Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Maybe - What a shame! Is there a park nearby or something that you could all go over to if the weather does turn out to be nice? :hugs:

Oh my goodness Emera thats soooooo cute about Roh shushing you   SO cute! I'd love to see a pic of the dress - what a gorgeous gift! I'd much rather have something like that made than bought, I bet it was lovely :hugs: Ooops about the biting . . . I'm not really sure what to suggest on that one, hopefully he'll just stop doing it :hugs:

Maybe BOO for the rain!! It was forcast awful weather for Oliver's birthday but it came nice in the end so we all ended up outside. I'm sure it'll be okay and you'll all have fun :hugs: :hugs:

How much are your babies all 'talking'? Oliver says 'mama' and 'dada' but he says mama ALL the time and not just to me, if you know what I mean? He makes word type noises a LOT but it's hard to say that he uses any 'words' correctly - except for Dada which he pretty much only uses when Steve is about.

Oh, and Oliver's next vaccination appointment has come though :( It's for the week after next . . . . I'm dreading it!!

We had a fun day in the end, lots of playing and when Steve got up trying to make Oliver walk :haha: He did a couple of steps again  We had omlette for tea and Oliver ate absolutely LOADS! He wants everything on a fork at the moment, or a spoon, so I've been doing lots of pre-loading . . . . he shouts at me if I'm too slow :haha: I wondered how I would get him to use forks etc but he's just decided on his own which is quite good. Spoons are messy though :haha:

Sarah - Thats great about Oliver's eating  Roh loves omlette too! I just cut it into chunks for him to use his hands though. There is no waaay i could let him eat anything with a spoon, unless i wanted the kitchen redecorating :haha: I'm sure he'll get there in the end though.

As for the talking, he says "daddy" quite clearly, and points at OH when he says it, or any of OH's clothes, shoes etc :haha: he says "aashee" for fishy, and points at his toy cow and says "mmaaa" (think thats moo). Otherwise its "Da" for hello and goodbye, and "yay" for exciting things. Like Oliver he makes lots of word sounds, and chats alot, but i've no idea what he's on about :haha: The last few days though, he's been looking at me and repeating "etsie, etsie" alot, and gets quite emphatic. I'm pretty sure he's trying to say something specific, but i can't work out what it is. Oh, and of course, now "shush, sleep" :dohh:

Awwww Roh sounds so cute! He says loads!! I'm not sure if I should be doing more to encourage Oliver, but I seem to be like this with most things - I worry he's not doing something and worry that I'm doing something wrong, and then he starts doing what ever it is of his own accord :haha: :dohh: Silly Mummy! :haha:

We only do spoons when I'm feeling brave :haha: If he's having a yoghurt or something I let him do the last few spoon fulls himself. Forks are great though, I only had one and baby forks are so expensive! Then I found a pack in poundland that was 4 forks and 4 spoons, they are great quality and Oliver loves them! The spoons are quite deep so he can get lots on :haha:

The other thing we tried the other day was dips - I gave him lots of veggie sticks and bread sticks and his on pot of dip (which I held - or it would have just been on the floor :haha:) That went down a treat and he loved doing the 'dipping' though he kept putting a half chewed carrot / breadstick / pepper etc into the dip and then just leaving it there and getting another one :haha: I made the mistake though of giving him a cheese and chive dip, he loved it but wow he was smelly

Sarah, I'm exactly the same, i keep thinking i should be encouraging Roh to do stuff, and then i'm not too sure how, or i forget etc. then he just does stuff, the only thing i've really worked on was getting him to say fishy, which was the first "word" he said, although its not very accurate, but he points when he says it so i know what he's trying to say, if you know what i mean?

I found my phone cable, so here's the dress i made...

I'm quite pleased with it seeing as i didn't have a pattern or anything :) I'm so saving that picture for his best man to use at his wedding or something

   Thats such a great photo!!

Wow you are so clever!!! I could never make something like that - its beautiful! Its so pretty from the front but I absolutely love the bow on the back!! It really is gorgeous - what a special gift!! The detail is just gorgeous - wow!!!

How is your business idea coming along? Well I hope! :)

Since you posted a funny photo of Roh, I thought I'd share this one of Oliver . . . Steve found some 'geek' glasses he had for a fancy dress . . . . .

