Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Hello lovely ladies

H&F Yay for team pink, what a lovely surprise and fab you can use your bargain pushchair too.

Modo Love your bump picture on FB. How is Bobby doing at nursery?

Emera your fb picture is lovely, you look really well. Hopefully your last bump picture? Is Roh still obsessed with Mr Maker? It's Mr Tumble in our house, especially the recent one with the trains. I could recite the entire episode word for word including all the signs as I have seen it so many times now often it finishes then he wants it again

Sarah I need to have a proper look at the pictures you have added of wedding things on FB but I caught sight of some gorgeous button boquets. I would have definitely had them for the little flower girls if I had known about them when I got married. Hope you and Oliver are starting to feel better now.

Mork partying  I wish! My Saturday night was- put pjs on as soon as Oliver is in bed, park up on the sofa and watch trashy tv whilst eating sweets. How are you doing?

Maybe How are you doing? hope you took the day off work and hopefully spent at least some of it sleeping.

LC You should be sitting down for at least some of the time Will is asleep. I try and distract if I see a tantrum about to happen. If he is doing something he shouldn't like throwing toys or something then I would say no you can't throw that but you can do this (he has some of those soft fabric skittles) then instead of tantruming about not getting to do what he wants he forgets he is annoyed  He also gets frustrated if he is trying to do something so I have got him to sign help and he says it too (though often makes a whingy noise and so I remind him to ask for help instead of whinging). I always try and think that it must be so annoying to be told no or not be allowed to do the things you really want to do so if it's not dangerous I let him get on with it and if it is then I tell him not to do that and distract him. In the car if we are not in a rush then i let him go in the front for a minute or two and he 'helps' me by putting the music on and doing a bit of driving (or annoying the neighbours by trying to beep the horn ) and if we are in a rush then I tell him I will put his music on if he gets into his car seat quickly, though it does then mean being subjected to track 1 from Bob the Builder over and over again! Mind you if you look at my FB you will see that he is a little monkey and waits until I leave the room to do the dangerous stuff!

The baby shower was great fun. We played some good games and it was nice to have a good chat. I didn't have a baby shower with Oliver but I am tempted to have one this time. I seem to have sprouted a baby bump over the past week whereas before it was almost flat in the morning but by bedtime it was quite big and now it is just big! Oliver has developed a love of climbing recently and my poor nerves are shot to pieces :lol:at least by him not doing it when he was little he is a bit more robust now so hopefully can get down carefully!

Hi

Emera I hole my breath everytime I come on here in case you've had her!

Mork 2 hours is very uncommon, he's done it the last couple of days but it's usually an hour and a half. I know I should be resting but, I only have mon, tues, weds off and the in laws are here today and then swimming and he quite often sleeps in the car on wednesday's so I have to seize the moment. I did however eat with him last night and so come 7 pm I was sat on my bottom lol.

Muddles, that's a good idea, he just seems so stubborn. I did get a bit of the way to the bottom of it. OH had thim this weekend and funnily enough all the struggles I had yesterday he didn't have because he doesn't seem to mind him running around with toothpaste!!! urrghhhh So annoying when I have to deal with the consequences. Will doesn't seem to get reasoning quite yet as he has also learn no, so any suggestions are met with NO. Distraction used to work but he seems to have caught on to that. Little monkey x

The really annoying bit is we had this months ago, when we made the mistake of letting him hold it (toothpaste) and ironed it out together. At least I thought, he was there but possibly not paying attention.

Inlaws over today, which is really hard work, they really don't give Will space at all. I might just do the ironing when they are here, when Will sleeps xx

Anyone else just waiting for the very back four teeth? I keep thinking that they must be on their way then feel and nothing. You can guarantee they'll pop through in 12 weeks lol

Hope you all have a lovely day xx

Think the back 4 teeth come through in the 2nd year at some point L-C.
I thnk our LOs are a bit young to understand reasoning for a while yet, they only really understand very basic cause and effect. "If I do this I get shouted at" for example. The only way to discipline them is through very simple repetition sadly. - have a similar problem with OH, mind you he'd say the same about me! :haha: we both have different things we let him get away with. I'm lucky Roh is a sensitive soul and haes it if. Say something he does is bad, he gets very upset and tends not to do it again really. I'd say he antrums, but its all in the definition I think. Most the time I can see its just frustration so I just take him away from whatever frustrates him and do something else. If its something he has to do, then I just let him strop until he gets over it. We don't have car issues as we don't have a car so getting into his carseat is novelty enough he's no trouble. Sometimes he'll be a pain getting in his buggy but he's learnt I never give in, so he'll scream whilst I strap him in, and then just give up and calm down

If I'm honest, I feel like I'm holding my breath at the moment. I do feel like she'll be coming soon finally. No major sgns, but I suddenly feel like I could go into labour soon, rather than a few days ago I felt like I would be pregnant forever!!

Well that's good, hopefully this week then, I can believe you are nearly 40 wks!!

I think I need to intercept him before he bolts out of the car seat to nip it in the bud but we have a rear facing one and it's hard enough getting him in and out this size xx

Emera I had a dream last night that you were in labour :haha: That's what you get for reading BnB before bed :haha:

L-C we do similar to Emera with the tantrums. He's not too bad. He's pretty good with his car seat (also rear racing) though he does sometimes make himself all stiff so I can't fasten him in :dohh: He sometimes has a strop getting him into the pushchair but if I'm on my own with him he's much better than if Steve's there. I think he knows that there is really no choice when I'm on my own. When he has a little tantrum I try to distract him, sometimes I leave him to it for a few mins.

Hey all -

L-C - with amys tantrums we tend to ignore her if she isnt doing something dangerous and then she eventually gets over it. We also use the 'naughty step' its not really a naughty step though its more just a space for her to clear her head for a minute and calm down and it really works for her ... I think for Amy its just a case of taking her away for the situation and giving her the space to cool off and then come back. As for the car she doesnt tend to tantrum as I undo her whilst I am sat in the front and then she climbs across so I can get her out! ... I think because she has that freedom anyway she isnt to bothered!

Emera - I keep thinking everytime I come on your baby might have arrived! Its really exciting!

Sarah- hope your ok - I love all your wedding bits I wouldve loved the button bouquets for my flower girls!

Muddles - I have no bump yet .... when I went out on Friday with some friends they said they thought my stomach was getting flatter and was I sure I was pregnant! well after the scan on Saturday there is definately a baby in there! I have my 16 week appointment today and am having to take Amy with me to the midwife ... I think I may terrify any first time mums with my crazy toddler!

Hope everyone is ok ... I cant stop eating at the moment, Amy is just having a nap so I am making the most of being able eat junk in peace!!!

H&F I didn't realise you were 16 weeks - will you get another gender scan? I didn't think they did those until 20 weeks!

H&F wonder whether you will have one this time next week, as mine really popped between 16 and 17 weeks before that I just looked like i had eaten too many pies  I took Oliver to my 16 week appointment and he had a great time sitting on the midwife's scales then saying 'baby baby baby' and 'hiya' at my belly as the midwife let him sit up on the bed beside me whilst she listened to the heartbeat.

LC like Emera and Sarah said with the tantrums whatever you decide to do as long as you are consistent he will get it in the end. We are waiting for the back four teeth too. I heard the same as Emera that they come somewhere around age 2.

I keep popping on to see if there is any word from Emera. After my dream last night I'm sure that baby is coming today :haha:

Sarah, no movement yet! But for some reason I feel like is close, don't know why, but just a feeling. My bro reckons I'm going to have a leap baby!

Awwww emera you got me all excited when I saw that you'd posted :haha: Go and eat a nice big pineapple curry

Ooohhhh I hadn't thought about a leap baby! That sounds pretty cool!

This little lady better not keep us all waiting too long, my nerves can't take it :haha:

Oliver and I walked into town earlier, I'm shattered now :haha: I still don't think I have all my energy back. Oliver is now trying to walk around with Steve's size 11 slippers on :dohh:

Hey all! Just popping in reading and running again! I haven't taken time off work but am taking antibiotics now so hopefully will feel better soon!

Kids in bath so posting quickly will reply to your individual posts later when I get more than 2 mins to myself!!!

Hey all -

Emera - really hope your little miss comes soon! its far to exciting waiting to see if your baby has arrived! our niece was born on a leap day.

Sarah - my gender scan was private scan ... in our area they refuse to tell us the gender its against trust policy so I decided to find out as soon as I could!!!

Well I made toad in the hole for dinner and then decided to make an apple crumble for pudding! I felt like a real domestic goddess but now I am shattered and just waiting for the biggest loser! How is everyone getting on. x x x

Hi

Thanks for all the tantrum advice, think it was mostly the backlash for Daddy letting him run wild lol

Emera I hadn't thought of a leap baby, how cool!! I'm sure of it now x

Maybe really hope the antibioticsa kick in quick for you xx

H&F I'm intrigued to know if you get another scan. I can't stop eating either! x

Oliver sounds so cute in his size 11 slippers Sarah. Did you know you can take minadex too?? Might be a pit of a pick up x

Muddles, glad you're getting on ok, are you going to find out the sex, do you feel different to last times?

Really tiring day with the inlaws, so just finishing yet more ironing and then bed for me. My Mum is up tomorrow and then swimming x

Oh Emera a leap baby sounds exciting. I keep checking to see if there is any news.

LC I felt really, really sick all day every day from about week 5-week 12 then felt good for about a week and a half and now back to feeling sick most of the time again, though thankfully not as bad as first trimester  I was slightly nauseous with Oliver on and off so this is very different. Based on that alone we are thinking girl. Part of us really wants to find out as it would be nice to know and may help us with choosing a name (basically there are no girls names we agree on and very few boys ones so this baby could be called baby) but the surprise would be nice too, and what if they got it wrong? I can't remember if you did or not but did you find out at your 20 week scan?

H&F yum, dinner and dessert sounds lovely.

Sarah  at Oliver wearing huge slippers. Hope you are feeling yourself again very soon.

Maybe Glad you are on antibiotics, hope they kick in soon and you will be back to being supermum!

Hi Muddles, that sounds similar to me..... they think we are having a girl, but I didn't feel that they were that sure so, more girl but still an element of surprise which is lovely xx

Hey all once again reading and running! So busy! Dan bringing back an Indian take away now when he finishes work at 10pm :) speak later xx

Maybe YAY for the weekend for you!! I hope you have a good one! Enjoy your take away!

How are you doing Emera? Any sign yet? :flower:

I hope everyone else is well!

We have had a lovely few days. We went to a farm yesterday and Oliver had such an amazing time! It was so lovely, the weather was wonderful and it was just SO fun :cloud9: Today was quieter but still good, we've been getting some things done around the house which is always good

I have a wedding tomorrow, but not much else planned apart from that. Steve is working, so just a quiet one I guess. Hopefully the weather will be nice so we can play out a lot :)

Soooo bored of waiting now!!! :hissy: :brat: :hissy:

Other than that i'm good! :haha:

Took Roh to the park yesterday with a friend and her daughter, which was lovely, except Roh made a break for it and i literally had to run full speed a cross the park to catch him, he's so fast! As you can imagine i got some pretty odd looks, fully pregnant woman legging it through the park! :dohh:

You'd think that would have helped labour along, right? :sulk:

 at Roh running across the park, bless him! Gosh two more days and you're going to be overdue!!! How did that happen!!! Is all the home birth stuff sorted?
