Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Insomnimama and Amy I really hope you guys find new jobs soon :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

I'm need coffee, Oliver is teething like mad, all night he kept sobbing in his sleep, then when I was trying to stop him from crying with cuddles etc he woud wake up :dohh: So I didn't get a great night, and I went to bed with a huge headache which is still there :dohh: Oh well, I'll be fine after a nice breakfast :)

I'm not sure what we're doing today, if the weather is okay I think Steve will do some more of the garden. I think I need to buy an overlocker, my sewing machine is great but I could do with a overlocker. They are just so expensive, and I don't know how much my car is going to cost yet. So I think that one will have to wait, I quite fancied going to have a look at a few but I'll only end up buying one, and I shouldn't really be spending my savings.

Right - coffee, hope you are all okay!!

X

sarah - what's an overlocker? hope oliver's teeth pop out soon!

amy and insomnimama - hope that you both find jobs soon! :hugs:

owen is poorly with the chickenpox and my MIL has just called me from school (she works at the school dylan goes to) to tell me that dylan's not feeling well so i think he may be coming down with the pox too :dohh: it's not going to be a pretty next few days :nope:

Oh maybe-bless you, it's hard enough having one poorly baby, hugs x x
Sarahwoo-poor Oliver with his teeth, hope you get some good strong coffee!
Amy-good to 'see' you too!! I didn't realise you lived so close!
Insomni and Amy - good luck with job hunting. Is there any other way you could earn some cash to keep you going I.e taking in short stay students, selling Avon etc. I know the pay isn't so good, but it may help with some bills!
Anyone else-hi! Sorry if I have missed you but I'm on my phone x x

Hey all -

Sorry for being missing for so long ... we ended up disappering down south last week for a break which was lovely but internet has been playing up since we got back! I will try and catch up properly but Amy is a grump today ... have managed to get her down for a nap ut have no idea how long she will snooze for!

Well I have been off weight watchers for 4 weeks and stuffed my face but I am going to face it tonight and go and get weighed ... I know I have put on but hopefully this weigh in will kick start me in the right direction as its not that long till the wedding and I wanted to be at goal by then!

Hope your all ok. x x x

Maybe an overlocker is a bit like a sewing machine, but it locks over the edge of fabric (as well as over stuff) so its ideal for finishing of my chair bows etc. But they start at about two hundred quid and they are apparently quite tricky to use so its best to buy one from somewhere that you can get a demo, rather than picking one up second hand on ebay. I'll just have to manage with my sewing machine for now.

My headache has gone - Oliver napped from 9 until about half ten so I put him back in bed with Steve and had a shower etc :haha: We went and did the supermarket shop, and Steve has been doing the garden.

My car is apparently fixed!!!! :happydance: I don't know how much the bill is yet though so fingers crossed!!!

Oh, and I have made an appointment to view the private school that we would like Oliver to go to, we're going to look around next Thursday morning :) I'm really looking forward to it!

Right, I'm off to make tea!

sarah - yey for the car, headache going and private school visit

h&f - bet you not put on any weight! glad you had a nice break!

dylan seems ok but i'm convinced he's incubating the chickenpox in time for the hols next week :dohh: owen is up and down and now is tired but fighting it. we're watching charlie and the chocolate factory now before bedtime. then danny, paula (my sil) and i are going to get chinese:munch:

I put on 4.5lbs! whoops ... right back on track 19 weeks to lose about 26lbs.

insomnimama - what a nightmare, I really hope you find something soon. what do you do? :hugs:

sarah - great news your car is fixed, hope it didnt cost toooo much! yey for the private school viewing  I hope Oliver pops his next tooth soon. Alex seems stuck at 6 :haha:

Mork - I got a bit disheartened with the whole job searching thing, applying for loads and hearing nothing got so depressing I havent applied for a while but now i am going to just apply for anything! did you say you are going to be a childminder?

maybe - eek poor you. I hope Dylan is Ok. I know c.pox has a 2 week incubation period. oooooo yummy I really want chinese now :munch:

H&F - welcome back :hugs: 4.5lbs isnt bad at all! I can easily put that on in a day! Love your latest fb pics - you're looking fab anyway x

brrrr its so cold here now. I was drying holly's hair earlier and ended up blow-drying my legs to keep warm :haha: Alex woke in the night and he was a little ice cube1 such a shame it was the best night we'd had in ages. it was the only time he woke! means I am most likely in for a stinker of a night tonight

Oh no, hope he suprises you and you get a good night!
Yes, I am looking into childminding, its not great money for one, but it will keep us ticking over until T goes to school - we would rather struggle till then than put her into childcare and that means i will be able to be with her all day every day, but I am still in negotiations with work so its all dependent upon that!
H&F I am sure you will lose the 4.5lbs very quickly
xxx

Evening!

