Hi all,
how's annabelle doing now Hann? When Leo was really ill a while back he had a high temperature for an entire week, on day 5 i eventually took him to the docs and the antibiotics were the only thing that got rid of it (turned out he had a chest infection). Hope that's not the case with annabelle as hers is prob just teething but if she still has a high temp then best get her to the docs. Hope you're not too exhausted
Caz, a work trip would be good! I miss doing stuff like that. Always good for the old career! Glad neel is feeling a bit better and hope you've managed to chill a bit today.
Maria enjoy your night out, sounds fun, what are you up to?
Mel, ooh singing group sounds fun, does H sing or do you end up doing most of the singing?
Thanks for the advice re the consultant. I am so glad i wrote up my birth story last time as otherwise i wouldn't have remembered anything!
We're still having early wake-ups here too, it's a killer! I didn't put Leo to bed til 8.30pm last night in the hope he'd sleep a bit longer, but no, still up at 5.30am (and of course knackered in the process!). At least paul's back now to help wiht the early mornings.
So the consultant appt went amazingly well! I was so impressed, he was lovely and hilarious, he started off by saying, "Well i just read your notes and your baby was about 4 months late", which immediately made us laugh and put us at ease. He was very quick and didn't really need me to go over leo's birth in much detail. He looked at me and asked how tall I was, I replied 5'0, so he wrote in the notes "short mother, big baby with gigantic head which never engaged, she blames head size on the father" (LOL). Bottom line is that I can have a caesarian if I want it, and his view is it would end up that way anyway. If I go into labour before 40 weeks (which is highly unlikely give how late leo was), I could opt for a VBAC but I can still choose to have a c-sec. And he also promised that they would definitely not induce, because nothing about the induction was a success last time. AND i saw signs all over the place at the hospital (Watford General) that they have recently refurbished the labour and post-natal wards and have loads of private rooms which you can pre-book if you're having an elective. So basically, I'm confident that I will have a MUCH better birth experience this time! I've been so impressed with the hospital and all its staff, soooo much better than Ealing hospital!
