Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Well, Joni is wide awake and playing in her cot. Everytime I go to pick her up she crawls away from me  I have left her to her own devices and she is just standing up against the railings chatting away, funny baby :haha:

However, hopefully she will lose interest as it is lunchtime and while she may not be hungry I am famished!

FruFru it was my GP who told me to give the two together too :dohh: I have found though that quite often GP's are not all that up to date with new advice. I will still give them together if I feel he really needs them, but I will try to avoid it if I can.

I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one with a bare footed baby :haha:

Has anyone seen anythng of Muddles? I hope that she and Oliver are well!

modo - well done bobby! we are still at the launching himself at us and taking a few steps in the process so am not regarding it as proper walking :haha:

frufru - glad joni is better

off to make dinner. will be back later.

frufru - my brain chugged into gear slightly after i last posted and I remembered that night in bed that I'd meant to say i hope Joni is better :hugs: - I just read your last post, glad to hear she is better :) its so hard trying to fit everything in being at work isnt it! is your job still at risk?

emera - I'm so glad Roh is eating again! I know its a worry when they dont :hugs: Thanks for the pointers re: the shoes :hugs: I havent used anything on his feet up until now because it didnt seem right, I was thinking of getting him some lightweight shoes or sandals just for when its been raining?? he always wants to walk everywhere and as much as I dont mind him having grubby little feet its been such rubbish weather all our usual walks are all boggy

sarah - awww poor oliver! there have been quite a few children admitted to the ward with dehydration caused by this D&V bug - scary stuff :hugs: thats really interesting what the NHS direct person said to you! we still advise parents to do what you normally do - i.e. alternate the two so they have one every couple of hours!!! the doctors still prescribe it like that?! Ive read some journal articles recently that say there is no toxic effects from taking the two regularly as long as you dont exceed the dose. I hope you get your appetite back :hugs: your tummy probably shrunk!

modo - the pottery painting sounds fab!! what a lovely idea :flower: congratulations to Bobby! :happydance: now the fun starts ;)

maybe - glad you had such a lovely time and that the overstay of the inlaws didnt ruin it for you all. I loved the photos on facebook - you are looking lovely!

Nichole - that is so cute that she shows her belly!! :cloud9: its amazing how fast they develop, I love it :)

mork - Alex had a couple of grizzly clingy weeks and I couldnt work out why but then I noticed 5 new teeth had popped through including 2 molars! Could it be T's teeth?? :hugs:

so sorry for not posting much again :( i miss you all and think about you lots. I've been trying to do some coursework, theres so much to do  I can peep at facebook as that works on the other laptop (that I do my work on) but still not bnb :nope: weird! I hope all the poorly people are feeling tip top now :hugs: I've had another one of those weeks, I'm so stressed I feel like i am shaking all the time :( my car needed £600 to get through the MOT and its an old banger so not worth it. I've borrowed my Dads car for a week but it means I need to find a car this weekend  my dad and I trawled round the garages on Monday but there was nothing suitable :( I'm planning to go further afield on Saturday but i find cars so uninspiring I just find the whole thing depressing.
Today i was in Essex again so I am pooped. I got Alex all ready for bed and went to put him down and the BLOOOOOMIN cat had pissed all over his bed :growlmad::grr: i was so angry and I have washed the mattress in the bath under the shower but I am worried about whether it is safe to use now :( I literally drowned it in the bath so its dripping dry now. I'm sure there is no pee left but it might rot now??? Alex is in the travel cot.
I've applied for another job - its working as a community health nurse and would be more health promotion for the early years which I would love, I could ramble on about breast feeding all day :haha: fingers crossed but if not i've still got the other job.
Lots of love to you all xx

oh I forgot, aswell as his first little word - teeeee for tree Alex now says Lyra! he was saying it over and over again when i took him out on his trike - he watches Lyra running round the fields calling out her name :cloud9:I'm sure Mummy will be next :haha:

:haha: to Alex's words Amy.

Just popped on before bed and read about the mattress fiasco :nope: To be honest I would not think a mattress could recover from that kind of kitty treatment and soaking without a bit of mildew sneaking in, but I could just be being paranoid. I think kitty might be relegated to the shed in the woods tonight for bad behaviour, but then kitty might enjoy it too much with all the wildlife to stalk :winkwink:

As for my job. Work keep procrastinating about committing to an actual timescale for the closure of our centre. We were supposed to be closing early 2012, then it was late 2012 and now they won't even commit to a timescale  We have moved to a different building already being used by a different part of the group. By moving us they have saved a lot of money by being able to stop renting and covering running costs of the other 2 buildings my bit of the business was occupying which is why they are no longer so bothered about shutting us down urgently. As far as I am concerned I have a job until I hear otherwise and they should be giving us good notice if/when that does happen. So for now I am not going to worry about it, try anyway :winkwink:

Hey all, I am sooooo rubbish at rememberig what everyone has said when i post -so apologies for everyone i have forgotten!
Amy-that job sounds ace - fingers crossed! Yay for Alex saying Lyra, i so hope its mummy next!! T used to say mummy and daddy all the time but now its mainly 'da' which i think is 'that'. However, she did sign 'more' the other day -which i was so proud of!! It could well be teeth too as she has just sprouted 4 new ones in the last month.
Modo - Yay for Bobby taking his first steps!!!!!!!! :)
Frufru-so glad to hear Joni is better
Maybe - great that you had a good weekend!
Muddles - where are you?!
Sarah-we havent brought any proper shoes yet either - I am hoping to hold off till the end of the summer now.
xx

Hi ladies! :hugs:

Argh, i want to post, but work has kille me today so i think i might lie here and watch a movie instead of trying to use my brain to remember what everyone has said  Amongst other things (alot of other things) i had to make 600 portions of flapjacks, which uses about 30 kilos of oats. It was alot of stirring

That documentary about assisted suicide keeps playing on my mind. I can't work out how i feel about the issue, but i keep finding myself getting upset about it.
Right, i need to lie down!

:hugs:

Morning!

I was going to post last night but we had such a wierd evening - Oliver had a great day and had a lovely bath and settled for bed really well at 7.30pm, but by 8pm he was awake again . . . . . Steve came home at 8.30pm and Oliver got all excited so I took him downstairs again for some Daddy time, tried at about 9.30 to get him back to sleep but again I just couldn't settle him! He wasn't upset, he just wouldn't sleep! I hadn't had my tea so I was starving and ended up giving in and taking him down stairs again - and he played and played and was wide awake until 11.30pm  He had a scarey nappy so I wondered if he might have had a bit of tummy ache, who knows?

Amy I hope you find a lovely car! :hugs: I find looking at cars pretty boring / annoying too but when you find the right one it's all worth it :hugs: It is so scarey re dehyrdration . . . I was so grateful to still be breastfeeding as Oliver just wanted to nurse all the time, so I knew he was at least still getting something. Who knows what the NHS Direct man was talking about then  unless they get different guidelines or something? Really wierd. He was a bit annoying though TBH. He had called me back after I called, and the first thing he said was 'Did you call NHS Direct or did you call us?' and I was like erm, I called NHS Direct! (Apparently in West Yorkshire we have our own group of staff who deal with calls, out of hours you can call and its like an out of hours service for the doctors). So he said well you know your doctors surgery is still open. So i said yeah but I called NHS Direct, thats why you called me back. And he mumbled on a bit about it and then said right well I'm just writing down that you called NHS Direct. All this time I've got Oliver sat throwing up on my knee :dohh: I could have maybe understood asking at the end of the call if he needed to know but before he had any idea if the baby was really ill or not? He was really quite patronising too, my main worry was about dehydration which as you say kids end up in hospital with, so I didn't feel I was been fussy by calling when Oliver was throwing up every 20 minutes for six hours.

Clever Alex saying tree!! And Lyra, how cute! He really sounds like he's mastered walking too - clever boy! Oliver say's 'Dada' at Steve all the time, he says 'Mama' a lot but we think he means me/mine rather than mummy :haha: He says 'nana' and my mum thinks he says it to her, but he really says it all the time, I don't have the heart to tell her :haha: Other than that its mainly word type sounds like babababababa etc, he is very chatty :haha:

Naughty cat!!!!!! I think I'd probably chuck out the mattress, I doubt it will be able to properly dry in the middle :dohh: Why do cats do stuff like that? Our cat (Kitty) is pretty good but we had another cat who was terrible, the first thing she did as a kitten was jump on our bed and have a wee! I had to throw away a really nice down duvet because even though I had it cleaned it just wasn't right again :dohh:

Did I say good luck with the job application? It sounds great, I really hope you get it!!

FruFru I imagine it is really hard work trying to get everything done and working :hugs: How many hours will you be doing?

Emera WOW, thats a LOT of flapjack!!!!! Its also made me want some :haha: How's the bed / ceiling situation? The assisted suicide debate is a really tough one. I find it hard to let myself really think about it because a) its so upsetting and b) I almost feel that I don't have a right to an opinion because I haven't had a loved one close to me in that kind of situation, if you know what I mean? I know its different but the story line on Emerdale really upset me, I don't watch it much but I caught the episode where the young guy died and I cried and cried. I think it was mainly because of the mother / son relationship, I just can't imagine ever been in such an awful / difficult position.

Awwww, i just looked at my ticker and Oliver is 1 year, 1 month, 1 week and 1 day old :cloud9:

amy - i think that the matress is probably not going to recover unfortumately. we used to have a cat but she peed on any bag that was left around and when dylan was born she peed on the carpet and the buggy (thankfully it was faulty so we had to get a new one) but eventually we had to get rid of her as it went as far as her peeing on my friend's flipflops when she came round  i hope you get the job and find a car!

sarah - time flies eh!?!

emera - that flapjack making sounds like hard work!!!

frufru - hope work stop messing you around!

i think owen is doing an explosive poo in his high chair as i am posting this  he is such a little chatterbox and says about 15 words i think. his newest are 'door' and 'more'. he points at doors we go past saying 'door, door, door' this afternoon we're going to a soft play area when dylan gets out of school. ok i'm off to see to the poo! wish me luck!

