TTCAL Mommies To Be - Chit Chat Thread

I definitely had mixed emotions. DH is freaking out which is making me sick with worry. The worse part is we would have to change day cares. Addyson is at our church now, it took over a year to get her in, she just started there in September and I love it. We can afford two to go there but not three. Where we live there isn't a lot of options. I had a really hard time believing this pregnancy would be viable, my symptoms weren't that strong, now this plus DH freaking out....I actually cried last night and then again on my way to work.

:hugs: Tiger, I can imagine it's hard to get your head round everything at the moment. I am sure Try will have some good advice to offer and reassure you.

Hello girls - so glad to seeyou're all still around and all these babies are doing well. Many apologies for not keeping in touch, just never seems to be enough time in the day but as today is "wave of light" day I made the effort to log on and catch up a bit with all of you who were so brilliant at helping me through when times were so hard. I am ever thankful for that and will always keep you in my heart and in my prayers.

Little Eleanora was one last week and we had the most wonderful first birthday with her as I hope you have/ had with your little ones.
Much love xx

Oh wow Tiger - that's a bit of news. My fingers are tightly crossed for you and hoping your OH comes to terms quickly. I'm sure you'll find a way round the daycare problem before they get here

Awww Chilli lovely to hear from you, I lit a candle this am for all our little ones (forgot to blow it out when i went out, whoops luckily burnt out itself)

Blue, at least were you able to get away this year! I have to watch my paid time off with work. Perhaps next year we can take a long weekend to the beach.

Try, that's aweful! I'm so sorry things didn't go better at Disney. That is not a cheap vacation either to have so much shut down! Completely unfair that they don't notify people of these things so they can plan accordingly.

Yeah, dd is a year old now!!!! She had a great b-day! She did well with her smash cake, the icing was really only on her hands and face, she practically didn't any of it in her hair! She took a few steps here and there a couple of weeks before her b-day but a couple days later, she really took off! It's amazing to watch her grow. Now we're expecting our second May 10th. I haven't been to the doctors yet. After a few mc and Addyson, I just didn't see the point of adding to the bill in the first trimester since they can't do anything for you in preventing a loss especially since at work I can get an ultrasound for free! And that's exactly what I did today being 9wks just to find out I'm having identical twins! CRAZY! So Try, any advice!?!

Ummmm...HOLY SHIT!!! lmao  Is all I have to say! Oh yes, and if money is tight at all now, it only gets so much more expensive with two babies at once....plan ahead and plan accordingly!

Are you planning on working with three children under 2?......I personally cannot afford to pay daycare my paycheck plus some, which is why I am a stay at home mom now!!!

And congrats on the baby walking, mine are taking stepns now too!!! :)

If you breastfeed baby number 1, then money will sure be saved by breastfeeding the twins.....if you can. Mine were born without the sucking reflex and dint suck properly til 8 weeks, by then my milk wasnt coming in fast enough for them.....plus they had to be on high calorie formula (supplemented w/ breast milk) until 6 months....for me the easiest part was when they were infants, now its rough since they are into everything! Its weird....with my dd my favorit parts started after 6 months...this time, with the twins, its before 6 months!

I am not fortunate enough to get hand me downs from others kids for mine, but if you can, do it.

I will try and think of more when there is more time, but for now I have to run....Someone shit.....again. lol

Just remember our struggles with conception and loss. Babies, no matter 'when' in our lives, 'who' the are with, or 'how' many at once, are given to us for a reason, just as they are taken away in utero for a reason. Ultimately, this is gift. You both will be fine. But I strongly suggest planning ahead!!
xxoo

Oh yeah, holy crap is right! I'm just going with the flow right now. I think the constant worry has left Jeff too. He finally sold his camaro he swore he never would but he barely drove it since it was a gas guzzler. With that he was able to pay a good chunk of the loan left from the addition. I wish there was a way to pay off my car before the twins come but unless I sell my engagement ring, I don't see that as a possibility. Neither one of us make enough money for the other to stay home b.c of my horrendous school debt. I know we'll need a plan, I just don't know what it is yet.

I pray I can make it to 38wks but I've heard with identicals its rare. So hopefully I can breast feed again. I do have a plan for that! I'll bf one and bottle feed the other then switch with the next feeding.

Today I have my first ob apt and official US (the US I did last week was at work).

Tiger, I think with good planning and patience yo guys will be fine, but God Bless Ya!!! :)

How was your official appointment and ultrasound?.... xoxo

Blue, hey girlfriend how are you and Isaac?.....

BTW, Preston has 8 teeth now, Kiera has 3...Kiera tried to stand and walk all day everywhere she can!!! Preston is not interested as of yet in walking!

Hi :hi: Oh try we have all been really sick with a bug we caught. It was horrible but we are all feeling much better now!

Bless your babes, I can't believe they are going to be one soon. Prob good thing Preston not interested yet as having two to chase about will be hard work!

I am curious Tiger, are you an ultrasound sonographer?.....If so, I guess I'd be always checking on my belly!!! :winkwink:

:flower:

How is everyone?

Twins will be 1 in less than 3 weeks. wow wow wow!
Just took them on their first hay ride and pumpkin picking! They loved it! Had them pet the animals in the petting zoo as well! Cute! Had cow's "moooo'ing at us, it was awesome!

xxoo

How come everytime I come on here someone shits???......But I guess its because someone IS always shitting!

Hey Try, we are all good here now, finally over the sickness. We have a quiet week planned just the baby group we go to on wednesday and out for lunch on Friday. I Have loads of housework that needs to be done but just can't be bothered.

Is anyone dressing babies up for Halloween? I was thinking of getting Isaac a little outfit.

Glad you guys are feeling better! :hi:

DD(7) has the Rapunzel from Tangled wedding gown and accessories (worn at disney and will use for halloween) and the twqins have minnie and mickey mouse bodysuits with their names embroidered on the stretchy hats with ears!!!! :)

Of course I am dressing mine up! I am milking it all before they grow too quick on me!!! Pretty soon my soon to be 8 year old wont be interested in this stuff anymore!

This may be the year I have to explain santa claus to her. Shes been asking questions the last 2 years....kids are tough. It seems you cant keep the magic of holidays alive for very long because someone has to ruin it! lol The kids at school have been telling her the last 2 years that santa/tooth fairy/easter bunny etc isnt real.... Booooo. I was hoping to keep the magic with her for a few more years...UGH!

Oh why can't they stay young and innocent for ever. I can't remember when I found out about santa etc. I still believe I saw him in our hallway :haha:

My stepfather was an arse and told me when I was like 7 or 8 because I seen him and my uncle carrying in bags of gifts for my sister and I. Ugh. He proceeded to tell me everything wasnt real. Ass.

I wish I couldkeep the magic alive, but it is what it is. School kids spread the word around....

Blue, I'm glad everyone is feeling better! I bought a jack o lantern outfit for Addyson. I wish I could have found just a pumpkin since we call her pumpkin but close enough!

Try, I'm not a sonographer myself but we have one in our office and she's sweet enough to check me whenever I want.

To avoid the heart of our kids finding out things we told them aren't true, we are going to present the idea of Santa Clause as a tradition but not as a real thing. Its still fun to be apart of Christmas with the cookies, the tree, and the presents that to me it will still be magical for them.

I want to post an ultrasound pic from my 10wk apt since there's a nice picture of the.two of them together there but I keep forgetting to have dh scan it for me. This week at 11wks I went to the specialist and he said it appears that baby B's umbilical cord is attached to the edge of the placenta (marginal insertion) which could compromise the blood flow to that baby. It might not but baby B is measuring 4 days behind. So I go back to the specialist at 15wks and every two weeks after to monitor their growth. On top of this marginal insertion there's a chance of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) which is blood flow crossing from one baby to another instead of the placenta due to them sharing the placenta. So this is going to be a very long pregnancy.
