Beach Bump Graduates!

Thanks linds, I'm now feeding her again, as soon as I put her down she was clearly still hungry. I will see how warm she is after feeding but might well swaddle her then as we have the fan right on her too.
Such a learning curve isn't it!! I am feeling a bit better now that she has regained some appetite but will see how she is over night and might take her to the dr's if she still seems a bit off

Clare - she had been vomiting before but prob only an ounce and a half but this was the full feed, it also looks like more as it's so watery and gets everywhere. It could be just the reflux though - at least she has some gaviscon in her now!

Sounds like when N projectile vomits comes out with such force and shoots everywhere!

soph possets after every feed but every now and then i get a whole feed up! thanks sophie!

hi all

sorry for being awol but finding time has become a bit of a premium at the mo.

quick recall of what I have read sorry if I miss anyone out.

Mummyss - so sorry to hear of your cousins baby. My heart goes out to them.

Mel - good news re Alan's job and wonderful story re Harrisons poo explosion in the restaurant.

BV - love the pics of jill in her costume. Your photo session sounds like it went well.

Sherri - how awful that you had to go through that. Big hugs and hopefully you are on the road to recovery soon.

Caz - Ajay sounds like he is doing well. know what you mean re sleep. We seem to be moving to feeds at 10pm, 2am and 5/6am which is doable.

Gw - wow hard to believe that Hailey is 10 weeks old already. Time seems to have flown.

Jenni -Ramadan must be really difficult to cope with. I also feel sorry for you having to be so conscious where you can breastfeed, I just whip my boobs out to feed Logan and take it for granted when out and about.

Claire - glad niamh's reflux has settled.

Topaz - sorry to hear the thrush hasn't cleared up yet.

freckles - don't watch x factor but have to say the thought of seeing Gary B every week sounds quite good!

Fifi - have to say I have been using infacol before every feed and it appears to be helping Logan but needs a few days to build up in their system. I also find laying him on his side to sleep after he has fed for half an hour (nice cuddley time) seems to help Logan process his wind for both ends!

Hann - sounds like it could be either after a growth spurt or a wee cold starting.

afm - Logans wind appears to be under control now. Have been double feeding from each boob, giving him infacol and then laying him on his side to sleep for half an hour after each feed so not sure which of these is helping best or iof its just a combination but good so far.

Sleep is going okay and I generally get between 6-7 hours per night in 2-3 chunks which is doable.

Logan is growing so fast and no longer seems like a baby. I took him into work on Thursday and he slept through the whole thing even though he was passed from piller to post (I work in Social Work in Children and Families so they all love kids!!).

Josh is back to school on Tuesday so have been organising all his stuff. Eight weeks has absolutely flown past and I am quite sad he is going back already although he can't wait lol.

Hope everyone else is okay.

Morning everyone.

Han - so sorry you are gaving a worrying tine with Annabelle. I hope it's better tonight and that she feeds better. Big hugs.

Simmy - loving your BBQs!!!! My hubbie would be proud he loves them!

AFM - we spent the day just the three of us yesterday which was lovely. Went to Mamas and Papas and for lunch. Neel is off work from Friday so I can't wait to have him home for a week! Ajay just fed so hoping he will sleep for a few hours now!!!

Curlew - just seen your post too! Glad Logan's wind is better and your sleep sounds ok. Hope your night tonight is alright x

Evening / Morning ladies :)

Hann, hope Annabelle is feeling and eating better. It's not nice when they are not well, especially when they can't tell us what is wrong :(

Sherri, unbelievable situation - you could write a book! Did you have a 6 week post natal check up? Just asking, as I was wondering if your GP missed it all? Can't believe what you have been through and it never seems to end for you. Hope things get better soon :)

RE: Craddle cap - Hailey has it, a bit, and I am doing the olive oil. I might try the olive oil and the hat at night, good idea Linds thanks.

RE: thrush and reflux...knock on wood Hailey hasn't suffered from either...I wish you all quick remedies for the thrush and solutions for the reflux.

AFM - we had a lovely afternoon/evening at my parents - so nice not having to cook or clear up :)

OMG, where is the time going?? I can't believe most of our babies are entering the 2 month mark... I remember sitting at the MIL's on bedrest for 5 weeks there, and it felt like an entire lifetime! Now... he isn't such a little baby anymore. I wish I hadn't wanted to rush the whole pregnancy experience, you know...

Cradle cap... Don't really have to deal with it, so I have no tips. Sorry. My SILs baby had it so terribly; it literally covered half her face as well, and was thick and yellow. I think she tried everything, and it was just time that cleared it up.

