Beach Bump Graduates!

Wow, Mel. Unbelievable.

Hann -- I hope your physio appointment really helps! Not fun to think about being in so much pain.

Maria -- Hope Naomi feels better soon! These 2nd year molars are giving Maisie a really, really hard time (for a couple months now!) and they're still hardly even bulging yet. I was really hoping they'd be through by the time Vi is born but no hope for that anymore.

Caz -- Exciting about the builders but so busy! I really need to grocery shop again before this baby comes because Scott just isn't capable, apparently. He couldn't even go get Maisie some milk last night. :haha:

Simmy -- Hope you're feeling better today! Good job, Leo! 26 pounds! I say as Maisie refuses to eat more than 4 Cheerios for breakfast while she has a pile of cereal and bananas in front of her... *sigh*

Appt in 30 minutes and I just found out I'm seeing my favorite OB today! I'm hoping for a sweep, then off to the zoo to walk this little girl out!

Hope you get the sweep Julie! If you do and it's successful you could be in labour tomorrow! How exciting!! Hope the zoo is fun too

Wow huge congrats SB, I'm thrilled for you! Xx

Hope the appt went ok Julie - a sweep plus a big walk around the zoo might just get things going! Oh and don't worry Leo quite often doesn't eat much either. He loves breakfast but lunch and dinner are always a bit hit and miss. I think boys are meant to be a bit heavier than girls too.

Hann hope the physio helped a little? Good that G was home for the day...

Mel, crikey thats a bit of a shocker! Can't believe they expect you to just show up on Saturday...

Maria, ohh sorry you had to cancel your plans! Poor N, those pesky molars :(

Caz hope 1st day of building went well.

It's all been a bit manic here today, we are having our garden office built - they've already put up the exterior in one day and weatherproofed it as we're forecast rain tomorrow - it looks fab! They should be finished by weds, so Thursday and Friday Paul will spend moving his stuff out there, so we can finally get Leo's new room ready (Paul's existing office). Fun times :)

As for me I'm still feeling very rough, my throat is in agony, have had to rest most of the day!

Oh no Simmy that's rubbish! I hope you feel better soon! Can you try honey and lemon drink? I have to say its not my thing but there's not a lot of options for pregnancy :(

Been to the physio, she's manipulated the area but to be honest it's not done a lot. I have an appointment on fri but its not looking like I'm going to be able to go to it as I was hoping a friend could watch Annabelle for 45 mins but she can't. My other local friend is sick at the moment so not sure she will do it either. Greg has made me feel awful for even asking him, he said work will think he is taking the p***. He said he can probably do one of the appointments (i have two booked in, both Fridays at 4.30). My parents are away and I really don't want mil here plus we would have to pay her train which would cost around £50 so it's not good. As it is Annabelle is not going to like being left somewhere else so I don't blame my friend if she said she can't because she didn't want to. I think I'll end up cancelling the appointments and just having to put up with the pain somehow. Feel like crying because I feel like I do this parenting thing alone so much and the time I actually need help I have no one to turn to :(

Oh Han, you never ask Greg for help - you always solidier on by yourself, I'm so sad that he is reluctant to help :( Hugs to you my dear.

Simmy - sorry you're not well still. Hope Paul is looking after you x

Maria - Hope N feels better soon.

Julie - I hope you got your sweep! Let us know how you got on!

So the builders start tomorrow. We have two skips outsaide the house and we have booked Thursday off work to start on the detailed kitchen planning so we have two x two hour appointments scheduled in! I am still managing to be quite calm but they don't start until tomorrow so we will see. x

oh hann i'm sorry you can't find anyone to watch her, that is so annoying especially as it sounds like you really need this physio (although i guess maybe it's not that useful after all, but still you should def try to go!). I think greg is gonna have to learn that sometimes family has to come first over work, i'm sure his work will understand as it's a friday afternoon quite late, he could always offer to come in earlier for a couple of days or something. Women have to make so many sacrifices at work, it bothers me that men think they can't!

The other option is to call in an emergency nanny from an agency but i appreciate that's a last resort and it prob wont be good for annabelle to be left with someone she doesn't know at all. On the other hand it's only for an hour... Maybe your other friend wont be ill by then so will be able to help? What about your sister? (although i guess she'd be at work?).

Caz, good luck with it all tomorrow, you sound very organised!

My little girl is booting the hell out of me this evening!

Hann -- Oh, I was so hoping your appointment would help a lot. :nope:

Simmy -- Sorry about your throat! I hope you don't have that stupid cold I had a month or so ago. I thought that thing was never going to go away.

I did get a sweep! I forgot about all the nasty stuff that comes out after those... Yuck. And found out I'm apparently already walking around 4cm dilated. Makes me afraid there will be no easing into active labor if I'm already that far along. And kind of nervous now about my mom being 2 hours away, too. Oh well!

Had an u/s to check placenta, fluid, and estimate weight and theyr'e expecting her to be smaller than Maisie (I was already). They estimated 7lbs 3oz. They estimated 8lbs 1oz for Maisie and a few days later she was born at 7lbs 11.6oz. Watch, Violet will be over 8lbs. :haha:

We had fun at the zoo. Walked around for a couple of hours. Now I'm about to spend some time on my birth ball. Seriously, baby, take a hint! :haha:

Julie I have no idea how you walked round a zoo for 2 hours at 4cm dilated?!! Lol! That's good news though! Your drs are so thorough there, they should really check all that stuff routinely here but they don't.

Julie I am so excited that you might be in active labour right NOW!!! Hope so anyway! It's amazing the care you get, I always see posts about too little and too much water and they don't check that here at all! Hope to hear exciting news soon anyway!

Simmy - hope you are feeling better

Caz - hope the workmen started on time, so exciting!

I'm still in pain today, funnily enough it didn't go away over night lol! I spoke to Greg about feeling alone in the childcare and he said he would come back to help but then my local friend had said that if she's better she'll take her. My other friend said she would do next weeks one too which is great. So bit of a relief!
Been to soft play this morning and thankfully Annabelle was a bit more independent so I didn't have to carry her too much. Back is bad now even so but I'm going to have a lie down and rest soon. A horrible child pushed Annabelle off the bouncy castle twice though which was upsetting, the mum was paying no attention! He did it to a few other children and my friend went and told the mum who thankfully removed him at that point. Although there were a lot of crying children at that point!!
No plans for this afternoon, been told to keep as mobile as possible so going to do my back stretches and if it stops raining I'll take Annabelle to the woods for a walk.
Hope everyone is okay!!
Oh and I feel massive right now! Simmy how are you feeling? I def don't remember being this big with Annabelle but my measurement are the same. I was told at the weekend that it looks like the babybis transverse as my bump is quite wide, and my friend today said I look like I'm carrying a bowling ball! Fab!!

LOL, Hann. I'm not. And that's not because I've already had the baby, it's because I'm still pregnant. :haha:

Can't believe the kid at softplay! I know it's no coincidence that the most inattentive mothers have the most misbehaved children, but still so annoying. :growlmad:

Simmy -- I'm glad the docs are so cautious here, but I think it probably leads to some pretty unnecessary interventions, too. Haha, and I'm sure I didn't so much walk around the zoo as waddle. :haha: The u/s tech was so funny yesterday. She kept going on and on about how far Vi's head is in my pelvis and at one point she said "Good grief, I'd think all you'd have to do at this point is sneeze and she'd be doing the backstroke out of there." Then told me I was so incredibly "pleasant" considering her being that far engaged and being almost overdue. So weird... do most pregnant women turn into monster bitches at the end or something? Sure, I'm uncomfortable, but it's really not THAT bad. I assured her I'll be much less pleasant when she sees me next week. :haha:

Hi girls quick post from me....

Julie - you are being so patient! I can't believe you walked around the zoo!

Han - some kids are naughty at soft play and I always try and stay with Ajay or at least have him in sight as I'd hate to think he might push someone over, even by mistake!

Got a horrible headache tonight, been getting them for a few weeks so off to bed. Off work tomorrow and need to run errands as I need passport photos for my Indian visa as I'm going to India for four days in may. So me and Ajay will potter around the shops doing that tomorrow am I think x

Wow. Definitely all kinds of show this afternoon and evening. And pretty sure there can't possibly be any plug left. I remember it being a lot, but.... Not THAT much. :haha: I was spotting and such from the sweep all day yesterday and it was mostly gone this morning. Then around 4 this afternoon, I started losing plug and having more show. Hard to know if it's just from the sweep or a sign something more is happening. I imagine just the sweep but hard not to be hopeful!

Not much going on in the contraction department, really. I hate that I've let myself get this impatient already. So hard not to!

Yes I can see its hard not to when you have a constant, ahem, trickle! So much labour teasing going on without the actual labour though, right??

Caz hope your headaches go away, doesn't sound pleasant :(

Hann I'm not feeling so uncomfortable this week - I've found the right combination of pillows around me to get a better night's sleep. I'm sure you don't look too big. -- the bowling ball analogy is good because it means your bump is very neat! Time for another bump pic methinks!

I had the worst night's sleep last night as my throat was in agony. It was so bad I started to worry so went to the doctors this morning. I saw a nurse and she told me it didn't look too bad (hrmpffff!) and sent me off with advice to take paracetamol and hot drinks :dohh: I dot really know what I expected tbh! Anyway still feeling rough but I guess the paracetamol is helping.

Also the worst thing happened this evening, when Leo got home from nursery we took him outside to see the new office in the garden (which is all done now). He got excited and basically fell out of it onto the patio, and has split his lip really badly. He cried loads and there was a lot of blood, his poor lip has swollen up to triple its size. My poor baby! I hated to see him so upset. It took a LOT of peppa pig to cheer him up.

Oh Simmy I feel for you with the lip - Annabelle did it twice in a week in slightly different places. It's shocking how much blood comes out! And both happened on my watch too!
Hope you wake up today with a less sore throat, so annoying to not be able to take things.

Caz - hope you have a lovely day today! How's the headache? Could it be because of needing a stronger eye prescription?

Julie - all sounding very promising! It looks like she could be born on her due date! How great would that be - only 4% of babies are born on their due dates so its pretty rare! I had a lot of show before I went into labour so I think it's a great sign.

Had Nct last night which was nice. Was so tired that I even managed to sleep all night (minus loo wake ups). No plans today really, maybe a walk to the village, that's about as far as I can go to without my sciatica killing me.
Woken up with a bum or a head in my rib, really hope it's bum as been doing so many things to keep it head down.

Simmy - will post a photo in a bit. I'm huge I warn you!

Eek Julie how exciting, I hope something happens for you soon.

I hope Leo's lip gets better soon Simmy! It's so scary when they hurt themselves! Naomi banged her head Sally badly the other day, it was awful :(

I hope you have a nice day today Caz and get your photos sorted, are you excited for your trip?

Not much to report here really. I've got some laundry to do and might start packing a few bits as we go away on Monday. Other than that I just have to wrap some presents for my brother as its his birthday tomorrow, we're going out for a meal tomorrow night so that should be nice. They couldn't get a table until 7 though so Martyn is going to stay home with Naomi as its too late for her and we can't leave her with anyone really. I will bring Martyn back a slice of cake though s hopefully he won't mind!

I forgot to say- did you manage to sort something out in the end for your physio appointments Hann? That's rubbish that you're in so much pain with your back now :(
Glad your NCT thing went well, are you enjoying the classes more this time?

Maria - sorry you didn't get anyone to watch N, its so hard when things like that happen :(

Yes NCT is good, haven't massively 'clicked' with one person but they all seem nice and I hope it leads to some friends.
I managed to get a local friend to watch annabelle this friday, just hoping Annabelle doesn't kick off when I leave her, but I suspect she will!!

Here is my bump from today - so 36 weeks tomorrow.

Hi girls,

Sunny poor little Leo! They do get excited and run too fast especially when they are tired. Hope he is ok today.

Han yay to sleeping well! Hope your back isn't too bad today.

Maria we are having a lazy day too :) love it!

Julie - yay hope things move soon!

We are at home today. Building work progressing well and Ajay is being lovely - sooooo love my days off! x

Thanks everyone, I'm super excited and choosing to remain super positive about this pregnancy. I have an appointment next Thursday for an early ultrasound, hopefully it'll show us some good news!

Julie - you're a trooper! I can't wait to hear about Vi's entrance!

Simmy - Katie did the same thing as Leo the other week, she fell and split her lip open. It was swollen for a few days and it bled like crazy for a while. It's so scary when they get a cut in the mouth and the blood mixes with all the saliva!

Hann - you look adorable, and really great for how far along you are! I would have guessed you were earlier in pregnancy had you not said.
