Warning All Pregnant Women: Miscarriages From H1N1 Vaccine As High As 3,587 Cases

My problem was the scarmongering title. I am all for research but If I had posted this I would have said it is a new piece of research and has notyet been confirmed.
xx

Its good to be kept informed. I was offered the Swine Flu Vaccine but didn't take it, as there doesn't seem to have been any cases since last winter.

i do think it was a mistake to post it in first tri i agree with aidans mummy it could really upset some people especially those who feel quite vulnerable when newly pregnant.

My problem with the thread is the title and the obvious copy and paste with no additional comment from the original poster.

If you're going to cite a research paper, article or whatever, it's polite to add your own comments to the post.

As it is, it's just a link and a copy and paste. Personally I think it's a load of shite. Don't we have enough to worry about? Without more scaremongering!

If the vaccine wasn't 'safe', it wouldn't be given to pregnant women.
Everyone can make up their own mind whether to have whatever vaccine/meds are advised but articles like this just confuse people even more.

Not to trivialise it but many women suffer M/C and other problems, who's to say what caused it?

If I listened to every bit of 'advice' here, I'd be even more of a nervous wreck!

Yes, freedom of speech and all that and obviously the OP didn't mean to upset or worry anyone, but sometimes a bit of forethought would be prudent, in my opinion.

Just to clarify, i was not referencing in any way to peoples levels of common sense or judgement etc by writing what i wrote. I was merely saying in a round about way that there is no reason why she couldn't put this research up to inform and advise other people of what she has read and that people can read into it what they like as its entirely up to the individual how they perceive the study and what they get out of it.

Vaccinations as a whole are entirely up to the individual at the end of the day. People who have them and people who don't, don't lack in common sense and I for one do not mind if people agree of disagree with what i have written as again, that is peoples own decision and i completely respect that :)

Whoever wrote that article was very misinformed and should have looked into all factors before publishing it because i can see many flaws in it. Scaremongery is never a good thing and when it comes down to expectant mothers, its something that certainly should not be looked upon so flippantly.

I mean no offense by my post and for anyone who thought i was referencing to peoples common sense and judgement, i apoligise, you have me completely wrong! xx

Also just to add..

Maybe this should have been put on the discussions thread rather than in the trimesters threads, that way people could read it if they wanted to but its not directly there to the people who are currently in the midst of being pregnant. Like aidans mummy said, its probably not in the best place posting it in these sections.

I'm not sure if this was in response to my comment...if it was, my comment wasn't aimed at you. :flower:

Id like to see the evidence that proves that those women... would NOT have had a misscaridge if they had NOT had the vaccine... O WAIT YOU CANT... i havnt had the vaccine but to those who have i wouldnt worry like i said prove it wouldnt have happend anyways... its like if someone eats a grapefruit then suddenly gets cancer... clearly the grapefruit caused it... utter crap

It's a load of crap and total scaremongering, OP you are anti vaccination in general so i think this was posted for a reaction .. and all over the tri sections, nice.

Whether or not it is a load of crap is irrelevant. That in itself is a sweeping statement -
Much like my common sense comment (to be fair to the posters that didn't like it!)

The OP is totally entitled to be anti vaccine like everyone else is to be pro, she should not be bashed for copy and pasting an article!

She may be entitled to her opinion but she isnt entitled to scare everyone senseless! There is a big deference between saying 'I think this and I think it because of this' and saying that there is a definite link between the vaccine and miscarriage. xxx

Bit of an irresponsible way to post it.

I read it before bed and couldn't sleep last night for thinking about it as I was vaccinated at 11weeks.

The OP could have found a much more appropriate way to post it rather than posting it all over the forum to scare people.

I chose not to have the H1N1 shot, nor do I get flu shots. My child will also not have these shots. I have never gotten a flu shot in my life and I've never gotten the flu. My body fights sickness very well and IMO its because I let my immune system do what its supposed to instead of feeding it full of lab created things. You have to do your research and decide whats best for you- whether that is get the shot or decline it.

She should ar least comment on it and say it is only research. The title makes it sound like itis fact which by the looks fo it hasn't been proven. Yes being informed is great. But you should always show the other side when it hasn't been proved especially when pregnant women are concerned they constanlty worry about MC. Especially in the first tri

Like someone said it should have been posted in the debates section. I am all for debate but not when it is scaring other women. And alot of people feel it has
xx

its not a case of if she was entitled to her opinion it was a post that was biased and based on bad bad facts... it wasnt even an opinion at the end of the day it was purely an attempt to troll 2bh and if she felt it was so important to post then it should have been left in the correct forum or she should have commented her own thoughts on the subject

You shouldn't take the info given on this forum as straight fact (whatever the post may be). Everyone needs to do their own research and decide. No one here is a health professional. On the same note no one here should be bashed for posting something to spark people to research. That said I do agree the title could have been changed a bit so as not to strike panic and fear.

yes the op is entitled to her opinion and entitled to post what she wants but this topic is already controversial for many people and i dont think it was a good idea to post on all 3 forums if you look on the other forums there are quite a few women already starting to panic or worry and thats not nice personally i think its scaremongering especially as many women have already had it as recommended by their healthcare professional and to them these threads are upsetting x

Seriously? Would this article really keep you all up at night?
I just think its a total over-reaction (not aimed at you btw just in general)
Again, i see more disturbing things on the news day in day out.

Hence why i mentioned perspective earlier. Maybe i missing something here, i feel real sorry for the OP right now x

I didn't know she posted in all three tri's. Thats wrong. Thats really just scaremongering with the title the way it is. Us girls in third tri can breathe and pass it off but to be in second and first tri and read the post (or just the title) would cause me to panic and I'm not a worrier. :nope:
