General Christmas chat thread!

My area moved to tier 4 which is basically lockdown, at midnight last night. They announced at 4pm and by 5 apparently the shopping centres were packed!

It's crazy. People are panicking and then cramming into shops to get last minute shopping done and mingling even more

We are in tier 2. Do we not get the 5 days over Christmas anymore? Some family have said that we only get Christmas day to have family visits now?
So confusing with all the changes

I think I'm going with "if it doesn't come we can go without it" I'd rather not have those last few bits than fight in crowds like that.

Unfortunately that's how I read it. Tier 4 no socialising at all. Other tiers Christmas day only!

Wish we could just see my family Christmas day even just to exchange gifts

Sorry to hear about you all in the UK. Most of my family live in London and Walsall, and have said they can’t see anyone over Christmas.

Here in California our ICU’s are full, so we are on a lockdown again too, will just be hubby, myself and the kids this year (is it bad that I’m not totally upset that we don’t get to see the Inlaws?

Not at all, I think there's quite a few who are secretly pleased they can have a quiet one

I am so sad & angry with the new rule - I do not get to see any of my family this Christmas as they are in Tier 4 (we are Tier 2) after the horrible year we have had with my sister all my parents wanted to do was see the grandchildren at Christmas and now we cannot see them at all

I'm sorry Twag. The rules are so hard. I won't be able to see my 14 year old goddaughter this year. I haven't seen her since last Christmas. She has stage 4 cancer and part of me is terrified I will never see her again.

My custom hats I had made for the dance teachers never came. The last day of dance was the 19th. I'm still missing a couple of other things as well. This is so stressful.
