So....update. Scan went great today! Heard the heartbeat! Ultrasound tech said things look great. She took a great 3-D picture which is amazing! She even measured me as a full week ahead! 8w3d instead of 7w4d...so I've passed 6w4d and 7w4d by a long shot! :) She has my due date as April 7...so I get to meet w/ my Dr. on September 13 and she will make everything official I think.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers today! We really felt God's presence with us!

God is good!! What an amazing u/s pic! I've never seen a 3d of a baby at that stage.. a lil gummy bear for sure!! I'm soooo happy for you!!! :hugs:

I do Lovenox injections for MTHFR. The first week doing it was brutal, but now it is no big deal. I'm used to it and it is just part of my routine. Get ready for bed, shoot up, go to sleep... You will do find!

Crystal, What is MTHFR? I know this is serious but I always think of Mother-F***er when I see it...

Haha, that is what everyone seems to think! It is a gene mutation that makes it hard for you to absorb folic acid and can also cause blood clots. It stands for a really super long word that I would never remember if I tried :haha:

Mememe, maybe having MTHFR is a Mother-F***er.

FXed for you!

Hey all!

Hope everyone is doing well :)

I am getting a bit worried as I know you arent supposed to sleep on your back when preggers but I go to sleep on my side and wake up on my front or back. Lying on my back isnt quite as concerning at this point but my front is. Because of the bump it is painful to even attempt lying on my front when awake, but somehow I manage to sleep like it and I worry I am squishing the baby??! Anyone with any current or prior experience that could give me some advice? Am imagining I am going to have to start building buffers of pillows down each side of me so I can only lie on my side inbetween them.

Busy day today, have got to clean out all my pet cages, its gonna take FOREVER :( Have tried to put it off so far by watching tv, internet, tried booking a hair cut, making a list for holiday.....

Hi Zomo,

I actually just asked my dr this on Tuesday... Sometimes I find myself on my back or right side in the middle of the night or in the morning... He said left is better, but it's not a big deal if you find yourself there... He said if for any reason the baby isn't getting enough oxygen, you will know because you will feel out of breath. He also said just enjoy sleeping whichever way you can right now because later on you will be soooooo uncomfortable in any position.... So get your sleep now while you can. Hope this helped. :flower:

Hey zomo, I agree with Heather, any sleep at this point is good and baby will let you know if it's being hurt. Rem baby is in a big squishy sac of fluid and there's a lot of room for organs to move out of baby's way too. I am trying to sleep on my left but find myself on my bk generally when I wake.
Xxx

Zomo as far as im aware there is no problem with rolling onto your front if you are able to tolerate the discomfort. That won't be a problem soon anyway as your bump grows it will be impossible to sleep on your front. The advice is not to sleep on your back from 17 weeks as the pressure of the weight of your uterus can press on your arteries and veins which may reduce the bloodflow to the baby. It is safe to sleep on your back if you have a pillow under one side of your back which tilts the weight from one side. If sleeping on your side its best to havs a pillow under your bump and between your knees as this will releive the pressure on your hips. There are pillows that support your whole body and wedge shaped ones to put under your bump.

But don't worry if you wake up in the night and your on your back the chances of compressing theveins are small and you would recognise the signs which are your heart would be beating faster and working harder than normal and you may feel slightly out of breath or short of breath. If that happena lie on your left hand side take some deep breaths and thins will return to normal pretty quickly x
