Welcome to the 'Two Week Wait'

I had to have a pap every year in the US, because of the bcp and because I had a weird one once (but it turned out to be nothing, had normal pap two weeks later). Here in the UK, I had one when I first arrived, but I thought it was so weird that it was only every three years...

P.S. Yay appleseed!! :)

oh like a smear test over here?? i was due one (every 3 years) but because I was pregnant they didn't do it under 6 months after giving birth!

Really? Yes, it's called a pap smear here. We have to get them here every year, but I haven't had one since September 2010 as I went off birth control and the doctor said I was fine as I had no history of any cancers and I'm so young.

I'll make sure that it's a necessary thing before I let them do anything, but I've read that it's pretty much the norm here for your first prenatal visit.

Ohh a smear test i get it now too :) , same as you Gemmy i didn't have one until 6 months after my first Son was born and every 3 years after. and i never had an internal examination until just before Labour ,(hate that word Labour) ouch ;)

I know milton keynes , well i've heard of it :) I used to live in Berkshire south east England you know it?

have you just got the one little man Gemmy?

so Sarah :) names which ones are you thinking on?

I could not sleep last night because of the wind and i was lying there thinking about baby names, Martha, Iris, Maggie, Erin, Edith , Lucy , Molly is my favourite, Boys are sooo hard to pick!! my hubby picked our second sns name i just couldnt think of one

Yes exactly the same re. smear tests/internal during labour - nhs I suppose! Yes labour - ouch - new born baby - amazing!

I have heard of Berkshire but not been there. Did you have both your boys there? I do have one little man - aged 18 months already! Has flown past. Yes it is pretty windy here too!

Haha. I read the "appleseed" and was like "What? Appleseed? What does that mean?" Then I realized, lol. Next week, it'll be a sweet pea!! And by the time I have my u/s, it'll be a blueberry! My hubby hates when I compare it to food, but that's the easiest way to know the size. I've been eating apples all day and keep taking out the seeds and looking at them, lol.

Gemmy - I did tell my parents about my miscarriage shortly after they got back from their trip. I told both of my sisters later on when they were discussing bridesmaid dresses. They kept going on and on about how I was making them wait to order the dresses because we were TTC and that they weren't even sure I could get pregnant. So I just kind of blurted it out that I knew I could get pregnant because I had just lost the baby. That sure shut them up.

Laura - I've come up with a few names. For a girl, we're looking at Olivia, Claire, Anna, Hannah, Ellie, and Sophia. For a boy, we're looking at Robert, Jacob, Peter, and Henry. I feel like it's a girl, but my husband feels like it's a boy. I guess we'll know in about 13 weeks!

Yeah I bet that did shut them up! I would wait then until you are bursting. Enjoy the exciting news! As long as they aren't likely to look on baby n bump ? :\

Great names and yours too Laura. Names are tough! And you can never keep everyone happy either! So which scan can you find out the sex? Ours is the 20 week scan - the 2nd and last scan!

Well ladies - I am out this month.... got AF 2 days ago... Took it a little harder this month as I really thought it might be the one.... oh well...
Seems I have missed so much in these last few days!

Since we are all sharing - My name is Maria and I live in Toronto, Ontario... We have been trying for almost 10 years for a biological child... In 2007 we decided that we couldn't wait anymore and went through the international adoption process - and 2.5 yrs later we adopted our daughter in Jan.2010. She is almost 3 now and although I love her more than anything, I am still longing to have a biological child and of course give her a sibling.

Recently I found out that my sister (who has also had many problems conceiving, had something where her body's immune system was rejecting the embryo (killer T cells or something) and she also has the clotting factor problem (where implantation doesn't happen because of a clotting factor in your blood)- you know the reason some people take baby aspirin ....
So you can get pregnant but your body can reject before you even now you are pregnant. Well - although it hasn't been confirmed for me - I am starting to think these may be my issues too (can be genetic)... I have gone through so much in the last 10 years and they haven't been able to tell me why I can't get pregnant... so if I really want to find out I will have to pay $3000 to get special tests done at the Dr.Beer's centre in the US.... (can do via courier and with the help of a fertility specialist here).
I don't know if I want to go ahead with this - since it's not really worth doing if you aren't willing to go ahead with IVF and take tons and tons of meds... I am very into holistic medicine so that's the reason. My sister has two children now from IVM (a form of IVF - but she had to try many many many times and take tons of meds)
So that's my story!

Good luck ladies to you this month - Keri and Wendy!:flower:

Sorry to read your story dashka, can't imagine how heartbreaking that must be, 10 years is a long time. Hope and pray you get your positive one day. :dust:

Thanks Gemmy! baby dust to you too :winkwink:

I love all the names you ladies are throwing around, some more than others, but I love that they're simple, classic, not spelled you-neek-ly (get it? hehe).

Feeling discouraged today, my bbs feel totally normal, damnit. Lol. I like it when they ache, because it's not 'normal' for me every month and it makes me feel like something may be brewing... I'm about 12dpo now, and feel totally normal. Darn it darn it darn it. I know I'm not out until AF shows, but I wish I felt nauseous or... something!

Hi posey, stay confident! Wish I was 12dpo. Only 3....ages to go! Are you goig to test early or wait?

I'm back!

I missed you ladies and so much has gone on since I was gone. One day and there's so many pages to catch up on! (I love one born every minute, btw. I thought Kurt was kind of hilarious with his flipping out and wanting to go to the pub. I got where he was coming from, but I wouldn't want him in the delivery room with me either, he was waaay too excitable. Can't wait for next week. I'm very interested in water birth.)

This AF has been bizarre. I decided to take a break from temping because I was so annoyed about my last cycle, but then realized that I was warm again and figured I should keep track. My temps are much higher than usual for AF...my coverline is going to be so high this month. I suppose it doesn't matter until next month though, since DH is missing the fertile bits of the month anyway. This month I really will figure out what symptoms usually happen every month, since there is no way I'm going to get pg this cycle. That way if they happen next month, I can ignore them. But AF is already on her way out. :happydance: I didn't want her sticking around, so I'm glad she's going.

Cmon January....fly by please! Also, I second whoever said that they want to see u/s pics. I wanna see too! :) Show us the beanie! ;)

Good to see you back Ella, we missed you too! Yes January can hurry up can't it!!!

Hi Gemmy, thanks for the thoughts :) My tww flew by this time, because of all the hustle and bustle of the holidays. I might take a test tomorrow morning... I have a ! full at home, I just hate seeing the BFN. I would honestly rather wait for my AF. Maybe if I was having symptoms I would test, but I don't know... who knows, maybe I'll cave tomorrow morning and test anyways :) Are you going to test early, do you think? :dust: your way!

Thanks love! :dust: back at you! I agree, hate seeing the negative and know that I will regret testing early as I did in November. Last month I happily waited for AF - it did not drag. Think it was because I was due the week before christmas. Also I wasn't particularly confident. This month feel so impatient. I should be due mon 16th but get spots over the weekend. I will try to get to the weekend. Doesn't help now as I ordered tests along with my opk and preseed. Last month no tests in the house and was being careful with money! The other thing which worrys me with early testing is chemical pregnancys. How gutting would that be?

hey ladies, really worried about something, has anyone whos had a child already ever experienced this? I cant remember who has kids already! Be warned TMI! Two times now, when i have had a bm i have had vaginal bleeding, just a little nothing to go on my underwear, but i am very worried. I have doctors Monday, but should i see someone sooner??? thanks x

Yes both were born there, then we moved back to Ireland, so number 3 hopefully will be born here and we get 3 scans here, Ah only 18 months thats a lovely age x

I had some bleeding very small amount tho at the start of both my pregnancies and i always notice when i was on the lou, how much blood is there? i always used to worry but it can be completely normal at the start x

How old are your boys Laura?

What is a bm Charps?

it was only when i wiped, but it was fresh blood the second time :(

ah I get it now - bowel movement LOL - I just looked up on the lingo page and they have breast milk and thought that can't be right! I didn't experience that at all Charps but I'm sure you needn't worry. Are you constipated? Does it hurt? Could you be bleeding from there?

3 and 4 - lovely ages. I childmind a four year old. My son loves being around him, it's like having an older brother.

if its a little tiny bit try not to worry, but you could always call doctors in morning and ask to speak to the midwife to ask her without making an appointment x
