Beach Bump Graduates!

Boys are cheesier I think so it must be a little man :)

Wow that would be a shock if I have birth! Although my tummy is huge but that's too much food!

Tonight is ajays first night with a duvet. I'm so scared what if it goes over his head and he can't breathe? He had it for his nap today and was ok but I'm feeling irrational. Does anyone else's toddler have a duvet? X

H has a duvet, its usually off him by end of night lol.
Toddler duvets are breathable so dont worry hun x

Thanks Mel - Neel said the same thing but having an irrational panic about it! Feels so grown up to have a duvet! Next thing we'll be taking the sides off the cot...... NEVER!!!!! x

i cried when H started using a duvet a few weeks ago! Lol x

Glad I'm not the only one! I'm so worried if he will be ok but I know he will be and this is just the first of many episodes like this!

We still use sleeping bags but guess will start using a duvet in the next few months. She has a blanket at nap times so she gets the concept and she uses our duvet in our bed
How did it go?

Off to mw soon, expecting them to say I've grown considerably in the past 2 weeks!

Ajay slept fine thanks Han. I didn't! I was up twice to check he was ok and he was of course and then this morning he was lying on top of the duvet but didn't feel cold at all. So proud of my little man - small achievement but means a lot to me :)

Hope your MW appointment goes well today Han. x

Glad it went ok Caz!! Of course he would be fine but I think I would have checked on him too - just part of being a mummy! We are transferring Leo to a duvet soon as I think his grobag will soon be too hot (it's 2.5 tog). What tog of duvet do you all have? I think I read 4 is the correct one for this age/stage?

Hann hope the MW appt goes well. Do you still think baby is transverse?

Mel ouch I'm sorry about sciatica, how annoying to get it now especially after pregnancy! (well I'm sure it's just as annoying during pregnancy, but you know what i mean).

Julie I totally understand the sitting around waiting, it's so annoying! In the meantime you can always lament on here and bitch about what crap our mothers as mils feed our kids :haha:

Maria is today the day?? Have an amazing time hun, when are you back? Are you going to Paris or the US?

AFM just sat at the doctors waiting for my whooping cough jab. Hann have you had yours yet? I just dropped Leo at my mums and gonna head back home afterwards to get some work done. I'll probably ed up having a quick nap too - I feel exhausted today! I just am not sleeping too well these days. We had a DIY-filled day yesterday, well of course Paul did the actual DIY but I was busy cleaning cupboards and transferring things to new cupboards, and of course watching Leo. Probably explains the tiredness today!

Blimey Simmy - sounds like a busy day. Hope you can rest up today. How is work going? Is it ok and manageable?

The duvet that we got for Ajay is: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fireman-Sa...6022313&sr=8-8&keywords=fireman+sam+duvet+set The duvet is 3.5 tog and seems fine. He loves fireman sam, hence why we bought this one although at first he decided to was scared of it!

x

It's a cute duvet Caz!

Yes had my whooping cough jab at 32 weeks I think it was - my arm killed for 2 days! Hopefully you will have more luck! Hope you get a sleep as well!

Well midwife went well, blood pressure still nice and low, fetal heartbeat 160. She didn't measure the fundal height again (it was the old school midwife!). She said that it is now head down again but not engaged and she thinks it probably has been doing some random position changes. I stupidly asked how big she thought it would be and she said it definitely wasn't going to be a small baby, she said that by looking at me I am small but apparently my bump shows its going to be a bigger one, and by feel it apparently feels on the average to larger size. To say I am moderately wetting myself is an understatement as you know I had trouble pushing out Annabelle and she was teeny. I shouldn't have asked! Greg did remind me that even on my 40 week appointment with Annabelle they told me she was going to be 7.5-8 pounds so they can be wrong, but still a tad scared! I know there is nothing I can do about it though so I should just forget what she said - it's hard though!!

Oh, Hann! You know better! :dohh: :haha: Don't worry about it, honestly (easy for me to say with my humongous birthing hips, right?)! Even weight-estimate ultrasounds that this point are off by as much as a pound. The one I had last week said Vi was 7lbs 3oz +/- 17oz! That means absolutely NOTHING, then! "Oh.. about average... or maybe a pound more or a pound less." 6lbs 2oz - 8lbs 4oz. Yeah, that's probably like 80% of all full-term babies. Great guesswork. :dohh: I have another weight/fluid/placenta check u/s tomorrow at 8am (because, let's face it, I'm not going into labor before then :haha:). I'm afraid she's going to have gained a pound over the last week with all the absolute shit I've eaten waiting for her to decide to show up! :haha:

Caz -- LOL at Ajay being afraid of the duvet. :haha: Glad he did fine! I'm sure you'll get used to it.

Simmy -- Hope you get some rest! I was exhausted yesterday and took an hour nap with Maisie and felt so much better. I'm hardly sleeping at all at night anymore which is just a cruel joke considering I'm about to have a newborn and not sleep at all for like 3 months straight (if she's anything like Maisie. Oh please let her be easier than Maisie was! :haha:). :dohh:

So the good news here is that I made it past when the OB who delivered Maisie was on call for the next whole week (she's my least favorite of my 6). And, if I make it to 8am tomorrow morning (totally will), that's the last time my 2nd least favorite OB will be on call until next Monday. So... home free to have this baby at any time with one of my preferred OBs from 8am Tuesday through 8am next Monday. Surely! And if not, then I just have to make it through next Monday (2nd least favorite OB and Scott's birthday) and I'll be induced by one of my very favorites next Tuesday. Seeing the light, now, I think.

Thanks Julie, I know you are totally right, and I'd be saying the same to me if I could!! I think its just that irrational fear because of how the labour went last time and having trouble getting her out then having to be cut etc. I know its not going to be a small as Annabelle but I was hoping it wouldn't be much bigger than 7.5 pounds. 8 pounds sounds scary! I know there is nothing to be done though and I just have to forget about it. Its funny because even when Annabelle was born we asked the midwife how much she thought she weighed and she said she thought she was around 7.5 pounds so she was shocked when she was just under 6. I do feel bigger this time though! Guess I just have to sit tight and wait it out though.

I really hope the scan goes well - and good news about the OBs too even if it has meant that you've gone over. Its funny but people always say second babies come sooner yet the MW I saw today said that if I was 2 days overdue with Annabelle (from ovulation) then I should be around 2 days overdue with this one. But as you know my due date is not right as I know when I ovulated so if I'm 2 days overdue from the ovulation date then thats actually 9 days overdue from the current due date - so thats what I'm preparing myself for and thats what I'm telling everyone else to expect. The joys of waiting for a 'natural birth' versus a planned section!!

Oh and to continue the moan, my back is literally killing me now, I can't move or sit or lie without being in agony. I'm doing everything I've been told to do to ease it and nothing is working. Its a nightmare - and looking after Annabelle on my own is such hard work as she won't go down the stairs without being carried, most of the time she won't climb the stairs and wants to be carried, I'm having to sit on the floor all the time and I keep getting stuck there with intense spasms running down my leg and back and not being able to move. Oh and Greg didn't put the dishwasher on which has irritated the hell out of me too!
Sorry for the moony rant - especially when you have so much more rights to have a good moan than me Julie!! :)

I don't have more right and I'm moaning plenty.

I read somewhere yesterday (so, obviously a very reliable source, lol!) that average 1st babies come at 41+1 and average 2nd+ babies come at 40+3.

I was induced with Maisie at 40+5, and even though I've regretted that (not a huge regret, but a little), I'm starting to not regret it at all. :haha: If this baby is coming, on average, 5 days sooner, then I would have had to be induced with Maisie for sure anyway, just 5 days later.

I seriously don't think this baby is coming out prior to next Tuesday. But maybe that's my new strategy to cope - just to expect next Tuesday and be happy if it happens sooner.

Glad you're feeling more positive Julie - hopefully you will get the delivery and people supporting you that you want!

Han - never worry about moaning, and you're not moaning, I can't imagine how painful it is and it's tough as you don't have any help right now - you poor thing. Can Greg work from home or anything for his job?

Not much to report here - went to two warehouses for worktops today and then back to the kichen shop, then onto a builders merchants so loads going on and quite tired tonight. Neel is ALREADY talking about the next house he wants to do (next door) and currently I'm putting my foot down - I need a REST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't even see about the bombings until I got back from Nct! Really terrible! Bet they are worried about the London marathon now!

Caz - if you are looking at wooden work tops we got ours at work top express and they are good and cheap!

No plans for today, need to think of something fast!! Nct was good last night, I volunteered to host the first session next week at mine so that will be good! The chairs at Nct are awful though and I left it in more pain than when I went in!
Just text my friend about the wedding on sat to say we'll only be there for the ceremony and drinks rather than staying for the dinner. It's going to be a mission doing the few hours that we are!
Had 'the chat' with Greg last night about when is okay for the PIL to come and stay - agreed they could come on day 6/7 if they stay at BILs or they come around day 14/15 and stay a max of 2 nights. To be honest I'd rather they didn't stay but I know I'm being mean because they really want to see the baby and Annabelle. Plus we are going to my parents when the baby is 3 weeks old to stay 2 nights as my brother is coming back from Australia so I can hardly say to Greg that I can't cope with visitors staying over after 2 weeks. I know it will be very trying and stressful for me because I know how annoying I find mil now and that's without all the new mother hormones! I'll just have to hold it together for a couple of days!!

And I can barely move now. For some reason the pain has switched to my left side - or at least is worse on my left side and I can't walk. I have no idea how I'm going to look after Annabelle alone tomorrow. Absolute nightmare!

Oh Hann im so sorry, ive been getting pain in my left too and down my left leg, i cant walk properly either, ive got a chiro appointment and massage tomorrow, cant afford it but need to do something.

Caz, ooh the kitchen sounds exciting, i love a brand new kitchen! Awful about the bombings, my friend meant to be running in the marathon on sunday but she may pull out now as shes too scared, the human race is sick at times.

Julie, read your post on April thread, hope all ok hun, x

Sorry to anyone ive forgotten, im so tired, Lucas was up almost every 2 hours last night feeding, think hes having a growth spurt, is a proper little chunk now!
Harrison swimming today and we took him to feed the ducks bless him, he associates bread with ducks and the way he says bread is so funny! Hes throwing some great tantrums too, mainly when he wants to go in the garden and cant or has to come in from the garden and doesnt want to! Oh and the throwing, mainly of food is doing my head in!
Other than that ok here except my pain. Alan has had a cold and given it to H, really hope i avoid it! Still sorting photos....

To update, went for my appt this morning and was immediately sent for induction. Doc wouldnt tolerate anything not ideal since I'm over 40 weeks. Been on pitocin about 4 hours now. Luckily the doc opted not to break my water immediately since my fluid level was already low. Much better so far than with Maisie but getting pretty uncomfortable now.

Typing through contractions for you here. :p

Wow Julie thats so exciting!! I hope you get a better labour than last time. Thinking of you and can't wait to hear the news!! Good luck! xx
