Beach Bump Graduates!

Hi everyone, thanks for your kind words about my sad news.

I've spoilered the info in case you'd rather not read it - dont worry if you don't, i completely understand.
The baby was only 5 weeks old and it died from SIDS. She found him with a nosebleed and rushed him to the local hospital, by then I think he had already passed away. It's all the more sad because they are the nicest parents in the world. I'd met up with her for coffee when we were on mat leave and we were looking forward to our babies playing together... So I really am feeling her pain, it just shouldn't happen to anyone. And it has made me super paranoid about Leo.

Anyway, Mel thanks for cheering me up with your story! I laughed so hard. How typical that Harrison waited til you were out and had white trousers on, lol! I hear Napisan is good at getting stains out.

BV - what a gorgeous pic of Jill! Wow she is adorable. Well done on getting the Moby to work! I have a cheap version (the Victoria slinglady) and I still haven't quite mastered it...

Ha ha, I am also completely unattractive these days, I smell of milk/sick and generally have some form of baby wee on me, plus I wear the same baggy black tracksuit bottoms every day. Niiice! Oh and my belly still looks like a scrotum!

Longest night feed ever - Ajay has wind, then does a huge poo and now has woken himself up with hiccups. Am soooooo tired!

Oh Caz poor you! Feeling for you right now!

Simmy - I've read it and will pm you - won't say more than that in case people don't want to read :hugs:

Had a good night with annabelle again. She managed 8.30 - 2.30 then 3.30-5.30. Now she has fed again and Greg up settling her. I'm in the spare room getting some sleep. Or about to anyway!
Hope all babies are still fast sleep your end!

Hann - good on Annabelle!!

Can someone please tell me how to get Ajay to sleep for longer?! I know 3-4 hours between feeds isn't too bad but the broken sleep is so tough. I know you guys are all in the same boat but it's relentless! But he is just too cute even when he is keeping me up!

He looks like he might be sleeping so going to try and settle him upstairs again. x

I was sO silly, was faffing last night watching the inbetweeners and didn't get to bed til 2.30am! Am suffering this morning...

Caz, I just get Paul to do the middle of the night feed every other night. Which means I get around a 6 hour unbroken chunk every other day - which just about keeps me sane! :flower:

That sounds good Simmy. Neel does the last feed so I try to slee from 9-1 so it's not too bad but it's catching up on me now. Trying to sleep now but just can't nod off. Will let neel lie in today and maybe he will do the middle of the night feed too tonight. I'm so lucky as he does so much and doesn't sleep much too - sounds like Paul is the same

Caz I get 4 hours a night unbroken if I'm lucky - that's the best I've had. As I BF I am awake everytime she is which after the 4 hour sleep is normally another 2 wake ups! Greg just took her for 2.5 hours so I could sleep this morning as she was crying from wind but I would normally do all that. I am just resigned to the fact that the most I will get for a long time is 4 hours in a row and 6 hours per night - and that's a good day!

Caz, I found that swaddling helps. It signals to Jill it's bed time and she is comfy, so she doesn't startle and wake herself up too early. I also use a sleep sheep that makes a water sound. I also noticed that a long nap in the afternoon means she doesn't sleep as long at night. The best Jill does is a 4-6hr stretch at the beginning of the night and then every 2-3hrs after that. It's no 8hrs, but I'll take it! :) Hope you get more sleep soon!

Simmy, thanks for answering my sensitive question. My thoughts go out to your family. No one should go through that. Also, hope you make time for a nap today.

Hann, well done on the good night's sleep!

Just finished feeding and my boobs are still engorged...not a good feeling...gotta go pump. Not what I want to do at 5am.

Yup i guess it's easier at the weekend to make the hubbies do a night feed. And it sounds like Neel helps out a lot too which is great.

Also because i'm BF and FF right now, if paul does the night feed with formula i do wake up with sore boobies! So it's not ideal. But i'd take the sleep first!

Don't think i'll manage a nap today... We are having a BBQ this afternoon for our NCT folks. Should be fun, and paul has been a star in getting things prepped. My mum also made us her lovely chicken marinade. All I have to do is get myself ready, get Leo ready, wash my hair (!), and sort out the napkins. LOL. I am so crap at domestic stuff and Paul knows it, so he sets my targets very low! :haha:

Thanks guys - I'm just a bit disheartened as I'm tired today but will feel better once I shower and get going I'm sure. I'm not alone, I know and I appreciate your support!

Right, going to get going now - it's the weekend so want to be on good form and make the most of the family time!

Simmy - enjoy your BBQ.

BV - hope you get back to sleep quickly and get a few more hours shut eye!

Hann - any nice plans with Greg today?

x

Morining ladies.

Caz, sorry the lack of sleep thing is getting you down, its hard isnt it? We had a really rough night 2 nights ago and yesterday i was a bit of a grumpy zombie but last night faired a lot better luckily.

Simmy, i read the spoiler, wont say anything more, other than big hugs to you. I hope you enjoy your barbeque today, weather looking good for it!

Hann hope you got some sleep and have a good day today.

BV, Engorged boobies doesnt sound like fun!

Well as i said we had a pretty good night last night. Bathed Harrison and fed him by just after 7, he was asleep by 815, then he slept till midnight, was fed, and back down by just after half past, then slept again till 4, went back down till about half 6 when he came and slept for an hour on daddy.
We have been trying to establish the bath, milk then bed by around 7, he gets a bit grizzly in the evening but is definatly getting the hang of "night time is for sleeping" thing. Just waiting for the magic night where he sleeps for longer streches now! We went to bed at 930pm last night so got a fair bit of sleep and sm feeling a lot better today, not too much planned execpt cleaning, which we have done quite a bit of already this morning, nice walk with the dog and a big pile of ironing!
Oh and Alan has just found out he got a new job (still within the police ) but the hours are family friendly, 4 days on 4 days off, and no nights so we are very pleased!!

Excellent news - congratulations to Alan! Glad you had a good night too!

Simmy - enjoy the nct meet up. Funnily enough we have our nct boys, girls and babies meet up today - we are going to the pub though :) really looking forward to it and seeing all the babies together.

Caz - enjoy the weekend, a shower will make you feel a lot better! Even when I only have two hours sleep a shower makes me feel so much better!

Bv - agreed that swaddling is the best for keeping them asleep! Have a nice day!

I am so impressed by all of your night time routines! We didn't even get home till midnight last night...Ramadan screws us up a bit. I got max down at 1:30 and he slept until 4:30. That's it...no more sleeping! He ate and slept really regularly yesterday which is why I suppose he's making up for it by being wacky today!!

I just finished pumping and 50min later I'm feeding again. I had just fallen asleep. Sigh...oh, well. At least I got 5hrs in the beginning of the night. I managed to pump 6oz in 10min after she fed. Somehow she's getting more milk out of them. I'm too lazy to go warm up a bottle.

Caz, hope the shower helps! Enjoy your weekend :)

Hann, have fun at the pub! Sounds like fun :) Happy 1 month to Annabelle!

Simmy, enjoy the bbq! That marinade sounds yummy.

Mel, congrats on Alan's new job! 4 days off sounds fantastic :)

We're going to a Madmen themed party tonight. Can't wait! Too bad I can't partake in the 60s cocktails...maybe they'll make some without booze.

well i was just thinking to myself, the beach bump girls have been quiet, then when i looked, my subscription had been deleted. stupid phone!

hope your all well.

how is everyones lo that had thrush doing. josh has had 9 days of treatment now and its still no better.

Simmy, so sorry to hear your news. You and your family are in my thoughts :hugs:

Mel, love Harrisons poop story - priceless!!

BV, gorgeous photo of Jillian - too cute! As far as napping when they are napping, it is easier said than done isn't it! Both of mine nap in the afternoon - Cameron doesn't always sleep, but he has some quiet time, and I should sit down and relax, but that's the only time to get anything done!

AFM - Hailey is all smiles these days, it is great! I absolutely love when she wakes up in the morning, and all I get are smiles! She is also starting to "talk" a lot, and she is starting to move around - pushing her feet against things to move backwards...

She continues to sleep through the night - 10pm -7:45 today...we don't really do anything special to create a night time routine. Hailey is awake more during the day so I think that makes a big difference. She normally naps morning and afternoon (2 hours or so each) and is awake most of the evening usually from 6 -10 or so...

One thing I realized is that I was feeding her in the night when she was fussing, but she wasn't really looking to be fed. So, I started waiting until she was crying for food before I got her up and fed her...what I realized is that she makes lots of noise and fusses to get comfy through the night, no crying, but moaning/groaning etc. So, she wasn't looking to be fed, but I had created a habit of feeding her when she really wasn't looking for it. It took a couple of nights of being more aware of what she was actually doing and what she actually wanted and now she is sleeping through the night!!
Have to remember too that Hailey is the "oldest" (10 weeks - can't believe it) amongst all our little ones :)

Hope you all have a great weekend :)

Wow gw can't believe Hailey is 10 weeks already! I guess Elliot isn't far behind at 8.5 weeks but 10 just sounds a lot older lol! Glad she is giving you smiles in the morning - how lovely

BV enjoy the madmen party!

Mel that's fab news about Alans job - congrats! How lovely that he'll be seeing lots of Harrison on his days off.

Hann sounds like you had a good nights sleep! Have fun at the pub!

I still haven't tried Elliot on his gaviscon - yesterday he was hardly sick at all so I didn't give it. Does the gaviscon help 'get rid' of reflux or just control it?

Did anyone watch x factor? I love it! It's officially the countdown to Christmas now that's started! :happydance:

I've read but am a bit knackered right now, so I can't remember everything.

Simmy, there are no words... :(

A shit... for me. Had my surgery Thursday evening. Chose the epidural and Propofol sedation. Everything went great. They wrapped my head in a towel for the bits that the didn't want me to hear about. In for about half an hour.

From what it appears, the surgeon who did the c-section either left a large portion of the amniotic sac inside, or it slipped out of her hands and she didn't notice before closing me up.

So there was infected amniotic sac left inside.

There was scar tissue on the cervix from where the cerclage was placed, and it was infected, so she removed that. And there was some sort of tissue that was red and puffy on the cervix. She removed it and sent it to pathology as she has no idea what it is.

Still having cramps and bleeding.

In extreme pain in my back from the Epidural. I don't know what happened. I can barely bend over or pick Colby up. I have to take tons of pain meds. I just hope this back pain ends soon. Maybe I should have chosen the general.
