arabic thing. Sorry Owen fell out of bed Maybe :hugs: Bobby rolled off the bed once when Ben was watching him. I am sure it happened to us all :hugs: Bless Erin

Amy: Hope Alex feels better soon hon :hugs: and you both get more sleep :hugs:

modo - i'd love a night out! if i get the job we're going to go to the indian in spain to celebrate  danny hates OBEM too. i only got to watch it coz he had fallen asleep! :haha:
