Tattoos

I've got the one at the moment, on my lower back. It's DH's name and our wedding date (28.6.05) and the kids names and DOBs. The star represents a termination I had at 15 (Loooong story, I didn't want to do it and it's caused me so much hurt and pain over the years). The pic was taken just after it was done (It wasn't by a professional, but a trainee, I'm pleased with it though!).

I really want to have something that's just for me and me & DH are going to get the same tattoo in the same place on our bodies, we're not sure what yet though.

I currently have one tattoo - I got it as a 30th birthday present to myself. It's a lily in the centre of my lower back, with a green swirly design coming off both sides. When I get a chance I'll get my DH to take a pic of it. I'm also planning my next tattoos. I'm fussy about where they'll go and what they'll be of, as I need to be able to hide them for work. I'm thinking something to commemorate my MC and struggles with TTC. I'm also thinking a big fuck off dragon on my thigh - but I'll probably leave that one for a while...

Sam, did it hurt on your foot? I have three (arms and leg), none of which hurt at all, really, but want to get one on my foot... Actually I don't suppose it matters how much it hurts, because I really want it!!!
I'm thinking of getting something similar to this... Not the same, obviously, but this is the general idea of what I want.

Funnily enough i was talking to my tattooist about something similar to that today. Its a really pretty design.
The only really bad bit was the bit that went to the side of my foot where it says 'thought' and where it says 'afraid'. The rest of it wasnt tooo bad!
Its def worth it, especially with summer coming up, it can be showed off in sandals..... go for it hun!

Yeah, I was going to wait for summer to do it (it's just coming into winter here!) but I'm really hoping I'll be pregnant then. My OH has an appointment in a couple of weeks for more work on his back, so I'm thinking I might just hijack it

Me and my hubby have to battle for tattoo time!! Weve got a rota of taking it in turns!!
Use the excuse that you need to get yours soon becausue you will hopefully be pg soon and get him to give you his appt!!!!

We're supposed to take turns too, but OH has had the last 5 appointments, working on his back piece. I reckon he's probably got at least another 4 sessions before it's done... It seems only right that I butt in and get mine.

Oooooh, tattoo thread

I don't even know how many I have anymore. After working in a tattoo studio for over a year and just tattooing each other when we had a spare minute, I kinda lost count

Soo.. I have: 3 blue stars on each foot, a heart on my right ankle which my sister did when she was 10 Around that is an anchor (self done). I have 3 cherry blossoms on my right thigh (also self done), a tribal lower backpiece (which I don't like anymore, but hey), a vampire glyph at the back of my neck, swallows on the backs of my wrists, black stars on my right hand and arm, along with the words 'ad astra' (to the stars), a phoenix on my left boob/chest area, and a nautical star in my cleavage Oooh, ooh, and a peony on my right shoulder. I THINK thats it.

I have 4 in total, one on my ankle, one on my shoulder, one on the bottom of my back and OH's name at the bottom of my neck ... want to get Brookes name somewhere but i am really fussy about tattoo's being able to be covered up easily with clothing

Im exactly the same, i have 2, my name on my stomach(which i totally regret) and paw prints on base of my back. Really want to get Jessica and her dob but im also funny about it being able to be covered so not sure where to get it. Is the back of neck really sore? Kx

I have had some colouring done, but not got a picture of it! I dont no when im getting it finished, depends when both me and the tattooist have some spare time at work! But because its coming upto summer, its been wayyyyy busy xx

I am wanting to get another tattoo done, but this time on my wrist, after I get married in August. I do have some questions first though, and hoping someone on here can help!

1. Is it better to get the tattoo on top side or under side of wrist?
2. Is it possible to have a tattoo done in cursive, without any black outline. All I want is a pink/purple ink for the whole thing. I am very fair skinned and don't want it to stand out very much.
3. Is there a difference in pain having either side done over the other (top or bottom wise)

Hey huni xx I work in a tattoo studio (im a body piercer, not tattooist but, I pick it all up)

1) Top of the wrist due to less rubbing, on the bottom its more prone to being rubbed as you rest your wrist down.
2) You can get it done without an outline.... BUT, the colour has the tendancy to sort of run out? not majorly or anything like that, but, its enough to make the tat not look so neat. You can get a different coloured outline though.
3) Pain wise... its totally different on each person. One person will tell you the bottom hurts more, where as the next will say the bottom kills.

WOW that is some artwork. Looks absolutely fantastic. I have no tattoos and it still doesn't persuade me to have any, but I love looking at the them especially those that have had a lot of work put into them. Can't wait to see the next stage with colour
