Yeah i have seen the posts and i was HUGE when i was pregnant i still managed too open the door without much trouble fat people manage it every day what just because someones pregnant that means they cant open a door properly, i think not!

even with that sexy ass belt on of yours and your crutches!

Exactly! People can think im narrow minded all they want but the fact is iv been in the same situation as alot of you and i still dont think its right parking in them spaces because let me tell u getting a newborn in and out of the car is ALOT harder than getting out of the car with a bump spd and crutches!!

Sorry Zara I have to disagree with that! You obviously werent THAT bad then:shrug: Getting my baby, pram and 3 other kids out of the car is so damn easier than me getting out of the car at 34 weeks and severley affected with SPD.
It was sheer agony for me to walk, but driving was ok, it only affected me when I walked and opened my legs past a certain point, so yes I did park in those Mother & baby/child spaces and if one of those werent available I'd take my chances and park in a disabled spot....and would again, so shoot me! I wasn't suffering any more than I had to for a pint of milk, which btw you cant actually order on its own over the internet...so had to get off my arse to go get it. :winkwink:

Nice post- completely agree and well said! Xxx

No, I would never park in the parent/child space if I didn't have a child, even if I was pregnant.
It used to wind me up when Harry was a baby and the spaces were all full with an adult in the passenger seat parked up with kids in the back!!
Even now that Harry is 5 (and I can still park in them), if it is busy at Sainsburys I won't use the space. He is 5, he has road sense so I park elsewhere and leave the spaces for people who lift car seats out of the car and need the wide spaces to open doors.
I don't need it - Harry puts his own seatbelt on...

Boony- the tesco I go to are happy for me to park in their p+c spaces, the have bought things out to me in the past, as i have to shop alone... and are always happy to help. I would go asda all the time and park close or in expectant mums parking but the asda takes ages to get to, even though parking is better there.

Well what this threads told me is everyone had diffrent opinons and deals with things diffrently, Like the other ladys say park wereever you want no one can stop you i guess as long as the spaces arnt "policed" if you like then anyone can park there, expectant mother spaces would be a good idea, so would giving disabled badged too ladies with trouble walking but hey ho shit happens doesnt it :)

edit: I still suffer with my SPD now btw so yeah it was alot easyer for me not having too lift a car seat! probably why i find it harder now!

My auntie when she was pregnant used too drive round and round trying too find a space on the end then one day a guy told her she can park in the s+c spaces so i think some shops do allow it, but then just because its allowed doesnt mean i think its right she still didnt use them, she knows exactly how hard when the spaces are full she has 6 kids!

hope its fucked off for blackpool these heels i have are KILLERS!

Interesting points.

Personally, if someone had parked so close to my car (that's obviously got children as occupants) that I struggled to get my kids in once I'd finished shopping- I'd make sure I opened the car door onto theirs (without damaging mine!) If they don't want a damaged car - learn to park! Some people just throw cars into parking spaces without even trying to straighten up etc.

I don't park in mother and parent spaces, they are always full anyway at my local Tesco. At the smaller Tesco I have parked in a mother & baby space once, car park was dead and my blood sugar level had dropped so far I wasn't sure if I was going to make it to the checkout! Ended up grabbing hot cross buns at the entrance and shoving them in my gob before I got to the till! Lol

I don't think I'd mind if I saw a (heavily) pregnant woman parking in a mother and baby space, but that might change once I've had my baby!

yeah it will ease over time, I still get mine now and then but nowhere near as bad as when he was 3 months....and I'm dying to see these shoes!

The phyiso said it should ease off like but iv had a bad back since beeing pregnant with charlie dont think that will ever go, just kinda get used too it tho i think! I shall take a photo of these shoes and post it in the bp thread! I can hardly walk in them pretty sure there almost 6inches  iv been practicing around the house hahaha

Ok, well for me, When I see mothers with children that park in expectant mums parking and are not (well they do not look pregnant) I think "fine they have kids its ok" I just dont really mind atall Even when its meant I have not got a space, luckily I Found one close anyway- but mothers that have children refuse to give the same grace to pregnant women, I guess maybe I sympathise too much with other people, I always go late at night as I dont want the business of the day so I have never been in a situation of fighting for a p+c space, so i dont know what I would do if that was the case.

with tesco stores i think its must be up to the store manager because the tesco my mum and dad work in are very strict about it and do not allow it. So beware just because one tesco allow doesnt mean they all do i always report people to my tesco esp if they have no kids or if they have kids with them but they have left them in the car whilst they just pop in!

I think if they have both these type of spaces they should make it pregnant/mothers and young children then this wouldnt be an issue! I mean do you ladies they think preggo women shoudnt park there, think its ok when a car pulls up with 3 teenagers in the car? i don tthink thats fair atall, there is no equiptment to get out and no pregnancy illness to deal with, but TECHNICALLY they are children still. So they are allowed to park. Thats not fair either. But thats just the way it is.

i have never seen an expectant mother space! ever! there obv isnt many of em around.

Park where you want... but if your a white van man snooping on a pregnant ladies and mummies forum then ruuuuunnn... i hate you with my life and will win one day haha

Ive seen quite a few EM spaces mainly at asda and Babies R us Larger stores which is nice..

Now that I am bigger I will park in one if it is available.. I only shop late at night though and by that point there are usually loads available.

I'm not arsed who parks where, there are much more important things to worry about in life!

I actually can't believe people openly admit to slamming their car doors into others and damaging them on purpose. Disgusting!

Oxford CC give disabled parking badges to ladies with SPD  Unfortunately by the time I found that out it was too late!

I did use them once or twice, was on crutches for 3 months and my DH works away so sometimes didn't have a choice but to go on my own. Generally I would get helped by nice shop workers though :)

 amy hows this one for ya....one of the ladies here has a BLUE van from the out side it looks like a normal blue transit van but inside its full of seats and car seats!!! i shall warn her too stay away from you
