Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Yes, you need hugs Tansey! Had forgotten how difficult the TWW can be. Take care.

Babytots - seems like you've made a lot of progress!

Hope everyone has a good halloween - fertility spells, anyone?

oh so sorry to hear you have started spotting tansey. i hope it isnt af and a bit of implantation bleeding.

smiler hope you have a good halloween too. you have anything nice planned. we are taking the girls to a halloween fair on the friday as its 99p a ride as opposed to full price on the saturday. then saturday we are going to my mums as my nearly 5 yr old cousin (who lives with my mum) wants to do a little party.

well i have finally ovulated not sure when got a +opk on saturday and sunday then ran out of opks and got ewcm yesterday so anywhere between sunday and today i guess. x

Hi ladies - well finally got another BFP and docs sprung into action 4 weeks today and yesterday got a test - positive, got a prescription of Aspirin and progesterone. Dont think its a chemical AF due today and tests getting darker since Sunday.

Have already been booked into midwife for 4th November and scan booked for two weeks !.

Im praying and hoping the care plan works as dont want loss number 5 dont think I would cope xx

PS not properly announcing yet !

Keeping everything crossed for all you ladies TTC :dust:

I am finally seeing my consultant on Thursday. I'm 10 weeks now so am really upset that I've been left until now. My doctor had to push the hospital to get the consultant to see me (consultant had been on holiday from the time I was 6 weeks) and his secretary said she'd told me what to do... I don't think so!!! He's protective of his patients apparently but that didn't help me did it?! So frustrating. I know my mc tests were clear but I was told to book to come in at 6-8weeks. All I wanted was to speak to someone/anyone about my options e.g. taking cyclogest pessaries etc. NOw because I've got to this stage I don't know what I'll do.... do I want to risk the cyclogest when all seems ok so far?

I tell you one thing, if something goes wrong they will get the mother of all complaint letters.... hopefully it won't come to that but am so cross. Sorry, just had to vent my frustration.

I really hope that you ladies have a better time of it when you get your :bfp:
Sounds like you are being looked after well Tansey :hugs:

Sounds like you are getting all the help you need to get a sticky bean this time. Keeping everything crossed for you Fluffyblue :hugs:

P.S - I didn't properly announce or go on the 1st trimester for ages either xx

Widger apparently the Cyclogest doesnt do any harm even if not needed thats what doc told me I started em yesterday and have to take them till 12 weeks xx

Ooooh, best wishes to you pregnant ladies! Really wishing good things for you and your little beans.

Widger - hope your appointment at the consultant's goes well. HOw bad that you've been messed about - maybe it's worth complaining whatever happens! The consultant from whom I got the cyclogest said that after 10 weeks or so the placenta takes over hormone production, so it's not needed anymore - maybe you're at that point, hope so. But as fluffy blue says it's not harmful.

Tansey - sorry that this wasn't your month, hope the next cycle's a good one. I have had issues with ovulation tests too - the internet cheapies don't always show up the LH surge, think it makes a difference if you drink too much water - they also say you shouldn't have peed for a few hours before the pee for the test! I had better results this month with these tips from ladies elsewhere on this site. It is a god-send!

Take care girls.

OMG Fluffyblue that's fantastic news honey :happydance:

:dust:

XXXX

Huge congrats Fluffy! :yipee:

Widger - how did it go today? :hugs:

Had my appointment yesterday. My doc is really nice - the same one I saw last time and even though there was loads of ladies waiting she spent about 40mins with me and Mum as DH away.

So the low down - all my tests came back clear apart from the karyotyping because the nurses took the blood using the wrong vial on 1st September and the letter has been sitting in my file since then She was very apologetic and gave me the forms to get them done again. She said i don't need aspirin at this point.
The other thing was the scrapings that they took from my lining (polyps and endo tissue) - the camera and photos showed it enlarged and 'fluffy' looking and the lab said I have a chronic infection. I have had swabs recently and in the past and nothing was ever picked up. They didn't say what is was - don't know if they know? Anyway i've got two strong antibiotics to take for two weeks, cost £14.40 - haven't paid for a prescription for ages and was well No drinking coz they make you really sick

so the infection could be what caused my left fallopian tube to twist and block - yes I am a one tuber! However I have two working ovaries and apparently my right tube can carry eggs from my left ovary too! She said the left ovary was probably enlarged coz I'd ovulated/was in lp at the time of the op. If I get pregnant I am to be seen by the EPAU at 6weeks to make sure baby is in the right place as I can be more at risk of ectopic.

I have moderate endo on the top of the uterus around the bladder and on the womb ligaments.
My big fibroid is in the wall and so not impinging on my uterus so they don't see it as a problem at this point.

She wasn't concerned about the spotting Just asked if it was better since the op and I said no the same if not worse!

Doc said with the lining scraped and the tubes flushed and the antibiotocs the next three months is the most likely time when i am going to get pregnant. She will see me in three months or would rather see me at antenatal clases instead

She answered all my Qs but I didn't have to ask many, it was like she read my mind. I didn't ask about clomid or IVF or anything coz i'm back in three months and need to get rid of infection first. I did ask about CD2-4 bloods and I think she was shocked that I hadn't had it so I reminded her that where I live they won't fund anything (i'm using a cheshire hopital but live in staffordshire). So i went back and had cd2 bloods today and will have CD21 bloods. This is great so i know about my egg reserve/quality and whether I am ovulating for defo.

When I went to reception to book my 3 month appointment she said '27th Jan?' and must have seen my Mum's and my face drop, and she said you want Dec really don't you She actually overbooked to fit me in for 16th Dec!

So will have to tell new job i need an afternoon off 16th Dec and then i'm not sure what to do about CD21 test coz I won't know for sure when I OV and so i'll have to take a chance that I will OV on CD14 and go on CD21. I'll just take the morning off and hope i get to work on time - I'm going to be living at least 2hours away but I don't want to interrupt the good care I'm getting.

So I think that is all!

Tansey - I'm glad you are getting your CD21 blood taken finally and hope it will give you the results you want. All the other tests sound good that they are clear and that the slight endo you have, and fibroid don't seem to be getting in the way. I'm sure your results will be the same for karyotyping - clear. Just take AGES to come back. I hope that your infection gets sorted with the antibiotics that you are taking. Did they not give some indication of what it might be then? You are having great care so you are right.... you come first, not work xx

I went to the hospital on Thursday and my consultant was LIVID with his secretary and lack of urgency on her behalf. He said that I should have been booked in at 6 weeks before he went on holiday and there was really no excuse for it. Anyway, although it doens't help me now, it did make me feel at least he was on my side. Hope he also gives his secretary an earbashing silly old boot.

Anyway, he said that taking cyclogest probably wasn't a good idea as everything seems well established at the moment and that I need to chase up my 12 week scan. Good job I did as they don't have my GPs referal (bloody royal mail) so I filled out self-referal forms and having blood taken next Thurs and scan on 10th Nov. I am so scared and worried that something wrong again but at least I have a date to finally find out if all is well. The good news is also that this consultant will look after me if I do get past 12 week stage. So, that is it for now. I really hope to be able to post something positive in 10 days or so xx

Hi ladies well back again looks like number 5 !

What really pisses me off is all this could have been avoided if I was being monitored properly not just left to basically pick my own feckin treatment.

We all know there is nothing wrong with my fertility i.e, conceiving its the holding it thats the problem. Ive now found out ive been seeing a bloody fertility specialist who doesnt deal with RMC ! I mean WTF !!!!! I have wasted 3 bloody months and two miscarriages in that time. Im devestated that my baby could have been saved.

So I went to GP last nite who is referring me again and im back at EPU tomorrow for another HCG test but I dont hold much hope as i am "watery" bleeding and lots of creamy sticky stuff coming out !

SO tomorrow I am gonna really really make sure I get that referral straight away as I have all the potions now clomid to help me ovulate, aspirin for blood and progesterone for hormone - the nurse (who seemed to tell me more in 5 mins than the doc did in 3 months) seems to think I need the HCG shots AFTER ovulation and she was the one who told me I was seeing the wrong specialist but GP confirmed that they all "talk to each other" so my gynea could refer me to RMC straight away. I hope so becuase as you guys know I have been pregnant 3 times in 5 months so its not a problem that bit it just doesnt bloody grow when its stuck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So for now im gonna read this thread page for page and get a rake of questions and go armed. So see you soon xxx

Fluffy I'm so so sorry to hear your news and I'm so sorry that you're not being helped as much as you should be. I hope you get some answers and soon too. Big hugs to you. I wish I could be more help... :hugs: xxx

Fluffy, I just remembered that I posted this on my blog a while ago... I don't know if it will be of any help to you, but I guess its worth questioning your Dr about it... https://babyloss.wordpress.com/2009/10/20/cells-research-recurrent-miscarriage-hope/ :hugs: xxx

:hugs: Keeping everything crossed. I can't believe how incompetent they have been. Every hospital has a RMC specialist. Thinking of you xx

So sorry fluffyblue. Doc's need to remove their heads from their asses sometimes.