Thanks, i was pleased with it :)

The business plans are coming along, i don't want to share what it is, as its a bit of a niche, so don't want people nicking my plans, public forum and all :winkwink:

My friend's mum said i should make custom clothes to order though after she saw the dress  Maybe i will!!

 :haha:  That is a seriously cute picture! Oliver looks sooo unimpressed :haha:

I completely understand :hugs: I hope it goes really well for you! Needless to say if there is anything I can help with just ask :hugs: Not that there is many things I could help with but well, you know what I mean :haha:

You soooo could make custom kids clothes . . . you're so talented in so many things there are absolutely LOADs of things you could do!

I love the dress! You are so clever!!
Maybe I hope the weather turns out well on Tuesday. We are having the same problem re where to hold the party if it's wet outside :(
Sarahwoo- t still says mum and dad without knowing that they are names for specific people and she says 'da' when the points-not sure what she means!!
X x

the weather is awful :nope: oh well sardines in a can we'll be. am going to organise party games and my friend suggested putting a sheet on the floor and letting the kids eat picnic style!

emera - you're super talented!!! about the biting id remove him, say no very firmly and then give loads of cuddles to the 'victim'. these are all phases which will pass. kids can make you want the ground to swallow you though!!!

sarah - owen says 'papa' for food (baby word we use in gib and spain for food) 'mum' for me 'da' for dan 'dandad' for grandad 'mama' for dans mum 'fa' for fan and things that are on the ceiling (as my mum says 'oh owen thsts too far to touch') and 'no' when he knows he's not allowed to touch something :haha: well done oliver on the walking :happydance:

Maybe I hope your cleaning and party prep went well today!! I'm sure the kids will all love it either way :)

We had a nice day today, Steve has been at work so it was just the two of us, I somehow managed to get loads done though! We also walked into town as I had to go to the bank etc . . . . though everytime we went into a shop Oliver shouted and shouted - it wasn't even crying, just shouting!! Everyone was looking and smiling (and running after me with his socks when he chucked them on the floor :haha:) but I still didn't hang about :haha:

sarah - bless oliver. owen does the same! i guess they are men complaining already

have made lots of cake! will do the icing in the morning :D

I posted you all out a reply yesterday and then my laptop crashed :growlmad: here goes my attemt for tonight!

emera -I love the story of Roh shhhing you :cloud9: that dress is beautiful (as is Roh modelling it :winkwink:), I would have loved that for my girls!

Sarah - haha, love the pic of Oliver! Alex really wants to eat with cuttlery now too - he's had a few tries with a fork and does really well if he can stab the food enough to get it on the fork :haha: he also tries spoon feeding himself yoghurt - its so messy and he ends up with it all over his face. He still loves rubbing food in his hair so he looks like a scarecrow after meals :haha:

maybe - sending lots of sunshine dust :dust: I'm sure Owen will have a brilliant day tomorrow whatever the weather though :hugs:

Mork - how have your nights been? I may have missed it - what have you decided about work - are you going back 18.5hrs? x

Insomnimama - no job for me either, its getting me down. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for both of us :hugs:

H&F - I hope Amy had a lovely birthday :cake:

we had a family BBQ for Alex on sunday and the weather was horrible!! So we had 15 of us crammed into our small dining room. It was nice but it was difficult to do the things I wanted to do for Alex like have everyone there to sing happy birthday and watch him blow out his candle. Emily and I had made a very hungry caterpillar cake - we made lots of green cupcakes for the body and iced a sponge for the head. It ended up quite big and I'd left it on the table but I thought people would leave it until we'd sang to Alex but Kerry's mums boyf kept helping himself to the cakes!! oh well. we are going to have a little tea party on Thursday for him.

I'm kind of just functioning at the moment, I am feeling so stressed about not having a job its really getting me down. I wish I could just find a job and have this huge weight lifted from my shoulders! its causing so much stress
:hugs: to you all :hugs:

Amy :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

I really hope you get a job soon honey, I'm sure you will :hugs:

I just spent about an hour typing out a HUGE rant on my phone :haha: and then decided not to post it, public forum and all that. I feel a whole lot better for writing it out though, I might actually sleep now rather than just lay here all pissed off :haha:

sarah - :haha: I so know what you mean, I've deletedhalf of what I wrote but typing it out really helps :haha: I hope you are Ok - is it the same issue as before? x

amy - i hope you get something soon :hugs:
