PS4 gaming headset?

Ok I'm a total dunce when it comes to gaming but I'm looking to get DH a new headset from DS for xmas. At the moment he's using the cheap Turtle Beach P4C headset which even I can see is pretty crap, but it was only £20 so not surprising. He plays the multi player RPGs so just got them to have a microphone I think.

Really want to get him some proper wireless surround sound ones but am getting very confused by the options! I gather there is an issue with some of the wireless ones not being properly wireless with the PS4 as they need a wire from the headset to the controller, so I'd rather not have this if possible. Other than that I'm stuck! I only have about £100 to spend. Game have got an 'exclusive' TB headset available on pre order for £99 which looks good but it doesn't seem to say when it's actually due to be released, and I don't know if I should wait incase it goes cheaper nearer xmas or whether it's likely to sell out if I don't pre order, and of course there are no reviews.

OH uses these https://www.plantronics.com/uk/product/rig?skuId=sku6650011 for his gaming.

You can use the rig to switch the rig to activate different outputs (can have your phone plugged into it as well and if you receive a call you talk using the headset).
And compared to the price from what I paid in April to what they are now, I feel like strangling myself with them!

I'm getting DH the sevens... they are the best imo. HOWEVER I only know xbox so I don't even know if the sevens (turtle beach) are for the playstation

Thanks ladies. I think the sevens are just for xbox, the PS4 version is £260 so a bit over my budget lol. The plantronics ones are wired and because of his set up they need to be wireless, but thanks for the link. Pity as they're half the price of the other ones. Still no word on the release date of the TB ones, it was supposed to be the 10th October apparently but it still just says coming soon.

It's the TB website that says coming soon and 'ready to ship 10th October' - I think not lol. Game says pre-order and 'coming in 2 days' but when I click on pre-order it pops up a message which says out of stock, doesn't even let me pre-order. On their fb page people are complaining that it's been saying 2 days for weeks and they haven't had an update to say why they're late. They've replied saying they're having a few supply issues but they should be available this week. I'll need to keep an eye on the TB website because they're wanting £99 as well but I've got a 10% off code.

These are the other ones I've got bookmarked, I wasn't sure how clear the microphone would be because it's built into the ear parts and the reviews are a bit mixed for that, but the reviews are good for the sound. And on amazon questions someone mentions the microphone not picking them up clearly and turns out they have them on back to front so I'm thinking this is probably true of the other bad reviews too
