Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Hi all! It's sure quiet in here these days!!! Hope you're all ok xx

Hey everyone -

sorry for not posting in a while life is a bit mad with two! You have a minute to yourself and then off doing something else!

We are really good - Eva now weighs 10lb 10.5oz and is a really happy baby kast night she only had one night feed which was brill ... i bet she wil be back to feeding every hour tonight though!

Amy is doing really well with Eva we are stilll doing all her toddler groups etc so i think she is getting enough play time to balance out boring time at home! We had some family photos taken last weekend and i cant wait to get the disc to see them - Eva looks so similar to how Amy was as a baby we cant actually tell the baby pictures apart.

Anyway hope everyone is ok. We are off to soft play this morning and then the shops ... I really need some more tops that are easy to feed in!

It is quiet in here Maybe!!! I dont know how you find time to post - as H&F says - life is manic with 2 - let alone 3!!!!!!!!!!
Glad all is good with you H&F, looking forward to the pics :)
Had E weighed this week - he is 14lbs! Saw Dr yesterday re the possibility of him having silent reflux, but because i expressed reluctance to give him medication, I was just told to go back in 3 weeks, now i'm not a paranoid mum and rarely seek medical advice but now i feel like i am being treated like someone that does - afterall, the dr doesn't have to deal with the pain cries from their baby every single day :(

Hey everyone!

I hope you are all okay :hugs:

Oliver is a little under the weather :( He has a little cold, and then this morning he said his ear hurt :( So were at the drs this afternoon and he has an ear infection in one ear, poor little lamb! He still seemed fine most of the time, I gave him some of his antibiotics when we got home and then he wanted to play out. At some point playin out on the garden he must have had a poo - which I didn't notice because we were outside and he was running about - and he didn't tell me :dohh: so by the time we came in and he told me he was soooo sore :( It was a bit of a poonami and he was crying his little eyes out  He had tea okay and then he just burst ino tears and was crying so much and saying it hurt, it was awful. He ended up falling asleep so he's gone to bed, I put lots of happy cream on so I'm hoping that will help, and I'm wondering If been under the weather has made him more sensitive because he's never looked so sore before, in fact he's never really had nappy rash at all. My poor baby :(

aww no Sarah hope Oliver is feeling better soon.

Amy is also not 100% we have had a flu / cold thing over the last couple of weeks and she has really struggled to get rid of it and she has been so grumpy today I am wondering if its been affecting her.

I am just waiting for my little miss to wake up for a feed she usually wants one around 10 and then I can go to sleep! I am shattered today!

H+F,glad things are well with your girls, hope Amy is back to full health soon!

Maybe, hope Owen shakes off the cold easily. :hugs:

Sarah. Poor Oliver! Hopefully he'll start to feel better soon, and maybe just give him lots of nappy off time if he's sore? Its horrible when they have nappy rash. I find using cotton wool dipped in chamomile tea (cooled!) Rather than wipes is nice and soothing for nappy changes. :hugs:

Mork, E is a good weight! Sorry to hear he's not comfortable though :hugs: Doctors are crap with newborn's issues I find! They always fob you off and make you feel like you are being a bit silly. :grr:

We are generally ok here, Roh is really challenging, but so sweet and loving too, and the things we struggle with do show improvement, until the next thing comes up! :haha: My fractured nose is feeling much better! :dohh: F is gorgeous, but fully miserable with teething, and she's had a bad reaction to her final set of jabs which she had really late, just yesterday. She's miserable with a temp and a swollen leg! Over all we are well though, hard work now G is getting pretty mobile. Not crawling yet, but she's close. She rolls with intent though, so travels all round the room! :haha: Roh is getting annoyed with her now she can nick his toys! :haha:
Oh, meant to ask, Roh is suffering from stranger anxiety quite badly, I just wondered if he was the only one? My FIL came over the other day and Roh was terrified, and either clung on to me crying or hid under a blanket in the corner the whole time FIL was here! He doesn't see him enough to remember him yet, so he freaked a bit. Guessing it will pass as a phase... Hope so FIL thinks Roh hates him  (FIL is mentally about 6 years old, I swear! :haha:)

Emera - We had a similiar thing with Amy a few weeks ago when the inlaws came ... she was crying and clinging to me. She has also taken a dislike to certain people when we are out and about. I just keep tryinng to reassure her but its to get round the shops when she keeps shouting 'I dont like that stange man!'

We haven't hit stranger anxiety yet but I expect we will :haha: I had a guy come over to hire some chair covers the other day for a 'self fit' wedding, I was showing him how to fit them and the whole time Oliver was shouting 'who is this mummy? Who is this?' And trying to climb on the chair

Oh, Oliver has developed a 'fear' of the cat though :dohh: He's not a actually frightened but he pretends to be and tells me to put her in the kitchen :haha:

I've applied to have some of the things I make stocked in a shop in leeds. It's for my brooches and felt and button bouquets. The shop is in a really great location but they only take really nice stuff so I'm not sure if I'll get in. They sell locally hand made things, I would LOVE to be stocked there! I emailed some pics over the other day and apparently she emailed back but I haven't got the message! I'm all nervous, I want to know!!!!

Argh I still haven't heard from the shop in leeds :dohh: I don't want to pester her, I guess if I haven't heard by Monday I'll email her. I really want to know!!!!! :hissy:

Fingers crossed for you Sarah! How is Oliver now, feeling better? X

He's much better thankyou :) His sore bottom was much better when he got up yesterday and he said it didn't hurt :) it's so much easier now he can tell me if something hurts or doesn't hurt :) he says his ear is 'okay' too so hopefully the antibiotics are helping :)

I think we've decided what to buy him for Christmas too, an inno tab 2. I might get my iPad back then :haha: We've got a few things reserved at Argis as they have 3 for 2 on all toys this week :) I'm trying to be organised this year, last year by the time I wanted to buy the Christmassy stuff everyone was doing the same and the prices went up :dohh:

Sarah, I know what you mean. I just went and spent £100 on Octonauts toys. I got nearly all of them though and all at reduced price. The Grandparents are all putting in £20 each towards them (4 sets of grandparents lol) and we'll put in the same, so that's Roh sorted. We'll get him a few other bits and pieces too. I have no clue what to get for F as she's still little and won't really know what's going on, but I feel wrong about spending out on Roh and not spending the same on her. We already have most the toys we need for her age group and also clothes as we have so many hand-me-downs. There is a beautiful pair of little slipper boots I'd like to splash out on for her, so will get those, but beyond that, I'm all out of ideas! What do you even get for baby girls?!?

emera we're the same. I've bought Ava a couple of half price fisher price toys, pinker than the ones we have and an outfit, mainly to do her a stocking. More for Will's benefit though if you know what I mean. she does need clothes and we don't have any hand me downs coming in, so I feel like I'm constantly spending on her.

Really not sure what to get Will though....

I was really struggling with christmas as Amy seems to have everything she needs and we really don't have any spare money this year! So instead of buying her loads of stuff I think I am going to buy her a kiddizoom camera as she is always taking ours and I think its something she will enjoy. As for Eva I think we are literally going to buy her a lamaze toy and some pink stacking cups as they are the only things that are damaged from Amy! Our aim is to spend under £100 on christmas in total!

We have managed to convince my sil who's studying in Leeds to bring us stuff if we pay for the suitcase weight. Lots of websites either don't deliver to gib or postage is extortionate! Ordered some books off amazon yesterday as that is free p&p to gib. Got a couple of augmented reality books for the older 2 and some peppa pig books for Owen.

Sarah I thought of the innotab but bit wary as my friend bought 2 for her twins (then just turned 3) and they used them very little as they still wanted the iPad! There's rumors the iPad mini will be released soon tho!

Mork - boo to drs making you feel paranoid!

Sarah - hope you get your stuff into the shop in Leeds!

Emera - glad your nose is better!

Off to do some cleaning now! Xxx

H&f the inno tab 2 does a lot of stuff that the iPad does (that Oliver uses anyway lol!) It has a camera, video camera, we can put the Thomas movies on there. The main thing though it that a) it's harder to break than an iPad and b) it's cheaper if he does break it lol! The iPad minis are cute but he'll have to be old enough to look after it before he gets his own apple stuff lol! It's too easy to break the screen or get them wet, hopefully the innotab it more toddler proof!

We ended up with the innotab, remote control Thomas that makes steam, and a balance bike. It means there are lots of things like games, case, bike helmet etc that people can buy if they ask what he wants, rather than us ending up with stuff he doesn't play with etc. I've got loads of stuff on my amazon wish list for him too, so it's all looking organised :) just everyone else to sort out lol!!

We are doing hand/foot print plates and painted cups (by Roh) for everyone this year. Its reasonably cheap, and nice and unique. Only other people I have to buy for are my niece and nephew, no clue what to get them my bro and SIL buy them EVERYTHING!!

I still don't know what to about christmas but thanks for the ideas :)
