Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Sounds like a great plan with the house Emera

Yep I think that will be the plan while Steve goes to his meeting, plus I'll take some crafts or something for me to do in the evening when Oliver has gone to bed :) We'll be fine.

Steve has booked a mini break for us all for March which is very exciting!! We used to go on city breaks all the time pre-Oliver and I am very excited! We're going to Budapest, Steve used to live there so he knows the city quite well. I am a bit nervous about flying with Oliver though, have any of you flown with your toddlers yet? Any tips?

Sarah I flew long haul spain- New York when Dylan was just 3 and Erin 15m. It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be! We're flying to France to go to Disney a week on Monday. I take lots of snacks, colouring, iPods, iPad and books to entertain kids.

Went out with my work friends for a leaving do last night. So not used to late nights and drinking any more!!!! Got home at 2.30am and was woken before 7 by Owen. Bf him in bed and then sent him to wake dan to give him breakfast, as he'd promised! Took dan a while to get up but he did. I'd left the kids clothes ready so he took them out and I had a lovely lie-in!!! Tomorrow is my bday  the big 35! Downhill to 40 :sad2: dan suggested lunch but with the expense of Disneyland at the end of the month I suggested staying here. My parents and in laws will come for afternoon tea (I have to bake my cake tomorrow!!!) and that'll be that! Lol!

Happy birthday maybe! Hope you have a good day and at least if you ate baking your own cake you will know it will taste good ;) xxx
Ps 35 is the new 25!!! Xx

thanks girls! had a lovely day! we took the kids to the park, then had lunch at home and then my parents and in laws came round for tea.

last week of work before half term! this time next week, god willing, we'll be in Disneyland Paris! :) sooooo much to do before then though!

Exciting Maybe - I loved disneyland paris when i went (before children!!! lol) xx

We went last November and had guy Fawkes there but this time we get Halloween :)

Disney sounds great Maybe!!

Hope you are all well!

Oliver has been awake since 4am  I just don't get it. He usually wakes up between 8 - 9.30 am. But even with his routine the same etc, he has been wide awake since 4am. I have no idea what to do. It's not a regular thing but I have had about three hours sleep :coffee:

I feel awful because I never normally get cross but lately it's like he's pushing all my buttons. When we go out he runs off - and when I tell him off he just laughs. Or he says sorry, gives me a hug and does it again. I don't know how I can tell him off and make him understand, he just seems to think its all a joke. Any ideas? I hate been cross with him but I can't have him running off and stuff. I'm going to start using the reins again I think, just to see if it helps. I'd rather he just held my hand but I can't trust him not to just run off.

Urgh, I'm sure it's just the lack of sleep but he's such hard work at the moment!

Sarah we have the same here, it's infuriating. I'd go back to the reins and if he objects use them as a bargaining tool, if he wants them off he has to be good. Will always has his on and I tuck the loop up when he's being good. We had the naughty stool, but he laughs and takes himself there!! Not sure what to suggest, we have good days and bad days think it's just the age. I got fed up of constantly shouting and felt bad.

Sarah, ergh, 4am isn't my favourite time of day either!! Roh has been through phases where he's been really unmanagable too. I find it really stressful. I have just had to be really firm about things, and I take away his opportunity to misbehave. If he's running off, then using the reins is a great idea, as it cuts out that whole issue. Its how I've tackled most issues, if he repeatedly does something that is unacceptable, and won't listen, I make sure he can't continue. He keeps messing with our dvds, so I've put all the ones he's allowed to play with on a seperate shelf, and made the rest inaccessible. Its working for us, as he just totally ignores me a lot of the time if I tell him off. He generally comes out of the difficult phases quite quickly, and I'm never sure if they end just because he's processed something, or if its because I've learnt to handle it. I think its fairly normal though xxx

Thanks ladies :hugs:

I just feel so mean getting cross with him, I'm not like that at all normally, but I get so frustrated when he just won't listen and I KNOW he knows what I'm saying :(

Yesterday we went shopping for some shirts for Steve, the buggy is covered in mud :haha: so Steve didn't want to take it in his nice designer shops :haha: and Oliver wanted to walk, so we let him, and he just kept running off. I was constantly chasing after him. Steve is far more relaxed about it but I don't like him out of my sight for a second! So I kept explaining to Oliver that he MUST stay with me, or I would put his reins on. He cried because he didnt want them on, then a minute later ran off again! When I caught him he just looked sad and signed and said 'Mummy put reins on' . . . . so he knew full well. Then I realised I didn't have any in my bag :dohh:

I really hope we have a good day today. Despite the running off we still had a nice day yesterday, but I'm sure his behaviour is worse when Steve is there . . . . I'm not sure why? Though Steve does let him get away with stuff more.

Roh is the same, he gets very excited when his dad is home too, so he's much harder to control!

Awwww, poor Oliver....he just came and asked for medicine and s cuddle and said his teeth hurt :) His molars are all coming through. Now he looks all sleepy. I asked him if his teeth hurt in the night and he got abut upset so I think that might be the problem :( Calpol before bed tonight!!

Oh bless him! Roh struggled with the last molars too, we had some really disturbed nights. Hopefully calpol will do the trick!

Last night was much better :happydance:

It's so cold today! We really need to go to the post office this morning too, brrrrr!! Then later on I think we're going to Nostel Priory (national trust place) to play in the leaves. I should send Oliver with my parents really and stay here and get some ironing done, but they do a great hot chocolate at nostel :haha:

Sarah, sounds like a perfect day! Sod the ironing. Its going to be rainy tomorrow so do it then I say! :)

I've been doing a bit of gentle sleep training with F as her sleep was getting silly (awake every hour and a half all night) and she's now slept through 2 nights in a row! Its SUCH a big change! :)

Wow emera! That's great :) we still have one waking a night but otherwise he's good.
Sarah you must have much better weather than us then-it's so blowy and rainy out we would be mad to step out the door!!! X

Sarah hope you had fun and sacked off the ironing!!

Mork, one night feed, I'm so jealous. Ava is up almost every hour. I had her in with me in the early hours. Laying so still kills my hips for some reason so I don't really sleep. She started so well on the sleep front!

Emera, how are you doing it??
