Beach Bump Graduates!

Oh Sherri - poor you, I hope you feel better as the day goes on and that the pain eases up. Big hugs.

Freckles - am watching the X factor on catch up today - recorded it last night as I was in bed by 9 pm! Loving it so far!

GW - glad Hailey is doing well, and her sleeping sounds amazing! I hope we are like that at 10 weeks!

Topaz - I hope your little one is better soon and that the medication helps soon.

BV - how was your party?!

Jenni - I hope you got some more sleep and were able to rest up.

Mel - yay for Alan's new job, such great news that it's not shift working!

Hann - happy one month to Annabelle!

AFM - was exhausted yesterday and so Neel did the last feed at 11 pm and the 3 am, bless him. So I got some really good sleep. I just hope he does too and so am being super quiet downstairs so that he can sleep until about midday. Life is soooo much better for me when I have had sleep!!!! I feel set up now for the week. We have one more week with Neel at work and then he is off for a week so really excited about that.

Today we planned to go for a pub lunch just the three of us (although my MIL is desperate for us to leave him with her for a few hours but I fancy some family time the three of us) and then chilling out at home I hope.

Hi girls, sorry I am so rubbish at posting, I read but never seem to manage to reply.

Simmy I am so sorry for your cousin's loss it must be so hard to deal with. If you need to talk x
Mel comgrats on Alan's new job!
Sherri - hope your recovery is smoother this time x
Topaz - Cameron's thrush hasn't cleared up either and it's been 2 weeks since we started the gel, asking hv about it on Tuesday. My nipple and ductal thrush really have impoved and his hasn't worsened but think we might need something different - doesn't help that he loves the flavour and sucks it off!
Jealous of these sleeping babies. I wish I could get Cameron to go down in the moses basket. I think we might be trying him in the cotbed next (thankfully there's a double bed in his room so don't need to try and move the cot). He also seems to have developed colic as he's spending all evening screaming. Gave him some dentinox las night which calmed him down but he won't take it on its own so have to express and mix it in bottle.

Have you tried infacol or gripe water Fi? You can give them on thier own, save you expressing...

I'll give them a try, last night it was desperation that made us try the dentinox, my sil had passed on a sealed bottle of it, so it was quicker to use than sending dh to 24 hr tesco!

The party was awesome. It's too bad I couldn't enjoy the 60s cocktails. Jill also needed to eat from 6-9 without much of a break. Once she fell asleep at 9 I was able to hang out with people and it was so much better. We met a few other young couples with babies and toddlers and it was great swapping stories.

Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend :)

Sherri, what a terrible experiance cant believe what a mess they made of you, hopefully its all sorted now and you will start to feel better.

Does anyone know how to cure cradle cap? think Harrison is starting to develop a touch of it!

Ive been using the dentinox shampoo mel, seems to be helping x

mel with soph i cover it in olive oil a few hours before her bath then gently scrub at it with a sponge and shampoo. you have to keep on top of it or it takes over - Hary ended up bald! if it's really bad, stick a cotton hat on and leave ooil on overnight x

Elliot also has cradle cap - started using dentinox shampoo about 4 days which does seem to help but his hair is falling out a bit bless him. Might try putting oil on it a few hours before his bath.

Audrey had really bad cradle cap... Now she has eczema...not sure if they are the same thing...looks the same...anyway,we use extra virgin olive oil religiously!! Seems to do the trick... Try not to pick at it as it rips the hair out...soften with oil then gently brush the scalp. We have also taken all sulphate containing hair products away...seems to exacerbate it.

Really worried, annabelle was really quiet yesterday and feeding a bit less then today we have been out visiting friends and again she has fed a lot less, she did a huge vomit - probably about 4ounces worth, she has been really quiet and lots of runny poos. Just doesn't seem herself. I don't think she has a temperature but wondering if the hot muggy weather plus being handled by lots of people has caused it, or whether her stuffed nose has made her feel worse, or that she is properly ill and I should be getting help.
I'm bottle feeding her just 2.5 ounces with gaviscon to see if she takes it and if the gaviscon helps. I've had a cool flannel on her head, just in her nappy and with the fan on her to cool her down. She seems to be taking the bottle which I guess is a good sign.
Should I do anything else? Would you be concerned or am I being a worrier?
Sorry for the one sided post!

Hann i cant really help but i would say that if she were ill then would be crying a lot. The heat probably doesnt help we have trouble kerping the house cool at the mo. Do u have a themometer to take temperature? Its s good sign that she is still feeding and pooing so try not to worry. Maybe make a docd appointment tomorrow to put ur mind at rest?

Thanks Mel - the thermometre showed no sign of temperature but her ears are so small it's hard to know if it's going in enough to give an accurate temperature. She had the 2.5 ounces, didn't vomit and is now feeding from me. I don't think I'll swaddle her tonight, might just put a muslin over her to make sure she doesn't get too hot. I don't care if that means I get less sleep (the swaddle makes her sleep longer). Hopefully she will be okay, so worrying when you don't really know and are just going on a hunch or small signs!

Hann, I agree with Mel it sounds like just an off couple of days but to put your mind at rest if she is still like this tomorrow maybe go to the docs. She has been feeding a lot lately right? Maybe she's out of her growth spurt. And the hot weather today has sent Leo really odd too.

Sherri (omg my iPad autocorrects your name to Sherrington... Please don't be offend if I accidentally call you that!). Can't believe how they screwed up your section. especially after all the other stuff you've been through. Hope that's the last of it for you.

Mel, I was going to say the same re cradle cap, it seems dentinox shampoo and olive oil are the way forward!

BV I'm glad you enjoyed the madmen party and were able to at least get some social time!

Thanks for all your kind words re my cousin's baby, it really means a lot to me.

we've had ANOTHER BBQ today, for pauls brother, his wife and two girls who were visiting from Yorkshire today, was really fun and leo's cousins absolutely adore him!

Thanks Simmy - I hope it's just the weather. She has eaten again now so she seems to have some appetite still. Hopefully I'm just being an over cautious mummy!!

Hann if she's not feeling hot or showing a temp, keep her in her normal clothes - if you try and cool her unnecessarily she'll get cold. If you are worried then speak to out of hours gp. Its really normal to worry - we were up at a&e loads with H! but until you've been through it all and know in yourself whats ok and what isnt (for example I picked up Soph's eczema straight away - when Harry had it we thought it was meningitis!) it's always best to get checked out - even if it is just to put your mind at rest. :hugs:

I worry all the time about N! The vomiting is more than likely linked to the reflux when N vomits it is literally her whole 5oz bottle, the first time it happened it scared me so much I thought something was seriously wrong with her! :hugs:
