Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

turns out its not the macbook but the browser. the guy told me to download google chrome and use that instead of safari. i havent had a chance to try it out yet though!!!

we're all going away for the weekend. it's an apartment complex so will still have to cook/prepare meals but there's lots of pools/garden areas for the kids!

mork we pay £20 for a half day session at nursery for erin. she goes 3 times a week from 9-1. (though could take her from 8 if i wanted to) breakfast and snack are included (though i dont take her early enough for breakfast as i take her after i take dylan to school) and i make her packed lunch and she eats there. as for owen he wakes about 6 times a night, sometimes 4 if i'm lucky!!!

sarah - i bought a new bra and a bikini from la senza the other day and it cost £60

frufru - hope you got more sleep!

Sarah: Ditto on the tantrums! It sometimes is sooo funny when he get's into it  and the face he makes  but other times I want to pull my hair out!

Amy: Thanks for asking  It was a very very sore throat, shivering and fatigue. I have been left with a persistent cough and a hilarious singing voice but feeling much better :) Hope Emily is feeling better :hugs:

Sarah: I read "gerberas" as garbage for a second and was very confused to why you it cost 29p  I am a "numpty" :dohh: It is really hot! I have the fan on downstairs and in Bobby's room which is baking! So cute how Oliver squirted water on himself and you had to change him  Hope you had a lovely time at Bramham.

Frufru: Sorry you are having teething trouble again :( Bobby is too! He keeps climbing our sofa and biting the kitchen counter! He makes a grinding noise while doing it and at the middle of the left side of his gums (where he has no teeth there is a lump that seems ouchie :( ) IT's really hard to see them like this isn't it? :hugs:

Emera: I hope the appointment at the Drs went ok :hugs: Bobby has been climbing our sofa for a while now (it's quite low down) and cruising it. At first I was worried but he really seems to know what he is doing and can get down quite well (most of the time!) Although he can get to kitchen counter and grab and plates or cups etc. so I have to be super vigilent about keeping it clear! Sorry to hear about your poor Dragon's wing :( Bobby broke a necklace my sister got for my birthday about a month ago :(

Frufru: What a scarey night you had :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: Glad Joni is feeling better! at Desperate Housewhores DH and I call the show Desperate Whorewives

Nichole: Welcome  Congratulations as well!

Maybe: Thanks for asking :hugs: I am feeling a lot better! I was suprised to hear that your Macbook crashed but it makes sense that it was just the browser. :( Great to hear about the holiday :happydance:

Mork: Sorry I have no experience with childcare :hugs:

Evening!

Well, the doctor sent me for an internal scan right away, and the results from that will be in mid-next week, so i'll find out whats going to happen properly then. Well hopefully. If the scan shows PCOS which the test results indicated, then, i can have medication to help with the ovulating etc. I'm also under orders to lose more weight, as i'm still in the overweight catagory, so that will be impairing my fertility too if its PCOS. Bleh, i've stepped up my diet and exercise to a more serious level, and hopefully it will speed the weightloss up  Anyway fingers crossed it shows up as PCOS, as then i won't need to be refered to a consultant and things can get going a bit quicker

Yesterday was pretty fun having 2 x 13 month olds in the house :haha: We had a good time :) Roh was very excited! It all went swimmingly though :)

Mork - All i know about childcare really is about childminding rates. Well, i know my friend is paying something like £240 a week for nursery, and that another friend uses a childminder and pays £175 per week (thats for 50 hours) Certainly childminders tend to be much cheaper, around here the average is £3.20 per hour for a childminder. Its the main reason i haven't started minding yet, as i'd only really want to take one child on to start with, and at that rate i can't afford to do it. Think its going to be something i'll save for a few years time once Roh is at school. Hope thats helpful, don't know much else.

:hugs: to you all, Roh seems to have woken up, so i better run!

Thanks ladies, it is all so difficult this decision making, i used to be really good at it before i got pregnant!!!! xx

Evening ladies!

