Beach Bump Graduates!

Hann -- Wow, 70/40 is low! Mine wouldn't register on the cuff the first time the nurse tried and was 105/41 the second time she did it at my OB appt yesterday. That 41 freaked me out a bit but the OB wasn't concerned at all. At the time I wasn't dizzy or anything so I guess my body is coping fine with it. She said she'd be concerned if I was cold and clammy and dizzy but otherwise she only cares about it being high. I'm quite dizzy here and there, once a week or so, so I guess it's dipping lower at times. If I wasn't so stressed out at work keeping my BP as high as it is, I'd apparently be dead! :haha: And I agree carriers are more an accessory for mom. :winkwink: I have a purple Beco, a green Ergo, and a grey/green mei tai, all purchased because they were what I liked without any consideration at all for babies. :haha: Maisie also often wears "boy" clothes. And she gets referred to as a boy a lot because she will still hardly tolerate any clips or elastics or head bands in her hair. And if we ever have a boy, yep, he's wearing our pink diapers, too. :haha:

Mel -- Wow, H is a big boy! Good for him! Glad you're feeling okay. Is it just me, or is time standing still now? This pregnancy was going waaaayyyy too fast for me until a couple of weeks ago and now it's just like time isn't moving at all. Probably because I was feeling so awesome until I started getting huge and uncomfortable around 30 weeks. :haha: Be careful what you wish for, I suppose. :dohh:

Hi to everyone else! I'm sorry, my brain isn't working right now. Still too early for me and Maisie decided she needed to get up and make animal noises from about 5am on this morning. :haha: Also, she is OBSESSED with coloring. Anyone else? It's the first thing she runs (literally runs) to do every morning and I have to actually pry crayons out of her hands in bed at night so she won't mark up the sheets while she sleeps. :haha: I'm not even exaggerating a little bit.

Hann, yes Alan is settling in at work pretty well now which is good, a bit of a slow start but hes now up to 4 days a week which in less than 2 weeks will be full time. I think its also an ajustment for him being away from Harrison as he is used to being with him all the time, and i cant help wondering if thats been partly to blame for Harrisons erratic sleep pattens of late, obviously its a big change for him too. I havent got my wrap yet, will order this weekend i think!

Littlespy, H likes crayons too, hes more into Aquadoodle though dont know if you have those over there, basically a big sheet and pens filled with water that colour in "colour" Great idea and not messy as its just plain water, when the mat dries it is then reusable.
And re time standing still? I so agree! Im so over being pregnant now and the fact ive not been at work too makes it seem to go slower! Theres no way id have coped at work now though.
Just think though.. in 2 weeks it will be March then there really ISNT much time!

I actually packed my hospital bag and babies bag last night ,so at last feel im somewhere to being organised and obviously in the back of my mind im going to go into labour at 36 weeks because thats when my mum is on holiday. lol
H is currently having a mamoth sleep! Nearly 2 hours! Ooops must go and write Alans valentines card, he will be home soon!

I packed my bag & washed newborn clothes the other day after my normal BH contractions turned crampy on me for a few hours and I freaked out realizing I've done nothing. :haha: The crib isn't even set up because we're waffling on whether to set it up in our current house or just move it to our new house in the box after we close.. but our closing date got pushed back thanks to the bank that currently owns the place and now we have no idea when we'll be able to start moving!

Mel do you have your c section date yet? I think you could be right about H's sleep being impacted because he's seeing Daddy less, its amazing what they pick up.

Julie - well done for getting organised! I can't be bothered to look in the attic for Annabelles old clothes! Or pack my bag actually! I can see me scrambling around as I go into labour lol. Your carriers sound great by the way, and I love your latest bump pic on Facebook!

Feeling pretty rubbish tonight, tired and sick. I don't want o tell Greg though as he's worried enough as it is. I keep getting an aching pain just above my ankle on my left leg too so I'm getting paranoid that I'm about to pop a varicuous vein. I hope not.
I'm also getting no extra rest with MIL being here because of Annabelle being poorly so I'm still feeling run down and rubbish. I have got to stop feeling sorry for myself and moaning though!!
We are off for dinner tomorrow once Annabelle gets into bed. It will be nice to get out and spend some quality time with Greg.

Hope you are all enjoying your valentines evenings :)

Awww Hann, have every sympathy with you feeling rubbish, ive felt like that so much lately too! Glad you and Greg are getting to go out together tomorrow too.

I wont get my section date till I see the consultant on 15th March, hoping its gonna be 28th March!

Alan came home with some flowers for me bless him, i told him not too but he did anyway, i do find valentines a commerical waste of money lol x

That's nice of him! Greg bought me home a cupcake and Annabelle a mini one - very cute!

It's crazy to think you get your date then 2 weeks later have the baby!! Bearing in mind you got pregnant one cycle before me it's funny to think that in all likelihood you'll have your baby 7 weeks before I have mine! I'm working in the basis I'm having mine around the 16th not the 9th ;)

Han with you on the mil rant. Neels parents are back tomorrow and apparently they are collecting Ajay from nursery early and coming to ours for dinner. Not even a decision we make its just happening. I feel so worried about it and I said to Neel I feel apprehensive and he is now being a bit off with me. Great. I have really enjoyed it just being the three of us and I'm dreading them coming back and bursting our little bubble. Sorry for te moan.... x

Never be sorry to come on here and have a MIL rant as you know that I'll understand completely - that's what's so great about this thread!
So they just called you and said that they were doing that or did they ask Neel and he agreed to it? I know they missed Ajay but its been a while since he's seen them, what if he's apprehensive? I bet they didn't think about that!
My Mil has at least thought of Annabelle a bit this time (between trying to get hugs and kisses) she has left her alone too when she's been really upset, but then she's had to because Annabelle has been so distressed each time she's tried to go near her! She's literally screamed and gone all blotchy and upset. You can't really argue with that! It's only because Annabelles sick though so she just wants me. Even so I think it's a bit tough on a little one to not see a grandparent for 4/5 weeks then they just reappear - surely it's better that they come round once you have picked him up so he has the security of mummy when they reappear?!
Oh and good luck with the cooking - what are you going to do or is Neel cooking?

My mil keeps saying how I didn't let her visit in January! And how she's coming in April. She is coming for 2 nights in march but apparently that's not long enough (my fault again) and that of course she or they will be coming before the baby is born. I feel like shouting 'only of you're invited!!' at her! I might need the help so I'm not saying no to it but I'm not committing to anything now. She's so pushy about it though!
Last full day today of her so just got to get through that then she goes at lunch time tomorrow. Good thing is that she's cleaned the bathrooms so that's something that's actually helpful. See I recognise that it's good to have the help, I just wish she wasn't so annoying with it! I dread to think what today will bring us!
Last night she was complaining to Greg about how my FIL drinks too much in her opinion (he has a few pints every night) but he has a reasonable diet and walks every morning. In contrast she smokes (my utility room stank of smoke even though she did it outside!) and she eats total rubbish like pastries, bread, butter, cakes every day and does no exercise. I don't know how Greg listens to her moan and says nothing!
Anyway enough mil bashing :)
Hope you are okay today Caz, I'll be thinking of you xx

Hi all,

Sorry i haven't posted properly in a while, i've been doing various updates to my computer in the evenings to try to sort out my remote access for work on my Mac (I finally got it working on paul's laptop but he's travelling to russia next week and needs it). So i've not been able to post properly.

Georgie, how's things, how are you getting on as a mummy of two? Can't wait to hear all about it when (and if!) you have a moment!

Hann and Caz, ohhh sympathies on the annoying MILs! Caz how can your pils just invite themselves round for dinner? Do you think Ajay will be pleased to see them? Hann, your MIL is such hard work, she sounds like a teenager sometimes!

Mel, glad harrison had a massive sleep yesterday, that makes a nice change doesn't it! Exciting about c-section dates, i didn't realise they left it so late to give you a date.

Julie, we have the obsession with drawing as well ("dawww-ing"), he flocks to his little table first thng in the morning and scribbles away, we have scribbles all over the table and chairs and a bit on the wall too, oops! (despite providing a tonne of paper!). However I do encourage the drawing as it keeps him occupied for up to 10 minutes a few times a day which is fabulous. How are you feeling now? Sorry to hear there's been a delay on your house. Loved the pic of you on fb!

Hope i haven't forgotten anything important.

AFM paul and I drove to Oxfordshire yesterday to have a look at the showroom for our outdoor office. We really liked them so we're having one built in April, which is the earliest date they can do. It's so exciting! We need Paul to vacate his indoor office for the baby's room, so we really have no option but to build an office in the garden. Then on the way back we stopped at Bicester Village (the designer outlet place) and had lunch and did a spot of shopping, didn't buy much as i'm not that into designer stuff, but it was lovely to be out! Now trying to get on with some work today...

The office sounds good Simmy. Quite a few of the houses around here have offices in the garden - kind of delux sheds :) We looked around a house with one in fact - had a bathroom and everything!

I've had an exhausting day, soft play this morning then Annabelle only had a 40 minute sleep so I didn't get a rest as I had lunch in that time and booked a holiday (big yay!) and then she woke. MIL was asleep so I obviously looked after Annabelle. Then we went to the village to get a few things, played in the garden. Then I went in as I started to feel exhausted and tired and within 30 seconds Annabelle had followed me in (MIL also attempted to give her the lunch time bottle and Annabelle screamed). Then I sat down thinking I could relax or even get a sleep but even though I told her I was exhausted she disappeared off to MY kitchen and cleaned it for the next 1 hour 15 minutes. It really wasn't dirty, just needed a wipe down from that days use and the dishwasher emptied and filled, but she managed to waste all that time cleaning when I could have slept. So I looked after Annabelle again, cooked her dinner etc. And now I've left her to sit with Annabelle while she eats her dinner and MIL is still in and out the room instead of just being with her. I then had to act all thankful that she cleaned the kitchen when I was really annoyed because it didn't need it and I did need a break! Seriously what is it with people coming and still not helping when I need it!
And I've just realised that probably for the whole time I've been writing this she has left Annabelle to eat on her own, so that annoys me even more!! GRRRRRRR

Simmy, glad you had a nice day yesterday and the office sounds like a great idea!

Caz, thats outrageous about your MIL, who has the audacity to do that really?
I hope Neel too realises how nice its been since they have been away with just the 3 of you and makes a bit more of an effort to fend them off in future.

Hann, I really dont know how you stand it, and she hasnt even really let you have a rest and expects you to wait on her?
My mum can be annoying but the one bonus is she lets me have rest and takes H for me when she is here or we are there. Bet you are counting down the hours till she goes! Will you still have a spare room when new baby is here or will you be all full up and have no room for her? lol

AFM, Had a nice day actally, H had a good sleep slept till seven so thats two good nights in a row, just had two insisors pop through at once so maybe that was part of this sleep issue, hopefully which is now resolved for now. So a decent sleep last night, then we all went to soft play, Alan not been there before so it was really to get him out with H and show him places they can have fun, and we really did have a lovely time. Home this afternoon and H had another decent nap,now hes just got out the bath and will be in bed soon. Im ready to collapse again. Was just thinking wow ive only got 7 weeks to go now, just as well really im the size of a house, all my insides are squashed into my chest, my hips and knees hurt and the heartburn is just awful!
Never again am i going to be pregant! lol

Eugh I know Mel I'm knackered already and only halfway through :( I think you've done amazingly well, still managing to get to softplay too. That's nice that H has slept later two days in a row - lets hope it lasts! We're still having early waking and chatting issues, he starts chatting at 5-6ish for up to an hour and then starts getting stroppy, but sometimes he chats at 4am and goes back to sleep again! But once I'm awake of course I cannot get back to sleep, so annoying!

Hann, I'm speechless at some of the stuff your mil gets up too - cant she see you're exhausted and need a rest?!

Caz - how'd it go today with the PiLs?

Hi girls,

Thanks for your lovely comments. It's actually been ok. They collected Ajay from nursery and they said he was quite cautious (I told Neel he would be like that) and still refuses to go to fil. And they want to go to bed early so they aren't coming over. They want to see us tomorrow so I'm sure we will see them too. I think it was Neel assuming we would eat with them not then assuming but they are really tired. It's weird because Ajay has actually grown up a lot since they saw him last so it's strange.

Han sooooo with you! My mil also cleans our house and I find it a bit strange as it implies that its dirty. Well that's my view. Hugs to you when is she here till?

Simmy gla you got te pc sorted out. Are you going to be ok whilst Paul is away?

Mel - not long to go hang on on there!

X

I'm still here reading ladies, just had no time to write properly. Will try to ASAP, much love xxx

Hope you are ok Georgie! And that yor first days with Matilda home are going well.

Lovely evening in the end here - we watched a movie and had an old bottleof champagne that we had at home - for no reason :) what a nice way to spend a Friday!

Night ladies x

Just trying to catch up, not finding much time to get online at the mo!

We're doing well though, Matilda is perfect :) DS isn't sure and is definitely testing some boundaries in objection but its to be expected I guess. Just makes me worry how il cope when DH goes back to work :-/

Brief summary of her birth....
Waters went 6.30pm Mon 11th.
Nothing started over night, just a bit of a show in the waters.
Went in to be checked at 8am Tues 12th, all ok and she was still happy so I had until 6pm to get things going naturally or go back in to be induced....
Spent the day walking but nothing significant started, 8pm the hook me up to hormone drip to get contractions going and strong. Kissed goodbye to my water birth!
Got to 1am and I demanded an epidural, in place by 1.30am.
4am, doc is called in the room and I'm prepped for c-sec as her heart rate keeps dropping. She then examined me and I was 5cm so she laid me on my left side and said as long as her heart rate stabilised the next check would be in 4 hours, 4.30am by this point.
I laid there for 10mins before I suddenly felt immense pressure in my bowls, I started crying to DH because I decided now was the time to get embarrassed about needing a poo?!
MW didn't believe I was feeling such pressure until I said it felt like she was coming, she looked and it turned out she was in fact coming!
Never seen a MW move so fast to get things ready but two pushes later and my little lady was out :)
So 5cm to delivery in 20mins!

She is the spitting image of her big brother when he was newborn <3

Ah wow Georgie that's amazing! You did so well and how quick was that last stage?! And on fb you put that you got eight hours sleep - how did that happen?! Amazing!

Just mil update - its really not been as bad as I expected. Mil is all over Ajay as normal but he is less all over her and more mummy and daddy which helps. Neel suggested we invite hem over for brunch tomorrow and then said 'or maybe that's too much' as we had seen them Friday night then today for two hours and I just said maybe it was too much. So I hope he is understanding more and I hope that we can keep a more sensible balance.

Poor Ajay though he is finding it a bit weird as he won't really go to fil still and apparently cries for us this afternoon which is really sad.

Han how's it going with your mil?

Hope everyone is having a good weekend x

That's nice of him! Greg bought me home a cupcake and Annabelle a mini one - very cute!

It's crazy to think you get your date then 2 weeks later have the baby!! Bearing in mind you got pregnant one cycle before me it's funny to think that in all likelihood you'll have your baby 7 weeks before I have mine! I'm working in the basis I'm having mine around the 16th not the 9th ;)

How do you think I feel? Melissa and I ovulated on the same day and got bfps on the same day and now she's probably going to have a 3 week old (or maybe 4!) by the time I have a newborn. :haha:

Georgie amazing birth story - how on earth it happened so quickly that's incredible! I can't remember but did you have a c section last time or vb? And yes I'd also like to know how you managed 8 hours sleep :)

Yep Julie that is annoying - the joys of natural birth, you never know when it will happen! We could end up closer than you and Mel on that basis!

Georgie - wow what a story. I have heard so many stories of second timers going into labour and the dilation happening in less than an hour. It scares me a bit because I'm quite far from the hospital and reckon I'll probably leave it until the last minute to go lol. I could have a car birth!! It's funny that you felt so much pressure even with the epidural. Why was that? I hope you don't mind me asking but did you avoid an episiotomy or tears? I only ask as I know you had it last time similar to me and I just wonder if its possible to avoid the second time!

Coming back on in a second - Annabelle not happy!
