Beach Bump Graduates!

Thanks Han and Maria - I know it's just my insecurities as always but never mind!

Hope the party is good today Maria for Holly and that you and Naomi have a lovely day together as well.

Han - how did you get it to turn? Wow at 32 weeks did that hurt? I can barely remember how big you are at 32 weeks!

So busy morning we went to a kitchen shop then the builder came over - THEY ARE STARTING ON TUESDAY!!!!!! Agggghhhhhhh! It's all happening so fast but exciting and we talked through the finer details of timings, money, contract etc etc so it's all good. I plan to keep taking lots of photos as it develops and put them on facebook so I'm sure the next 12 weeks will be really boring from me! x

Ahh that's so exciting Caz!!! I can't wait to see pics! Naomi and I ended up just chilling out for a bit then we all went to the park once Holly got in which was really lovely. I'm hoping Martyn doesn't get called out tonight as it would be nice to spend the evening together- fingers crossed!

Yay Caz that's fab news!!

35 weeks and its moving not 32, so even more weird!

Maria - so glad you had a nice day and hope Martyn gets to stay in with you. Lovely sunny afternoon here too.

Well I'm in my room watching in the night garden with Annabelle because Greg invited his friends and wives etc for lunch, they arrived at 1 and I think we both assumed they would be gone by 6 but they are still sat downstairs so having to do the bedtime routine upstairs which is exciting Annabelle more as its different so goodness know what will happen when I try and put her to bed in 20 mins. She's due a bath too but I'm too tired to do it alone today and my back is literally killing me today so I'm not even going to attempt it. I really just wish that they would leave which sounds horrible as they are my friends too but seriously it's been 5.5 hours and they were invited for lunch! Also I didn't eat much for lunch so I'm starving and I'd like to order a pizza which I know I won't do if they are all still here. Why do people over stay their welcome at a house with a heavily pregnant person and a toddler who is trying to go to sleep?! Sorry for the rant!

Oh no Hann! I hope they leave soon! Hopefully they will and Annabelle will sleep so you can get some rest and have a pizza.

Martyn is on FIFA so I'm about to request that he turns it off so we can watch a film together. I hope everyone else has a nice evening x

gosh that's a long visit Hann! Hope you got A to bed ok!

Hope you get to snuggle up for a film Maria x

Great news re builders Caz!!

Amazed at these weights, Cam's over 30lbs! And Cassie's about 18lbs! Can't believe she's 6 mo today, 2nd babies grow up a lot quicker!!

Fi, Harrison was nearly 28 pounds at last weigh in which was 6-8 weeks ago now! Sorry been MIA will catch up properly tomorrow. Hugs to all xx

Fi -- Maisie was nearly 18 pounds at 6 months! Then 21.5 at 12 months and then she just like... stopped gaining weight entirely.

I'm pretty grumpy right now. Seriously thought labor had started about 3.5 hours ago. Painful early labor type contractions every 3 minutes for 1.5 hours.

Guess what... nope. :dohh: :haha: On the plus side (or not), my body NEVER faked me out that well with Maisie, so maybe soon? Probably not.

Also, I'm irritated because my best friend (who lives 500 miles away) is visiting with very little warning tomorrow (I'm happy to see her -- the irritation comes next). I told her I thought for a minute there I was going to have a baby for her tonight and she told me to let the bun finish baking. WTF? I'm aware she's never been pregnant, but how is 39+2 (or 39+3 is likely when the baby would have been born had I actually been in labor) not finished baking?

Cause you have control over when you go into labour?!? Fair enough if you were wanting induction/c-section but really!

I'm hoping Cassie slows down her growing, she's getting close to outgrowing her rear facing car seat which I'm not happy about as we can't afford an extended rear facing one.

Sending easy labour vibes x

Hi all

Wow where has the last week gone? Cant believe its sunday already, I wasnt well last week and when i went to the docs on thursday she said i had a fever, was horrid i was so hot and cold and ended up sleeping in spare room one night, Alan dealt with the night feeds as i was so ill and knackered i just needed to sleep, thankfully it seems to have subsided.
Maria, hope Marting didnt get called out last night and you had a nice evening.

Hann, boo to the inconsiderate friends! Hope you got your pizza in the end!

Simmy, hope you are having a nice weekend!

Julie, hope you are ok, so close for you now! So excited for you!

Georgie, how you coping hun? Great sleep from M and J last night, well done them!

Well since ive been better ive been busy decluttering, the whole house needs going over and ive pulled out most of my maternity clothes and put them on ebay, currently have 22 items selling on there at the mo! Its like de cluttering my mind too, got so much to sort out. Mum had H overnight fir so that gave us some time to get some done, also finally managed to upload all my photos and get them ordered, that serves me right for not doing any for pretty much my whole pregnancy, ive got a lot of pics to sort when they come! Got a load of albums from Amazon, if anyone is looking they have a great selection and very reasonable.
Yesterday Alan went to football and before H got home me, Lucas and the dog went for a walk in the sunshine, it felt just like when i had Harrison when he was little.
Need to ask about disapline again? Is anyone else having the "meltdown" if you say "no", how do you handle it?
The naughty step, works in the fact that he stays there but it doesnt stop him repeating the mistake (normally throwing things on the floor or hitting the dog)
Also the meltdowns, H wants to do it all himself but if he cant he throws a thrombo and sometimes himself on the floor, Is it just the age?

This morning we have had a lovely walk in the county park Harrison walked the whole way and loved it, and im loving my baby sling!

Sounds like you are having a lovely time Mel apart from the sickness! Probably not a help but if I have to stop Annabelle doing something I distract her with something else, tends to work most of the time.

Having a bit of a nightmare, back has definitely gone and I'm in sciatic hell. Not ideal as have no help for at least 2 weeks as my parents are away on sat for a week and don't want to come this week as they are too busy. Just have to get on with it which is going to be tough as in a lot of pain. Sad times as I had been doing so well!

Oh no Hann! Can you see a Chiro for your back or won't it help? That's bad timing about your parents going away.
We also use the distraction method here too! I did the same with Holly as when she was this age nothing else really worked, much harder with a newborn around though.

Sounds like you're doing we'll Mel! Good on you for getting that all on eBay, it's such a pain putting all on isn't it? Worth it though!

Holly is away tonight so Naomi and I are going to see an old friend of mine tomorrow for coffee, she's pregnant with her first child so it will be cool to catch up!
I hope everyone's had a good weekend x

So sorry about the pain, Hann! I didn't have sciatica with Maisie but have on and off the last month or so this time. Not fun! It's gone again for me but I traded it for some really random weird groin cramps depending on where Violet's head is in my pelvis. I have to crab-walk through the house at times to get anywhere without excruciating pain. It's really funny to Scott, which of course makes me angry even though I'm sure I look absolutely ridiculous.

Mel -- I'm jealous of your walk! The weather here is so nice right now but this week it's supposed to be much warmer and I'm afraid by the time Vi decides to join us it'll be pushing 90F (32-33C) most days and it'll be too hot to really enjoy being outside. :dohh: Glad you're feeling better!

Fi - LOL, I think she was saying it because I was disappointed that the contractions has fizzled. I know she meant well, but the comment irritated me because it was though I was negligent or selfish for wanting Vi to come at any time now instead of "letting her finish." I thought the consensus is that babes are pretty much fully baked at the point I've made it to now. :haha:

Uneventful day here. Have an OB appointment tomorrow that includes and ultrasound to be sure they're "comfortable" with me going past my due date. I'll admit I may be pretty easy to persuade into induction if they find any little thing wrong. :dohh: But I don't expect that to happen so will likely be pregnant for another week at least when they'll do yet another ultrasound to check everything. I appreciate the caution but it seems a bit silly -- I'm not even past my due date yet!

Julie lol at the crab walk, I'm sure it's not funny you being in excruciating pain, but you do make it sound funny! Hope the OB appt goes well tomorrow, I guess it's good they are cautious in a way. Yup, pretty sure the baby is fully baked, but what does your friend know if she has never had children eh?

Hann ouch sorry about the back pain, I was wondering how your back was and how you'd managed to keep it away for so long. Sucks on the timing, I really wish I was nearby to help you out! How long did your guests end up staying for last night? Can't stand it when people overstay their welcome, esp when you have babies.

Maria enjoy you and Naomi time and meeting with your friend tomorrow x

Mel aah your walks with H and L sound lovely! Glad to hear you're feeling better and are able to get so many things sorted - I'm amazed how motivated you are, you are being inspirational again! :)

Re the discipline issue - distraction doesn't really work with Leo as he's so stubborn he can't forget about something very easily. Putting him in the corner works occasionally, but lately I've just taken to letting him tantrum it out and ignoring him. Sooner or later he realises no one is listening and just gets on with playing with something else. But yes that doesn't really work when you're trying to tell him off for hitting/throwing etc. I'm just not nice to him afterwards (eg after he's hit out) which I think hits home, as I'm usually all loving, if that makes sense.

Georgie, sounds like some good sleep from your two last night, you must have felt great!

Fi, that's amazing weight for your babies, they are doing so well!

Caz, how exciting about the building works! Wow so soon. Can't wait to follow the progress!

Hope I didn't miss anyone.

AFM sorry haven't posted this weekend, I was out at my friend's hen party last night (the £100 one!). It was quite good actually, a bit OTT as expected but I tried to enjoy it. Was tiring though as I've not been used to going out much.

Today I woke up with the sorest throat and headache, and Paul's feeling terrible too, so we've just taken it easy today. It's so great now it's a bit warmer, we just let Leo bumble around in the garden for a bit. (although pretty knackering as we have a big drop in our garden onto concrete so have to keep watching him like a hawk).

Oh ad I weighed Leo on our home scales and he came in around 26 lbs (naked), he seems about the same as Josh georgie (with their big heads too lol!).

Hi ladies! Forgive my lengthy absence, I was having a hard time after my miscarriage with going on this site. I can't wait to catch up now and see how everyone is doing with their new little ones!

This was a pretty crazy week for us. Our car died without us having any money to replace it and Katie gave me a black eye that turned into an infection. I ended up yesterday at the urgent care for antibiotics. They had to give me a pregnancy test first though, and it was positive!! We just started trying for another baby two months ago, this is the quickest I have ever gotten pregnant. We're over the moon!

This is our announcement picture we'll be putting up:

Congrats sb! That's amazing news!

Julie hope your apt goes well tomorrow. Hang on in there.

Han - if you need us we can always pop over on Wednesday whilst I'm off work. Honestly we can help if you need it?

Simmy - glad the hen do was good in te end. Hope you and pail feel better soon.

Mel - you're so good putting everything on eBay. You can really de-clutter and make some money at the same time!

Georgie - saw the great sleeping on Facebook.... Well done kiddos!

Maria - did you and Naomi have a good night?

Fi - I can't believe your little one is six months, wow time flies!

Hope I've not forgotten anyone....

Sorry for not posting we have had a manic weekend preparing for the builders who start tomorrow. Kitchen shopping, tile shopping, paperwork with te builder and normal food shopping etc so it's all go. X

Week SB that's so exciting! What a lovely surprise!

Will post properly later, was up all night with Naomi who is teething! Have had to cancel today as she's miserable, poor thing.

Hi all thanks for your lovely words in the back issues. Julie - sorry you know what it's like too, hope you get some good news at the doctors today.
I went to see the GP today and have a private physio session booked for 6.30 tonight and stronger painkillers although I'm not very happy taking strong ones in pregnancy so doing half a dose at the moment. Greg stayed at home today thankfully so I just hope they can temporarily do something and then I'll have some more sessions to keep it at bay until the birth when I hope it resolves itself!

SB - yay so happy for you and a very good date I might say too as its my birthday lol! Really hope it all works out this time - remember to take it easy when you can

Simmy - glad the hen was fun, I know how you feel on getting wiped out when you do stuff like that! I'm terrible now, a few hours in London knocks me down! I hope you feel better now too

Caz - so exciting about the house! Thank you for your kind offer, I would love to see you but I imagine you have a million things going on with the house! You are so kind though x

Maria - rubbish about the no sleep and teething! It's such hard work nights like that. Really hope you get a nap today and N cuts them soon.

My brain feels fried and I can't remember anymore sorry! Off to get something to eat now. Tried to sleep over lunch but the phone rang and woke me and not managed to go back to sleep which is annoying!

Hann, really hope the physio can help you! Sorry i didnt mention it before, baby brain!

Congrats SB! So happy for you!

I had a bit of a bolt out the blue last night, a fb message from my stepmother. I havent seen or spoken to her or my dad for 8 years nearly, (long story) but my dad treated me like crap and has never attempted to contact me, only drunkenly once when we were both at my brothers wedding. Her message was basically making it all out to be my fault again, but saying that i should just forget ( my dad refused to come to my 1st wedding i cant forget that) and move on. Im angry mainly because its her and not him who has contacted me, and im upset as its stirred up a lot of old emotion for me which i could do without right now. They know about the children etc as my brother keeps them up to date and they want me Alan and the boys to go over there at 12pm on sat. Like hell, they cant just walz back in like that, i have to think of my children now.