Just a quick one from me! We had such an amazing day at Bramham, it was just a really lovely family day out - perfect! The weather was less sunny than yesterday which was good, as it wasn't too hot. Oliver absolutely loved watching the horses (:happydance:) and was very excited to see so many dogs :haha: Ahhhh it was just such a great day :)

I am completely shattered now though so I'm off to bed shortly, will catch up properly tomorrow :hugs:

erin danced at a cancer fundraiser yesterday! so cute :cloud9: she was a bit overwhelmed as there was quite a crowd there but she soon got into it! wil put photos/video on fb later!

Sarah: Glad you had a good time :happydance:

Maybe: Can't wait to see the pics!

Hiya :hi:

Just popped in for a quick read through and will make time tonight to reply properly.

I meant to post yesterday but after Joni went to bed I went out to water the garden and ended up pottering about outside until after 10pm when it got too dark to see :haha: which meant when I came inside I pretty much had to do all my inside chores and go to bed leaving no time to post :dohh: Of course I went to bed at 11 and Joni woke at 11.30 and did not go back down until 2  Hubby was the one that got her back to sleep in the end  good skills!

Have a lovely day all, speak to you all later x

We are going through hell here :( Bobby is getting his ninth tooth (I think they are called the canine teeth?) and it's causing him a lot of pain :(

Evening.

Well not the proper post I had hoped for as huuby used the netbook 2day & left me with no battery  so I'm on my phone BOO!
Hope you've all had good days

Modo it is Joni"s canines that have been giving her so much grief this last month :nope: I hope Bobby's make a swift break through.

Well I've put the netbook on to charge so my 'proper' post will have to wait til tomorrow as I am off to bed to see if I can manage more than 3-4 hours sleep tonight.

:hugs: to you all x

Awww Modo poor Bobby, I hope the pain eases up soon :hugs:

FruFru I hope you get a great nights sleep :hugs:  at your late night gardening :haha: I would have been too worried about the night time bugs :haha:

Just another quick on from me I'm afraid! We've had another busy day and I've spent all evening working and trying to get on top of my admin, which still isn't finished! I'm also feeling mildly stressed about this coming weekends wedding, the bride and I have been emailing all night as I can't get the original flowers that she wanted (she's having swagged covers with a flower, gorgeous :)) I showed her the ikea ones but we agreed that they are too small, so I suggested those but with a white bow and a normal cover which I though was gorgeous but she didn't like lol! She's so lovely though, bless her. So I need a trip to the wholesaler tomorrow which is always tricky because you can't take kids or babies in!! So I have to get Steve to wait outside or at home with Oliver and then I always feel rushed :dohh: But anyway, hopefully it should all be sorted by tomorrow night, then I just have the covers to sort before the weekend.

Well that was my 'work vent' :haha: I feel a bit better now :) I just feel like I have a lot to do but really its not so bed, it will be fine :)

Steve hasn't been very well for a few days, he has some kind of tummy bug. He's okay now so long as he doesn't eat :dohh: A few people at work have got it. Touch wood so far Oliver and I are fine, but I have been getting awful headaches which I think might be part of it as Steve started off with what he thought was a migrane. I'm not a headachey person at all but I have had a horrible head for two evenings in a row now, which is a bit crap :dohh:

Right well I'm off to sleep, we have our first 'Walkers and Explorers' group tomorrow! So I'd better set my alarm :haha:

Xx

Hi Janny  I loved seeing Jarred's photos on FB!

Sarah: Good luck with work! Sounds like you love it even with the brides who can't make up theirs minds :haha:

Frufru: Sorry about Joni's canines :hugs:

i put photos and a video on fb of erin's dance if anyone wants to peek :cloud9: will post properly later xx

Just wanted to say hey quickly now - the in-laws are apparently coming over after the rude message they left on my answer machine I am so annoyed but there is nothing I can do about it so I am just hoping they dont stay long.

Hi Nicole

Mork -Alex goes to a nursery and loves the interaction with other babies. I used a childminder for Emily and Holly when they were younger and they were happy there though but childminders have restrictions on the number of little ones they have. You could go look round some local nurseries and also meet some childminders and see what you feel works for you and T :hugs:

sarah - glad you had such a lovely time at Bramham  eeek, that does sound stressful trying to source what you need for the wedding, hope it all works out ok :hugs:

maybe - bless Erin!!

modo - glad you're feeling better, poor you! that sounds nasty :hugs: poor Bobby with the teething :flower:

frufru - I'm glad Joni's temperature was only for one night, sounds like a rough one for you though! :flower:

emera - "fingers crossed" its PCOS :hugs:

H&F - hope it goes OK with the in-laws :hugs:

just a quickie from me, Lincoln was fab - a really lovely break thanks to my mum. she really spoilt us! Alex loved the sandy beach and slept really well which was lovely. I was so sad to come home! I have to work a long day at the hospital tomorrow :( I'm a bit nervous as I cheekily asked if there is any negotiation over my start salary for the job I had - I had 6 years nursing experience but they offered me one step up from the bottom for salary. they are asking the scary woman who will be my boss so it could turn out all nasty. its not me at all to do this but Kerry said I should as they are discounting all my experience. arrrgh, I hate stuff like this :dohh:

Hey all, now there was me thinking you must have started another thread as I had no new posts on my user cp.... but somehow my subscription had gone :( But yay for finding you all again - I missed you all!!! :)
Thanks for all your replies re childcare, I still dont know what to do - on one hand i like the idea of a childminder and then on the other i like a nursery for the same or opposite reasons!! I think I will have to go look at a few of each like amy suggested.
Modo - sorry you are having such a tough time :(
H&F hope the inlaws dont stay long!
Amy-you should get your experience shown by renumeration, but i can understand why you feel uncomfortable asking
Hi Janey, its mad all our babies being a whole year old already, no one warned me about how quickly time goes when you are a mum!
Sarahwoo - is it all sorted now? Call me sad but i like hearing your work rants!
Maybe - erin is so cute :)
anyone else - hi and sorry i havent replied individually xx

Argh what a terrible couple of days

About 2 hours after i last posted i started with terrible d&v , like nothing i've ever experienced  I hardly slept all night apart from dosing off lying on the bathroom floor. OH went to work as he was in early and by that time i'd crawled into bed and passed out. Roh woke me up crying at 9.30am! I felt sooo guilty  he must have been awake for ages. I managed to change his nappy, feed him breakfast (in between me having to run to the loo) and then plonked him in the living room and went to get him some milk. I woke up on the hall floor with him crying and hitting my head, i'd fainted, and god knows how long i was out for. So i called OH to come home from work. When he saw me he called nhs direct who immediately called me an ambulance as i wasn't coherent and they were worried i had a concussion from the fall (this according to OH, i don't remember speaking to them) I've been in hospital since then having about 10 litres of fluids put back in. Turns out i didn't have a concussion, i was dangerously dehydrated ( i had no idea that could happen so fast) I kept asking to go home, but they wouldn't let me as everytime i stood up my blood pressure dropped and i got faint, and then i had a low blood count. Argh, it was horrible having to spend the night away from home, although i admit i was too exhausted to do anything but sleep really. The worst part was not recognising how severely dehydrated i was and that i wasn't capable of looking after Roh  I felt sooo guilty, and what could have happened makes me feel sick all over again, what if i'd been carrying him when i passed out? Well i just got home a couple of hours ago after forcing the nurses to find the duty doctor to come and discharge me, as i couldn't bare to spend another night away. The worst part is they wouldn't let Roh come in to visit me  I missed him sooo much :( I went in and gave him a big cuddle once i got home, even though i had to spend ages settling him back down after.

Bleh anyway, i'll go get some sleep, i'm feeling really upset and just needed to pour it all out, sorry :hugs:
