April Dewdrops 2019

Ab I've definitely had spotting from an ultrasound wand before. If it's brown it's old, so that's good. I hope it stops!

No BDing unfortunately - OB told us to abstain as a precautionary step. I think it might have been due to the US on Thursday - they had to use the wand because baby was still a bit too small to see via tummy.

Just going to keep an eye on it and start praying.

That wand could absolutely have the same effect on your cervix as BD. Pregnancy can make it much more sensitive. And Belle is right, brown means it's probably "old" so I think it's likely to have been from your appointment.

I noticed your avatar pic too Flueky, it's adorbs!

Ab, it's so hard not to worry with spotting. I don't want to ask an awkward question so I'll just put it out there that BD can cause it and hopefully it's just something like that. I've had some bleeding during both of my previous pregnancies so I know how scary it is but I also know everything can turn out just fine too. ((hugs))

Fingers are crossed that it's harmless! Brown is old blood so it absolutely could be from irritation.
With DD I had brown spotting at 7 weeks and I thought I was going to miscarry again but it turned out to be a small subchorionic hematoma, basically a tiny old blood sac that had opened up. Didn't have an effect on the pregnancy at all.
Definitely call on Monday :hugs:

Thank you so much ladies :hugs: The other driver did not stay and I was in tears on the phone with my DH. I'm just so, so grateful we are all alright. Vehicles can be fixed.

Welcome Lexxii  That is amazing! Having had the gastric sleeve surgery are there any extra precautions or care you have to take while pregnant? Congratulations the 8th is quite a popular due date

Ha Flueky! The update is lovely

Echoing the other ladies ab, I pray the bleeding/spotting has come to and end and you've been put to ease

So far no extra concerns. It is considered high risk and my ob does want me to see a specialist at some point later on just to check on everything. My biggest concern is gaining weight. I havent had nausea or morning sickness if anything my appetite has increased like crazy and so im afraid im eating too much but if i dont eat often enough then i usually start feeling bad and even throw up sometimes. I dont care about my weight i just want a healthy baby and pregnancy. Me and my husband have wanted a baby since we got together. I have wanted a baby more than anything since i was like 12. I just worry that something will happen all the time. [-o<:sad1:

Welcome Lexi!

BusyTulip so glad everything is ok, how scary for you.

AB I hope the spotting has stopped and all is ok.

This insomnia is killing me. I feel exhausted yet can't get to sleep until about 3am and then I am awake every half hour until 7. Luckily I have been on holiday from work this week so I can just lounge around during the day but I feel am dreading going back next week and having to be up by 6.
Any tips to help insomnia?

I've got insomnia too Gray but mine is more like I wake up and can't fall back asleep. Sometimes I end up practicing deep breating or I'll put on a YouTube meditation video. That way even if can't get more sleep it still helps my mind and body rest a little bit more.

So yesterday when I was at work one of. my coworkers started talking about how I should have another baby. It was sooo awkward because everything I said felt like a lie but I just don't want to tell everyone yet. Not that it's a secret from close friends and family but generally I'd like to wait until I at least hear a heartbeat. Honestly I think she was prying because she suspects.

Busy forgot to say I'm glad you are okay. Car accidents are bad enough much less pregnant and/or with a child in the vehicle.

Abe I'm sure brown spotting was from tv scan. Brown is old blood and our cervix is extra sensitive when pregnant.

Weebles oh I hate when people ask things. I hate to lie even about that. I'm sure she'll understand when you reveal. If not it's her problem.

Belle is your sickness still really bad??

Congrats to all of you :)

Flueky I always seem to reach the point of vomiting every three days or so. So thankfully I'm not vomiting that often and most of the time the nausea feels pretty manageable by getting proper sleep, having ginger on hand, lemon slices, and lots of carbs at regular intervals. I'll be honest that feeling like crap is starting to feel like my new normal. Yesterday morning I was lying in bed and felt great. I immediately wondered what was wrong lol. But when I got up and started moving around again the nausea was back and I thought, oh, there's my old friend nausea back with us lol.

I have my scan tomorrow morning. I'm nervous and excited. I just hope everything is okay.

Weebles sorry for your nosy co-worker. My MIL was very nosy in the beginning too because she suspected and it was dreadfully annoying. I kept thinking "for goodness sake you'll find out when it's time"

Lexi are you going to meet with a dietician to discuss how to best maximise your nutrient intake at this time? Congratulations btw!

With my first pregnancy, I was with my in-laws the day after my BFP. I was so tired and thirsty and too caught off guard to fake drink. I tried to say it was just a hangover from New Year’s Eve, but my mil cornered me in the bathroom and basically made me tell her I was pregnant. That pregnancy ended in an mmc so she’s backed off more since.

Gag - fx it’s just from the wand.

Belle - Every 3 days is great! I didn’t get there until 2nd tri. Sleep is so important, and feeling bad definitely becomes the new normal.

That sounds awful gray. Maybe try magnesium? It can help with both sleep and constipation. I usually fall asleep no problem, but I wake up at 2 and 5. I take my levo at 5 so I can eat at 6 so that one isn’t bad, but sometimes I wake up at 2 and then every hour after that. If that happens, I just feel sick all day and work and taking care of my 1 yo are tough! I usually fall back asleep ok if I practice some deep breathing and do my bedtime visualization (I picture myself on the day we reached our first camp above the clouds on Kilimanjaro, sitting on a rock, looking out, and then just drifting off with the clouds as they pass by). So I guess a couple of things to consider: Are you napping during the day? Do you do things other than sleep and sex in bed? Do you have a good bedtime routine? Do you practice mindfulness and visualization. I also usually recommend that if you don’t fall asleep within 15 minutes, get up, do something low key/low light no electronics (I use podcasts for this a lot), repeat your routine and try again. Last night I watched a movie in bed on my computer (I usually avoid this but I’ve been doing it more bc my body is just so exhausted- making a human is hard work!) and then when I tried to fall asleep I was wide awake. After 15 minutes, I went downstairs, asked DH for a massage, he gave a nice long neck/back massage, then back upstairs and it was lights out. Good luck!

Praying for a beautiful scan tomorrow Belle

How annoying Weebles and what a weird thing for someone to bring up

Lexxii I could see how that would be difficult. Not wanting to undo any progress, but also feeling like you're getting all your baby needs. I think it was Belle that asked about you seeing a nutritionist, that may be helpful given you probably have to pack a lot of nutrients into a smaller amount of food. Congrats again. I have a friend that had weight loss surgery (differing from yours) but she was able to finally conceive as well and has a beautiful little boy running around keeping her busy. But I do know that she's had quite the journey. Praying everything goes beautifully for you.

Ahh Gray that is horrid, I'm incredibly sorry you're suffering through. I think the other ladies have given some sound advice. I hope you're able to find a few things that work for you so that when you return to work you aren't a zombie.

I hope everyone is getting on alright

Ab - Very likely to be from the wand. Your cervix is very sensitive when pregnant. We didn't have X for about 2-3 weeks in fear of loosing our first pregnancy. When were first did it caused my discharge to have a tinge of brown and I freaked out. It happened two or three times but every time baby was okay. I know your heart wont be calm til you see that baby is okay but I hope that gives a bit more hope that all is okay! My friend just told me they told her she was mc with her daughter who was just born recently. She said they told her she was and never planned a followup she still felt pregnant a month later and tested only to find out a month later to find out she was still pregnant and 11 weeks along so even full on bleeding the baby can be okay!

My cramping has gone down a lot but still happens 1-2 times a day usually when I lay down. My nausea is REALLY strong, I feel like I have acid in my stomach any time I get near being hungry. I wake up really nauseous too! My fatigue is still really bad but I have manged to get back working! My scan is in 9 days. Between my sister visiting and work I am hoping it goes by quick. I just need to see all is okay so I can finally feel totally excited. My breast have already gotten so much bigger its crazy.. I would say a cup size in the last 3 weeks lol I'm not leaking but I already make colostrum.. lol

Thanks for your advice Les. No napping during the day and we do have a tv in the room which was always on to get to sleep so I might try some soothing music instead.
Thank you for your sympathy ladies, I promised myself I wouldn't moan as any symptom is a good sign but I'm so tired I can't help but be a bit stroppy... my poor DH!! Haha

Hope the rest of you are getting on ok.

Goodluck for your scan tomorow Belle.

Afternoon everyone!

How long until everyone’s scans now? I’m nearly 8 weeks and don’t have my booking appointment until next Monday, and we will book the scan then!

Still barely any symptoms except extreme exhaustion, it’s hard to even stand up or lift my arms! But at night... insomnia! I can barely sleep.

I'm getting cramping too babyv. I know it's normal but it still makes me nervous.

Sorry for those suffering with morning sickness. So far I haven't had any and I didn't last time either so I'm hoping I will luck out gain.

Fruitie, 9/10 for my first appointment and scan feels so far away. It didn't when I set up the appointment but it's still 2 weeks away! I'll be about 7 weeks by then I think.

DH and I are telling his mother tonight. We've been telling family early this time but I'm not especially fond of her so wish me luck, lol.

Looks like the spotting has stopped. It got scary after I saw a clot on Saturday, but it looks like it was just the progesterone suppository coating mushed with some blood from the internal u/s. Haven't had anything else since.

Good luck at your scan today Belle!

Fruitier, I hear you on the insomnia! Couldnt fall asleep until midnight last night, and then I was wide awake at 3. Ugh.

Weebles- good luck tonight! I'm sure your MIL will be excited!

Yay abennion! I'm so glad it ended up being nothing. :)

8 weeks today. Still feeling exhausted cranky and hungry. But so far so good. Im still very worried and nervous something is going to happen to the baby. Even though i know the chances are low especially since I already had an ultrasound and seen and heard the baby's heartbeat. But still worried.

My scan this morning was great! We are measuring a day ahead at 8 weeks 4 days. So my EDD has changed to April 4! She didn't calculate the heart rate but we got to see that little heart flicker away at top speed :) looked like a strong healthy heart beat to me! The relief is palpable. I cried lol
