Cheers to BFPs in 2-0-1-7!

They give you a test date, and send you in for blood work :)

I won't be testing this cycle unless AF is late. No more cheapies for me. I don't actually get the green light for the FET until about a week after AF gets here, and then its suppressants for a month, then meds to plump up my lining. The NAC should help with that as well.

@polkadot
What did results of your blood test say? You should be getting those today, right? :)

Hi Fluffy! My results weren't back on Weds so I cancelled my appointment to discuss them and re-booked it for next Weds so I've not called back since because if they were bad I don't want to be upset for a week before I can see the doctor so I'm waiting to call back on Tues/Weds this week. I think that's best for me so I don't get too worked up!

The :witch: got me again yesterday so I'm feeling a bit down but I'm trying to look on the bright side because it was my first 28 day cycle in a long time and I did get my thyroid results back which showed my TSH as 2.1 which is normal as far as I can tell 😊

How are you ladies all getting on?

@steph
you and me both! only 2.5 weeks now for me :)

@abennion
taking the week off after sounds like a good idea - taking some time off in general sounds like a great idea to me right now, haha! I'll have to wait till August though, but I'm really looking forward to it :) Maybe it's not making a difference, but stress is at least not a positive contribution to TTC
I only want to test when AF is late personally. However, with irregular cycles, it can be really hard to say sometimes. Crossing my fingers for your snowbaby! :)

@polka
Good old NHS! I would have done the same I think - let's see what this Wednesday brings then. Sorry the witch got you, but a 28-day cycle is great! Textbook cycle length!

AFM: I'm on CD 45 and still no sign of ovulation. Have officially given up hope for this cycle (annovulatory again) and am now just waiting for AF to please show up soon so I can start a new, hopefully ovulatory cycle :( Have been distracting myself lots with work and planning and the house and garden are looking cleaner than ever now :) I also want to get back into reading more and generally focus on some non-ttc things to take my mind off it until the end of June (doctor's appointment)

Hey ladies, just checking in, hope you're all well!

Pixie, sorry AF got you but a 28 day cycle is awesome! Hope that trend continues :)

Fluffy, I hope O shows up soon :( So frustrating. I'm glad distracting yourself is helping though (at least sometimes!)

Abe - Amazing how many things are out there to try! Your temps are pretty high, did you end up getting sick? The week off after FET sounds like the perfect idea!

Well ladies I'm back to TTC. We got our BFP on June 1st and yesterday I would have been 6 weeks. But after a trip to the ER and a doctors visit yesterday, we were told we lost the baby. We're devastated :( I don't wish this on my worst enemy.

I'm so sorry zoe. I know how hard it is. :hugs: I wouldn't wish it on anyone. We're here if you want to vent, or even just talk.

So sorry Zoe. Like Abe said, we're all here for you if you need us.

My heart goes out to you zoe! :( I can't even imagine what you must feel like. As everyone has said, if you need to vent, to chat, anything, we're here! :hugs:

@Zoe, so sorry to hear that. I hope your stay back in TTC is a short one and you get your rainbow soon

As for me, I got my CD21 bloods back and they look pretty good!

Progesterone - 36.7 (apparently anything over 30 is definite ovulation so I'm really happy!)

Testosterone - 1.5

Estrogen - 535

Sex Hormone Binding Globulin - 81 (this one should be less than 75 but she said it wasn't too much of a concern as my testosterone is fine so probably doesn't mean PCOS)

The doctor seemed happy with these and from what I can see online they seem normal except for the last one so that has eased my mind a bit :)

Hope everyone is doing well?

Well, 14DPO for me, and temps are still up. I don't have the heart to get DH excited so close to Father's Day just in case, but he wants to go swimming tonight (and that usually means hot tub). He knows I don't like going even if there is a small chance... maybe just tell him AF hasn't shown her ugly head yet?

We went to the Keg last night to celebrate our anniversary. Totally went over my weight watchers points! So worth it though :)

Had to google the Keg - looks great! Happy belated anniversary.

Didn't even know hot tubs weren't advisable for pregnancy so thanks for the heads up!
Could you just say you really don't feel like going swimming? Or will he just read between the lines?

Clicked on to the first page of this thread by accident - so nice to see lots of flashing BFPs!

AFM, CD40. Still counting down the days until I next see the fertility specialist and can start a new cycle of whatever he suggests.

Yeah, hot tubs are super inadvisable! They can cook the fetus.

He wants to go every Thursday because it's adult night at our local swim club. I told him we might be able to go if I got my period today (told him a couple of days ago), so if I tell him no he'll know something's up.

So sorry to hear steph - maybe they should look at starting you on femera/letrozole? It's really helped a lot of women with PCOS!

Oh blimey, I don't go in hot tubs very often at all but I will just steer clear now I think! Although my husband and his friend have arranged a surprise weekend away for the four of us (including friend's gf) on July 8, and I'm pretty sure it will be some kind of spa scenario. Perhaps I'll test before just in case!

Ah that's annoying. Yeah I think you'll just have to say AF hasn't arrived. Say it super casually!

Well I'm definitely going to tell him just how crappy the Clomid made me feel and ask what alternatives he is able to prescribe. Thanks Abe :)

So sorry Zoe :(

AFM I'm thinking I have ovulated around 12th, today I had some spotting which could be ovulation spotting I guess. We dtd on 12th at night so fingers crossed we weren't too late. Haven't been able to dtd last 2 days as we have been away staying in the same room as our little one but hoping to dtd tonight just in case! X

@abe
I didn't know hot tubs were bad either, thanks for the heads up!

AFM - I'm afraid I have a bad update. Went for an impromptu scan (sono) today at a family friend's clinic. They were closed for the public holiday and my sister, who is a doctor (but focuses on kidneys) said we could pop in and use the machine. She did the scan and found multiple cysts on both ovaries. We were both a bit shocked that my fear of PCOS seems to have actually come true. She said to wait for the blood tests in 2 weeks from the gynecologist, but I could tell from her face that she was clearly thinking PCOS. I guess I shouldn't be as shocked as I am; I have suspected it since I came of the pill and had those 40-55 day cycles.
It's hit me fairly hard. I held it together until I got home but then I fell into hubby's arms and started bawling. My sister recommended a fertility clinic about an hour's drive from us so I will call there tomorrow and try and make an appointment. I guess we're here now, no more pretending my crazy cycles might just be stress and go away by themselves. My current cycle is already on day 50 and no ovulation still. I don't know what will happen next for us now, I'm still processing that we really need fertility treatment :(

Sorry to hear that fluffy but please do not get too down about it. I have had a scan that showed multiple cysts on my ovaries. I was told that you can have the cysts and not full blown syndrome. However if you do have PCOS there are so many treatments available and lots of women with PCOS go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies.

I know this probably won't stop you worrying but keep smiling :)

Oh, I'm sorry cookie :( DH's cousin was diagnosed with PCOS just after they had been trying for a year. They had a healthy baby girl naturally, and two baby boys via IVF. PCOS doesn't mean the end of your journey :)

Hopefully the bloods come back with positive news. Have you thought of changing up your diet a bit to a more PCOS friendly one?

thank you sara, sadly all the little cysts in combination with my annovulatory cycles and the abnormal cycle length - it does look like it. will get a blood test as soon as I can (in 2 weeks at the latest) to be sure though. I hope that whatever treatment they might offer will be covered by my insurance and get my cycles in order quickly! I've only had two ovulations this year, hopefully treatment will change that and we will stand a chance to get pregnant this year still... I would have loved to be pregnant by our anniversary in September but I guess that's definitely not going to happen now.

@abe
I hope we will be able to conceive with a little medical help, IVF seems pretty daunting to me. Since I have suspected PCOS, I have already changed my diet to be PCOS friendly about two weeks ago. My BMI is 20 though, so I'm definitely not overweight (I think 19-25 is normal for my age?), so I'm not sure how much help the change in diet will be. Determined to do anything that *might* help though!

A PCOS diet is less about weight (while it can help with that) and more about what foods can help balance out hormones and lower your chances of cysts.

It can still happen by your anniversary :) I've got my fingers crossed that it'll happen. All of the testing for IVF is way more daunting than the process itself... just a lot of needles haha, but it can be quite a draining process. Hopefully you won't need it!