H&F - 4.5lb isn't bad at all for a while month off the wagon, and at the rate you've been going 26lb in 19 weeks is very realistic  You look fab in your new fb pictures, the difference is amazing! I'm quite jealous, i've lost 10kg, and i look exactly the same :dohh: I've only dropped one dress size, what the heck is with that? I reckon its all come off my boobs, sad little things that they are now :nope:

Sarah - Glad your car is fixed  and yay for the viewing, i hope you like it :)

Maybe - Poor you, i hope your boys recover quickly :hugs: On the plus side, once its done its done  I know they can get it more than once, but i hear if they catch it again then its much milder

Amy and Insomnimama - Good luck with the continuing job hunting :hugs: I know how you both feel, but try not to get too disheartened, something will come up for you both soon, i'm sure! :hugs: Sending lots of positive vibes for you both!

Mork - Hi! :hi:

Yay, my Ergo arrived today! :happydance: I was talking to my mum about it over the weekend, and she was tutting at me struggling with the carrier i have now (it takes alot of adjusting i find when i carry Roh on my back, on the front is easy, but he's too heavy for that now) Anyway, she called yesterday to say she'd ordered me an Ergo from Amazon and it would be delivered today! They are £85 on Amazon, i can't believe she just bought me one like that  Anyway, she said "well its not for you, its for Roh so he can be more comfy" :haha: I'm dead chuffed, its so nice and comfy  I hope the rain stops tomorrow so we can go for a walk with it!
I've been sitting here making a bandana for Roh, as we don't have a summer hat for him, and i figured a bandana would do the trick for now. I can't be bothered to set my sewing machine up though, so i'm stitching it by hand. I thought it would be nice for him to not have to wear a muslin on his head all summer :haha: What do you all think, will it do? I figured the most important thing is to keep the strong sun off his head, although maybe something with a brim would be better to keep it off his face too? Thoughts please! I could always make him a sunhat, but then i think i would have to get the machine out :sulk:
My SIL has given me a load of organic cotton in a few different simple patterns, i'm going to make Roh some Thai fisherman style trousers for the summer, and also some simple drawstring ones too, they should be nice and lightweight  I'm thinking about making a little matching shirt, again in the loose thai style (they are nice simple easy to make designs, and i'm lazy :haha:) but i hate doing buttonholes as my machine doesn't have a buttonhole setting, so it takes a bit of fiddling about, and i'm quite impatient  Ah well, maybe i'll just tie dye some tshirts instead.

Also, think i've come up with a business idea that could potentially earn me alot of money, still at the researching stage at the moment though.

Hmm, all in all i'm feeling quite inspired at the moment!

emera - :yipee: for the ergo! got my boba today :happydance: erin had a go in it and loved it :haha: you've intrigued me with your business idea!!!

mork - childminding sounds good. what is your current job?

amy - hope you have another good night! i can't imagine ever just waking once.

my night is set not to be a good one i think. i only settled owen 20mins ago and he's thrashing around in bed beside me and is obviously uncomfortable. he has really bad spots on his scalp and hairline and on his bottom :(

what a hellish night! owen cried for most of it and when i finally got him settled and to sleep dylan woke at 6.30am and woke him up again :grr: and woke erin too :growlmad: he tried to get into my bed and i said no as for some reason he just cant leave owen alone and loves to poke him to wake him so he threw a strop and woke owen and erin. am not impressed!

Maybe - :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

We went for a walk with the Ergo this morning, it was brill! :happydance: Also pretty easy to get Roh in and out of it onto my back  the instructions are good :) Went into the Oxfam book shop and got 2 books for me, and a Dr. Seuss one for Roh for £3 for all of them :)

ooh emera good bargains  glad the ergo was good :happydance: i can't wait to take owen out in the boba but have to wait til he's better!!! erin had a go and loved it and it was quite easy to carry her round on my back. she now thinks it is her sling though

am sat on the sofa watching watchdog. owen wakes if i try to put him down :dohh: poor thing keeps trying to scratch the spots :nope: he's got it worse than erin. bf is supposed to help so if that is true i cant imagine what he'd be like. his little scalp is covered in spots that you can feel :nope: my poor poor baby

dylan has an assembly tomorrow so am looking forward to watching that :D my mum will probably stay with owen.

Evening! I'll be on properly shortly, just ironing 95 chair covers

95 chair covers  thats some ironing! And there i was grumbling to myself because i was sorting out the recycling