Thanks for the well wishes. The back is starting to feel a little bit better, but if I do too much than it hurts like hell again. Feels like it is being compressed, but it isn't leaking fluid, so I guess that's a good sign. GW, I did have my 6 week post partem check up, but it was later than 6 weeks. After we got out of NICU and I realized our family Dr was more interested in how cute and little and fair Colby was, and didn't really give a shit about me, I decided to call and book an appt with the OBGYN, because she had said I could. Her secretary didn't know this, told me the pregnant was over, therefore, I didn't need to be a patient there anymore. So I couldn't get an appt. When my OBGYN came back from holiday and found out the secretary had said this, she told her that she was to book me appts when I called. By then I'd lost 2 weeks time and I had to wait to get in. I got in and told her I was doing bad. She wanted to do surgery, but because of my heart she decided to try a course of antibiotics first. That didn't work, so I called her back. So that's why everything took so long. Yes, the GP wasn't concerned, but it was also because the receptionist wouldn't book me that appt.

Hann, I don't think you have anything to worry about. If the thermometer is showing no temp, then she should be fine. Babies seem to be little radiators anyways. I'm one of those permanently cold people, so everyone feels hot to me. Maybe its the same for you?? I'm constantly thinking he has a temp when he doesn't. If she gets really lethargic, you could go to the ER or A&E. That's what they're there for, and they always say better safe than sorry.

I don't want to jinx ourselves, but I am wondering if we are turning a corner with his sleeping... Just wondering, but won't say any more just yet. All I can say is he'd better not be doing good on the weekends just to save it all up for me during the week! He did one 6 hour stretch between feeds, and I slept for the whole thing!!

Hi all.

Sherri - agreed that you should write a book!! hope you are okay :hugs:

curlew - can't believe kids are going back to school soon! i think its next week here.

Caz- so jealous you have Neel with you next week. At least we have the long weekend soon.

Last night was okay, she slept from 10.30-4 then ate and threw up everywhere - all over me, my bed, etc. Managed to avoid herself though! :)
I then put her down and she slept for an hour, waking at 6. I then fed her again and she slept until 8.30 when she threw up again about 4 times (smaller amounts), then wee'd on herself too. So gave her a bath, fed her some more gaviscon and now she is in her bed having a snooze.
So I think Clare you are right its the reflux getting worse.
New plan is to give her a ounce of milk plus the gaviscon at the start of each feed then BF her. Hopefully that will stop the sick.
The upside is the she appears more hungry today and she doesn't look upset.

I hope everyone elses LO's are okay. Thank you all for your help and comments last night and this morning. Its quite scary to see her being ill but I guess this is the start of lots of ill times in her life. So hard when they are so small and delicate though!

I have my NCT meet up this afternoon at 1.30pm so will be nice to be out and see people anyway.

Hi everyone.

Well we had a promising start to last night, Harrison slept from 730 till 120am, he was then fed but all went wrong after that, he woke up again 2 hours later and pretty much kept us up from then on, think its all down to the fact he slept hardly at all yesterday! He then threw up all over me this morning and has been really gripy too, trying to get him down for a nap now, not easy!!

On the plus side, yesterday evening, he had a lovely big boys bath with daddy for the first time and he loved it! was kicking away and waving his arms and didnt cry at all, it was so lovely!

Hann, glad Annabelle seems better today, these LOs love to worry us dont they!

Sherri, hope you have turned a corner with Colbys sleeping! fingers crossed!

GW, Glad you had a nice time at your parents!

Curlew, glad Logans wind is getting better, a shame Josh goes back to school next week, he must be an angel most parents cant wait! lol

Caz, glad you had a nice day yesterday, yay for Neel being off work, Alan goes back to work on 1st Sept, we are both dreading it, have been spoilt a bit for time together!

Gosh Hann , sounds like you've had a very busy time since 4am! If you think the vomiting is getting worse it might be worth a trip to the GP just to check her. Hope you get some rest today and enjoy your NCT meetup later.

Thanks - she has been asleep for ages now, stirs then goes back to sleep. I am leaving her a bit and will see how she is. It could be a growth spurt I guess with all the sleeping but will keep an eye on her.

Mel - poor you, hope you get some sleep later!

I've just done my first ever online ocado shop! Feel quite proud of myself ha ha!!

Hi :)

Sorry I'm MIA all the time lately- I do read but often don't reply as I have to feed with both hands now as doing underarm hold- long story! and tend to write in my journal as only get a minute or so to write!

Hann- I hope Annabelle's OK today? If you're ever worried you can always call NHS direct- they're pretty helpful :)

Simmy- I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin's tragic loss :( I hope you're OK :hugs: I really don't know what else to say- like Sherri said- there are no words :(

I'm loving all the cradle cap tips- N has it mildly atm- I'm trying to keep on top of it.

I have had no sleep so don't remember much- I hope everyone's well and I'm still lurking about! Will try to be not so rubbish at posting!
xx

caz - sounds like u had a nice day yesterday. have you any plans for when Alan is off on holiday?

gw - glad you had a nice day too. Food always tastes better when cooked by someone else and not having to clear up is a bonus.

sherri - glad your back is feeling a bit better. Hope the rest of you gets better soon.

hann you plan for the gaviscon sounds good that way she gets the gaviscon and the breast. Hope you enjoyed your NCT meet up

Mel - hope you have a better night with Harrison tonight. Sounds lovely daddy and Harrison having a big boys bath lol. Josh and Logan love their bath together.

doodles - good to hear from you. Hope you get some sleep soon.

AFM - Logan slept so well last night 930-230 and then 3:30 - 6:30. I felt great this morning. Took the boys to the park with some friends today so hopefully they will both sleep well again tonight.

DH is going to give the boys their bath tonight whilst I get the last bits together for Josh going back to school tomorrow. DH needs to have some exoperience of bathing them so if I am out he is okay with it. he has done nappies, feeding, winding and dressing so bathing is the last bit of his training lol.

We DID NOT turn a corner for sleeping. He is screaming again. I'll write more later.

evening all, glad to see everyone muddling through. Simmy I'm not reading any of your posts re your cousin - my mental health is great at the mo but something like that could tip me over so I have my hands over my ears and my eyes shut. :ignore: sending you love tho.

Have just forked out another £45 on 2 small tubs of eczema cream and a tiny bottle of bath oil. Also downloaded a GP info pack. Hopefully we'll be able to get it on prescription as its great. It cleared her cradle cap in one go!

Weighed fatso today. She's now 11lbs 8oz! 2lbs in 2 weeks. She's now 6 weeks ahead of Harry when she was only 30gs heavier at a week's further gestation. Little piggy! she's still feeding well and am expressing 4-10 oz a day for the freezer. If I dont use it,it's no loss. She still isnt interested in a bottle however. Might have a try giving her one when she wakes as she's always hungry then

Wow linds she is doing so well and not surprising as you seem to have a fab milk supply!

Curlew - hope you get a nice night with your boys and get josh sorted for school. Daddy bath time sounds fun!

Had such a nice day, our nct meet up went really well and it was lovely to see everyone however the girl that I was worried about didn't come! She text me as was meant to walk over with me saying that her baby had just poo'd and some went on her so she was changing and would meet me there then she called the course leader and said that she wasn't coming because her baby was now crying. It's such a shame as I'm sure it would have helped her coming. I text her and asked if she wanted me and one of the other girls to come to see her tomorrow to tell her how the session went and to catch up and she said that it would probably be raining so it wouldn't be a good idea. I think the course leader is hoping she will go and see her but I don't think she will. We have a number for her for pnd councilling but I don't think she will call it. It hard seeing her struggle. I'm a bit frustrated too because she has her parents staying and you would have thought they would have encouraged her to come today and walk with her over to it if she was worried about getting there. Can't help but wonder why they aren't seeing how much she is struggling.
Anyway I'm seeing one of the girls tomorrow afternoon which is great! We may or may not see the other girl. I hope she decides that she will see us.

Hope you all had good days!

Aahh Hann that girl sounds like she's really going through something, like you say- it would be nice if her parents were encouraging her to get out too. Glad you had a nice time though :)

How are you now Sherri? Did Colby let you get any sleep?

Linds- What do you use to keep your milk in when you freeze it?- special freezer bags? I've never done it before sorry for the dense question!

Moira- I hope Josh has a good first day back at school :) and that you all got a good nights sleep!

How's Harrison today Mel?

Not much news here- we thought N had an ear infection (well, the doc did) but we think it was a false alarm as she seems fine now :) Otherwise all quiet here, hoping the weather gets a bit better as we're meant to be going to the zoo at some point (once MIL decides what day we're going!)
x

Morning all!

Doods have a fab time at the zoo if you manage to go! The weather is shite isnt it??

Hann, I feel really sad for your NCT friend that she isn't coming to the meet ups. It really sounds like she is making excuses about coming out. It is strange that her parents are there but haven't encouraged her to come out? FX she manages to accept some help on this.

Curlew - well done on getting a good night with Logan! hope that's a sign of things to come...

Mel - how was H last night? hope you had a better night!

Caz - how is your week going with Neel off? Are you getting more sleep?? Saw some piccies on FB - you look like an adorable little family!

Linds - well done on the expressing and weight gain - you're doing a fab job!

Well Leo was a little sod last night, we didn't get to bed til 1am (our own fault really) and Paul has started his new job this week so hasn't been able to help much. So Leo decides to stay awake and unsettled from 3am to 7am, at which point i took him, with moses basket, into the spare room where Paul is sleeping at the moment, and said "deal with this child", lol. So I managed to sleep from 7-9am until Paul started work.

On the bright side, I got the loveliest smiles from Leo at around 5am. No matter how much of a sod he was being, that just MELTED me! :cloud9:

Also had the health visitor just now, and Leo is now 10lb 5oz. So his weight gain is slowing down but he's still gaining which is good, especially because in the past week i've been trying to replace some FFs with BFs - we're now on about 50/50 of each - so i'm relieved he isn't starting to lose. This combi feeding thing has been a bit trial and error but I *think* I'm finally starting to find a balance that works for both me and Leo... FX it lasts!
