Beach Bump Graduates!

Ah see I am now, but I can't as i'm bleeding pure gip. I guarantee the mojo is long gone once the coast is clear!

Thanks for your comments guys, i pretty much replied along the lines Hann suggested. i think because i am feeling fragile i have taken it really personally. Oh wel, up to her to get in touch now.
(what she failed to mention is that she was actually one of the first to see him as she passed the house when we were on our way out on monday. Ok, so he was just in the car seat but still.....she got to see him a little.)

DM - I LOVE that baby grow, so cute!
I cant wait for Joshua to start fitting in 0-3, his legs are too long for the new born stuff so he looks a little trampy having had the feet cut off and socks put on!

Claire - I cant wait for the bleeding to stop either, i hate using pads and feel the need to change VERY regularly.
Have also been told i may have an infection in my stitches :(

My neck is still agony but had a better nights sleep, heres hoping for another one tonight!

xx

BB we had the same prob with Harry. He was long and scrawny!

Hello Ladies,
Just had a giggle reading through the most recent posts...

I was reading the "Bumps" thread earlier too - next sale sounds great - I have quite a bit of next clothes for both my kids (that sounds so weird - I can't believe I have 2!) that family have sent over to us. I love their clothes and Marks and Spencer's too - everything is so different to what everyone has here...

DM - Sophie's hair is gorgeous - I love it.
Doods - hope Naomi's mouth gets better soon
BB - doesn't matter what you do, there is always someone who has something to say about it...hope that is the situation done and you don't have to deal with crap like that again...

AFM - Hailey is doing really well - 5 weeks today! up to 10.5 lbs and 56cm - she is going to be a big girl :) She is still feeding well, although my flow seems to have eased up in my right boob (just the right) anyone else have/heard of this?

Funny - my little guy was asking about BF - I told him that mummies have milk in their boobies to feed their babies, he informed me that he had juice in his boobies and that Hailey could get some later!

Hope everyone has a good night with their littl'uns

I just looked at my ticker for Hailey's age - 1 month 5 days - not sure why, because she is 5 weeks = 1 month 1 week ...

gw I'm the same, "my kids" and "my daughter! just sound weird! And I got my breast pumpout earlier for a look - going to start pumping soon - and Harry played with it happily for about 20 minutes. Wrongness....

GW - Niamh is going to be a little porker she is now weighing just over 9lbs at 2 weeks 5 days. This girl cant half put it away im expressing breast milk and she takes around 4oz sometimes 5oz every / four hours.

Both your boys are so sweet.

Linds - Bet Harry will love feeding Sophie when you begin pumping. :)

cant wait! he'll love it. 4-5oz is really good! i nevermanaged to pump more than 2oz with H but I seem to have lots more this time.

Pumping is a full time job, i really wish she would of latched as my life would be easier but no such luck. It took some dedication to get my supply up to that amount. She gets 4 BF feeds a day and two formula, usually formula at night as it sits heavier in her tummy so she sleeps longer. She is a real little fatty now, proper little michelin man arms and legs!

Claire i am doing similar with FF/BF. Ther formula just keeps him so much happier, for a lot longer. He's happy and gaining weight so we cant be doing too bad...

i tried to express last night and normaly i get about 3oz a day out of me and for some reason i could only get 1 1/2oz out of me last night.... is my milk drying up or is it down to the stress im under? i latched Flynn on this morning and he was on both for 15mins then he wanted the 1 1/2oz i expressed...

So glad you're both doing well. The first weeks are so hard but ain't it worth it when they weigh baby and they're packing it on, even if there was a slow start.

Georgie- N is much happier on the formula too but I feel quilty and the feeding her bm is more about meeting my needs (guilt) than it is about hers as she would be
in a better routine if it was just formula. But then I suppose she would t be getting the goodness from the breast milk. Either way as long as baby is happy I don't think it matters :)

Anna- no idea really I luckily have a really good supply. But I think of you want to increase it you just have to pump more.

i'll see what i can do as i'm worried that he might not be getting enought from me, hes having my milk and formula but he still likes my milk at night times and breakfast :-D

Anna if hes still hungry keep him on the boob rather than giving him a bottle of expressed or your body wont know tomake more milk for him x

i read that you keep them on boobie till they unlatch thereselfs as its a sign that there full but he unlatches from one after about 20mins and wants the other boob about the same time and still wants more...

OK, I weighed myself this morning, I have just under 2 stone to loose........ I have a wobbly tummy still......... and I smell of baby sick.......... but I'm so happy! :)

N's thrush has gone which is great- she seems so much better today!

GW- my left boob seems to have less in whereas my right felt like a rock this morning and was pouring out! :dohh: I'm hoping my supply is ok- I got 3oz from my right this morning but only a couple of drops from my left! Despite my last feed being from my right.... odd... You're not alone with that anyway!

Argh, baby hiccups are annoying enough when on the inside but just plain infuriating on the outside. Joshy gets really cross when they wont go away!

Question - IF i want to slow down the BF and up the FF how do i slow down my supply? Guessing i dont just stop expressing etc?

If he unlatches it might just be a rest. I keep Soph on one boob til I cant squeeze any milk out by hand when she unlatches. The more milk they try and get, the more you will produce. He might be having agrowth spurt (normal at 3 weeks I believe) so will be on the boob a LOT more often than usual to increase supply.

BB yeah you will find that you get a certain amount of engorgement when you slow up on the bfing - don't be tempted to express it as youu'll just keep producing! I found lying front down in a hot bath eased enough milk out to relieve the engorgement - it sorts itself out in 2 days. x
