***January 2020 Testing Thread***

Freaked myself out again this morning. My temp dropped from 36.64 to 36.45 this morning so I jumped out of bed to take a test and the line was quite a bit lighter than yesterday. On top of it I have horrendous back and stomach cramps this morning. Drank a pint of water and tested again and it's back to being really strong. Could it be the hook effect at only 4wks5? Going to try my digital later a hope for 3+ then I'm gonna stop testing and temping because i can't keep stressing myself out. Has anyone got any experience with the back and stomach cramps this early on. Can it be normal? I just can't get rid of the fear this will still go wrong so I darent even register with the midwives yet. I'm sorry I keep posting loads of pictures on here but I have no one else to ask and Im worrying over every little niggle. The top was fmu and the bottom was 2 hours later after drinking water

@Laurabub84

I reckon could be the hook effect! Might be twins! ;) some people I've heard do get better tests with SMU rather then FMU I have heard though!

I'm sorry about the cramps though, that would be nerve wracking :hugs:I hope all settles down for you xx

So the update on me, I went to my Dr today, she said with my cycles being so short a Luteal Phase of 8 days is probably normal, I am not convinced though as I had always heard implantation can take 10 days so if it took that long I'd already have my period before it implanted :sad1:

Anyhow she decided to send me for a blood hormone test anyway since my cycles have been getting progressively shorter from 29 days down to 23 days.

I forgot to ask though if I need to do the test at any specific time in my cycle. :dohh:

Any chance some of you ladies have done hormone blood tests and know if there's a specific time I should get it done?

@Laurabub, sorry you're going through such stressful times :( I hope you get to see baby on ultrasound soon so you're able to relax a little.

@Lightning, the majority of hormone levels are being checked on CD3 of your cycle. From what I know, CD3 bloodwork includes an ultrasound & checking your FSH + LH + estrogen + AMH levels, thyroid, egg reserve/quality, estradiol, etc.

Or was she simply talking about checking your progesterone levels? That would then be around 7 days past your ovulation of course. But if she wants to do a whole work up, it's on CD3.

While it can be "normal" to have a shorter LP when you have shorter cycles, that doesn't mean it's a good thing - the LP should be 10 days at the very least to ensure the eggy has enough time to properly implant. I would get that checked out asap!

Luckily there are quite a few things that can be done to lengthen your LP. Do you already take a Vitamin B complex for example?

I had period like cramps right up till around 6weeks... I'm now almost 26 weeks

So I am 10dpo today and still getting BFN although have only used cheap strip tests from Amazon so far. Have sore full boobs which is promising but this afternoon I have a headache - tend to get one a few days before AF so feeling out tbh. :( Anyone had a headache just before a BFP?

Thank you ladies. Got this today so I'm going to stop testing and get registered with the midwife. Still got mild cramps in my stomach but I think unless it gets really painful or I have any bleeding I'm going to just ride it out and hope it's all normal and it passes. I'll be 5 weeks on Tuesday so I think it's too early to ring for my early scan I was told I'd be able to have. Would like to be able to see a heartbeat so I think i'd have to wait another 2 weeks. Just hope it goes by relatively quick and uneventful. Good luck to all you ladies still waiting for your bfps. Will stick around to see how everyone gets on

Hey everyone! New to the group I'm 26 and this cycle is my first ttc! I should be 7 DPO according to my ovulation positive this month. Wanting to test so bad but honestly havent felt any symptoms besides cramping and some other small things but also been trying my best to not look for signs and get my hopes up. I've read some of this thread and my heart goes out to everyone waiting. Its crazy how long some have to go through this! Wishing everyone their positive soon! Also would love any advice for someone new stepping into this journey :pink:

Yes and I been having one every day since and a bad one right now. Good luck!

Hey ladies!
My first time in the 2ww thread,
This would/will be baby #2.

I usually get mittelschmerz {ov pain} but I did not get it this month and we bd right on expected ov day which was Jan 10. I don't test for ov.

TMI-Today i had the smallest spotting when in the loo. And i don't ever recall spotting this many days before my af is due its usually just the day before so I am trying stay positive.

Im itching to do a test tomorrow and if negative I'll wait till after expected period.

Good luck and baby dust to all of you

Thanks for the info @Pineberry
I had only gone to the Dr to ask about the short Luteal Phase as it concerned me but she just brushed it off as normal for my short cycles, is there someone other then a GP I should see instead? Or just try a different GP?

The hormone testing she decided to do isn't including an ultrasound, its just a blood test and she just wrote on it fertility hormone levels but didn't tell me if I had to do it on a specific day ](*,) and I didn't think to ask until we had left.

I wasn't taking a B complex though i have been taking blackmores pregnancy gold which does have some B vits in it, I do have a B complex which I can start taking though. Should I take it aswell as the blackmores prenatal or instead? And is there anything else i can do to lengthen the LP?

Hey all! Congrats to those who've gotten their BFPs and I'm sorry to all who AF got. AF came yesterday for me and I got the green light to start my fourth FET cycle (Baby #1), so I'll be heading over to the February test thread. GL to everyone still waiting!!!

Honestly it's the worst when a GP just brushes your concerns off. Even IF your concern wasn't really something to worry about, a GP should always be empathetic and listen. I'd probably see a different GP about your short Luteal Phase, one who takes you way more seriously! An 8 day LP is something to be looked into, and shorter cycles (less than 25 days) should definitely be checked as they can make it less likely to conceive.

I'd call & ask what day you're supposed to come in!

Hmm if I were you I would definitely look into getting a prenatal or complex that has all of the Vitamin B's in it and plenty thereof. This is the one I've been taking for a few months now & I feel it's helped as I haven't been experiencing LP spotting as much:

Especially B6 is an important factor in lengthening your LP!

Just so this post won't end up being toooo long, here is a really cool link that has a lot of info about short LPs and how to help lengthening it:

+ Let us know what comes of your hormone testing :) And dont be worried, there's nearly nothing nowadays that can't be fixed! <3

Morning everyone.

Thank you to Taybabes, Laurabub and Hoping4number3 for the information they gave to me.

Sorry to those that AF have shown and congrats to the BFPs and line progressions! Welcome some new members to the thread. We need to start a new February test thread soon too.

Lightning - I'm hoping you get some answers soon. Hopefully last month was the shortest month that you will have and your cycles start to get progressively longer. Mine went from 24 days up to 25 and now this cycle was 26.

I've bought some fertility friendly lube (like Preseed) to possibly help things. CD4 here. Also, just going to continue doing my BBT, but have decided not to try OPKs yet. I want to try keeping things casual and not too stressful, which isn't easy but probably the best thing. Good luck to all trying.

AF is due in 7-8 days. Tested this morning & BFN. I know it's still early. For the past few days my heart rate has been on the higher side... I am keeping my FX that's a good sign!