Hi all -

Argh sorry for not posting I have been so busy with wedding plans and buisness propositions to take to the bank to get a loan but its all been a bit crazy! Anyway I now have no idea what to do about starting up this idea I have a huge fear of it not working and losing loads of money.

Right hopefully I will catch up properly later but I need to go cook some dinner now I a super hungry!

h&f - hope that your idea goes according to plan? what's it about or don't you want to say? and well done on reaching goal  i've out on 4lbs recently so am still 6lbs away :dohh:

well we had a nice afternoon. went to the soft play, then we went to have tea and i got a cuddle of my friend's 6wk old :) then we went to the playground. now all three kids are in bed, the boys are asleep and erin is still awake talking to herself :dohh:

frufru - well at least there is no pressure on you to find another job imminently!

mork - boo to teeth causing sleepless nights and grizzly babies :hugs:

sarah - was Oliver tired today after his late night? :haha::winkwink: Alex has done that before! nightmare :haha: that whole NHS call sounds so frustrating and pointless! as you say they could've spent their time much more constructively! Alex is chatty too, i love listening to him ramble on :cloud9:

emera - gosh!!!! what a lot of flapjack! I bet it was all delicious though :hugs:

maybe - why do cats do these stupid things!! Wow Owen is a clever boy with all his words!:flower:

H&F - you must be getting so excited about your wedding :happydance:

I think I have to agree with you all and chuck the mattress. kerry will flip as it was one of the most expensive :dohh: I just dont want to risk it, I'll have to sneakily buy one and throw the other one at the dump. car shopping again tomorrow - joy. My parents keep pointing things out to me and no offence meant but they look like mobility cars for wheelchairs :dohh: I guess I need to think mumsy!!

Amy noooo you don't need a Mumsy car!! Honestly, buy a Saab 93 Diesel, mine was an X reg and it was the most reliable car I've ever had. It had all the luxuries, leather interior, cruise control, air con etc and they are soooo safe, it was lovely to drive about town and on the motorways. General driving about I got 56mpg, and insurance was less than I pay on the Freelander. You can pick them up so cheap and they have a HUGE boot too :haha: They aren't the most cool car but they are lovely, and the diesel ones go for ever so as long as they have been well maintained you can pretty much ignore the milage :haha: I found two for you in Kent to show you what I mean :haha:

I really like wither of those, the silver one is lovely :haha:

Maybe your afternoon sounds fun, we keep meaning to take Oliver to soft play

H&F How are the wedding plans coming along? Good luck with the business idea and the bank! Exciting stuff! I wrote two business plans for my business - one where I could start off small, fund everything myself and then use part of the profit to grow in time, and another where I got a large-ish cash investment and went in full steam ahead. I went for the slower growth self fund option, partly so that I can learn as I go along and adjust my plan as I see fit, and also because small business funding is SO hard to come by at the moment. I really hope it works out for you, you've very brave - I'm a complete chicken with these things :haha:

So Oliver got up today at 9am, took a nap of about an hour and a half at lunch time and went to bed at 7pm, so completely back to normal except for just one nap. I have no idea what last night was all about :haha: :dohh: He wasn't all that tired today but I really thought he would be. I have a wedding tomorrow so I was sooooo glad that he went to bed okay so that I could get everything ready! We also have to be up at about 7am as I'm setting up at 8am - luckily the hotel is literally five minutes away

We had a nice relaxing day, this afternoon we went to the park with Oliver and his trike which was fun, I've got some piccies to put on Facebook :)

xx

sarah - i'm glad that oliver went down as normal for you last night!

amy - good luck today with the car hunt!!!

as for me last night owen went to bed at 8pm. he woke at 8.45 and took about 15 mins to settle. then he slept till 2.15am  but took 45mins to settle :dohh: and then woke at 5.15 and took about the same to settle so good that he woke less but i was shattered as it took me so long to settle him! he kept getting up and trying to get out of the cot :dohh:

in about 15 mins we're off to Dylan's school for open day. mum is staying with erin and owen so that we can look around in peace and quiet :haha: and this afternoon i'm going to my cousin's house as they have a pool so we'll spend the afternoon there after dylan gets out of school. as from next week schools are on half days til the end of term so maybe we'll do the beach in the afternoons.

Bobby was up from 10-11 pm last night. We had to take him out of bed for some cuddles and calpol before putting him back in at around 11pm. Poor Boo :( He was quite grumpy at gymboree which he usually loves. He kept pulling on his hair and chewing on his finger.

Hi

I have been such a numpty, we lost our internet connection and it turned out I had pressed a button on the laptop and disabled it doh.

Back now though and you've all updated loads..... so need to catch up.

I'm working my first lot of lates this weekend, until 4 am urrrrgh. Not sure how on earth I'm going to manage, luckily it's only once every 5 weeks.

Will has a temp today and was up in the night, I can feel something sharp one side so think it must be his teeth. Daddy has to put him to bed while I'm at work, I'm hoping he won't give him a hard time.

Glad everyone seems to have recovered.

Poor Bobby he sounds just like Will, with his teeth xx

Will catch up and post properly later xxxxx
