September 08 Mummies and Daddies Club

Lylas_mummy and xHx and i've added you to OP x

Charlie; i freeze pureed carrot no problems but with carrot sticks i think they might go quite soft and mushy to then give as a finger food maybe worth a try with one or two though.

Nope no words from my daughter, she chatters away doing the whole ooooooooo eeeeeeeeee aaaaaaaaaaaa bit but no words tho it did sound like she said mamam the other day when she was crying but that was probably just my wishful thinking :dohh:

Ellie a september baby to. She was born on the 24th she wasnt due until 3rd oct though. Well all the babies on here seem to be getting on so well! Ellie hasnt gotten any teeth yet shes a tiny tot. I had her weighed last week and she was 16lb 6oz. Shes not in any hurry to be doing things fast she rolled over late but now theres not stopping her. Shes been sitting up for about a month now and shes sort of trying to crawl. She plays peep po with me and she shakes her head when i say no and she plays patter cake with me. She claps my hand when i sing it its very cute. She sleeps through and has done since she was 3 months old. She has 3 meals a day and puddings and ive started with the finger foods her favourites are mango fingers and humous on pitta bread and ive just started to give her lumpier foods which she seems fine with. Shes still having 3-4 breastfeeds a day shes using me as a dummy really.

With the carrot batons i freeze them any cook them as i need them last longer that way.

 hi emma. Sounds like you and your Ellie are doing really well :happydance:

what I find great for foods like banana and soft veggies and stuff is this: [url said:

it pushes the food through the mesh when they chew on if making it easy to eat so you don't have to worry about them choking and they can feed themselves.

I have one of these and agree it is a star buy..it totally eliminates the worry of choking!

Got mine from asda, was only like £2.00!

Maxs 4th tooth came through today :happydance: im sooo glad as he has been Mr Cranky for the last 2 days!!

xXx

I bought one of those the other day. Gonna stick some watermelon in it for her to suck on in a minute.

Just gave her some peaches and cottage cheese and she seemed to like that alright :)

Those munchkin feeders look great ill be getting myself down asda and getting one im terrible for worrying about choking!

Emma same here! Im awful, and Max had a 'rusk incident' the other day and so the feeder really helped, you'll be pleased when you get one! They do lots of different colours too (im one of these mums that has colour co-ordinating accessories! Im quite sad!)

xXx

And she didnt even like it! I thought she would like sucking on the juice...Nope!

Oh nooo! I find Max likes banana and peach slices in it, have u tried those?

xXx

emilias strange when it comes to banana, she'll eat it mashed but not as a finger food :dohh:

Our health vistors demonstrated these at the weaning advice class they give then said not to buy them becuase they're really bad for babies teeth! There's always conflicting advice though...:dohh:

Oh bugger! Luckily Max uses it rarely now as he just holds a banana..but a few months ago he loved it! Oh dear! :(

I was just wondering as Max loves all sorts of foods. But with toast as a finger food, do you just put a thin layer of butter on or just plain toast? He seems to like it when he tries some of mine, may start adventuring with that at breakfast time!

xXx

Ive ordered myself one of the feeding things. I think as long as you put good things in them they will be fine. Im sure if you started sticking chocolate cake in them then they would be bad for their teeth im sure abit of banana would be fine surely?

hey september mamas! Anyone have a crawler on their hands yet? Kathryn just started crawling today (it's mothers day here too!):cloud9: it seems like she's learning so much at once, she's mastered pulling herself up to a sitting position the past day or so and pulled herself up to stand the night before last, she's doing it all at once and is growing up so fast

banana is great! Kathryn likes it, it's one of the only fruits she'll eat.
