April Dewdrops 2019

My new response when someone says I hardly look pregnant:
"The other day I farted with a full bladder and had to change my underwear. I'm definitely pregnant."

Hahahaha! I really should say this to people. I have had this quite a bit and it’s really annoying!! Especially coming from people who have never been pregnant and don’t know anything about it.. makes me so angry! Makes you feel worried for baby as well. Some people just don’t get how their words can effect people.

I do hope I get more “round” soon. My partner does say my weights shifting from everywhere and moving to my tummy.. just want it to look more round than fat .

Had my 20 week scan today and found out we’re having a baby boy!!!

Awe Maple Congrats!!!

My anatomy scan is in 3 days. I also will be having a 3D/4D scan 2 weeks later at Maternal Fetal Medicine that happens to be my birthday so while its for checking babies growth due to my health condition it will fun having our first 3D scan on my birthday!

Today my husband got a vasectomy, he was really scared but did it for the safety of my health and that meant so much to me! While we were in there baby was kicking and it reminded me of our infertility journey. 4 very long heartbreaking years of trying, all testing, procedures, and surgery just to still be told IVF was the only hope. Then one November day 4 years ago being surprised with our first son, 3 years after he is born right when we think its confirmed I am infertile again (scar tissue) I find out I am pregnant with our second little guy! So as baby is kicking me and I am just thinking how grateful I am to be there a mom of two boys. While it was crazy to watch our future as parents be changed so permanently it reminded me of how far we have come. We are now choosing not to have more children after years of thinking we would never have any.

Just catching up see i’ve missed quite a bit. I’ve had a busy and stressful week full of tension up at court as a witness giving evidence against my ex who badly assaulted me last year.

Katie- sorry your going through similar, i’ve a list of questions to ask at the appointment with this specialist.

Busytulip- Thanks I am also glad they are keeping a close eye on it. Sorry to hear about your hospital stay but so glad to hear both babies are doing great and your back home.

Babyvaughan- Thanks for your message just reading your reply has put my mind at rest with regards to the c-section. It’s also really reassuring to know and gives me hope that you conceived twice with one working ovary as this was a concern of mine if one had to be removed. That’s brilliant you are feeling kicks now it’s such an amazing feeling! I hope you anatomy scan goes well.

Belle- That sounds awful! Hope you are feeling better now.

Angel- That’s fantastic news so happy for you that things are now going in your favour and that baby is healthy.

Hope everyone’s well.

Everyone carries differently! I look huge already, which makes sense - I make big babies. It made me very insecure at first, but now I'm team So What? It was the same during my first pregnancy, got a lot of dumb remarks from friends and strangers alike. "Are you SURE it's not twins?!" Oh my gosh wow you must be right and my OB is super incompetent and must have missed it GFHGAFHGAGDA .
Anyway, there's no "should" to what a pregnant belly looks like on the outside at any given time. What matters is baby is doing well inside of it :)

This is me also.... 19 weeks and absolutely huge!! I look almost full term! I feel very self conscious and these remarks from co-workers and friends of ‘are you sure there’s only one in there?’ And ‘you must be having twins and ones hiding’ are getting very annoying now... was funny the first few times now it just pissing me off, haha that made me laugh though your totally right, there is no ‘should’ to what a pregnant belly is like, people should just keep those remarks to themselves.

Hey everyone. Hope all is well. I have been quiet lately but i try to keep up with the posts. 22 weeks today. I still can't wrap my mind around how long I have been pregnant. Seems like i just found out like a month ago. Apparently my dr office does another scan after the anatomy scan to check growth rate so i have that coming up next week. I have to do a 3 hr glucose test tomorrow. Idk how they expect a pregnant woman to go so long without food. Lol. I'm going to be starved by the end of it. I really hope it comes back normal. I have my 18 month follow up with my bariatric dr tomorrow as well. Its my first appt since getting pregnant so I'm pretty sure they are going to be shocked. I hope all you ladies are doing okay.

Crownest - Yay for V day!

My anatomy scan is tomorrow!

Happy V day crow!

Good luck at your scan Vaughan!

Good luck with the glucose test Lexi!

Sorry to hear about your court ordeal Jamie's!

AFM I'm officially "noticeably" pregnant, as in, people who didn't know that I am pregnant can now tell. Crazy stuff!

I find it hard to catch up! But I hope everyone and their little babies are doing well?!

I had my 20 week scan today and despite him making it difficult at first to get a good look at everything - his favourite position is to curl up in a ball! He is perfectly healthy :) and still a boy, he gave us a good flash

My anatomy scan today, we weren't able to get all the pictures needed he wouldn't move from one position so we couldn't get any of the belly/heart pictures. He was being super cute kicking non stop the entire time and moving his fingers to his nose and mouth! She said normally I would have to come back in a week or so to try again but since I have a scan at MFM on the 17th they will get the rest of the pictures then! I have my OB checkup/results from what they could get pictures of on Thursday!

Lexi- good luck with your glucose test.

Crow- Happy V day

Baby Vaughan- hope your scan went well.

Pink bow- that’s amazing news.

I have the doctors on Friday to get bloods taken to check my liver function and sugar level as having a bad time with severe itching the last few weeks. Also getting my flu and whooping cough vaccine at the same time. After that I have the dentist to get a tooth extracted so not looking forward to all that in the one day.
Hope everyone’s keeping well.

Thanks to everyone for wishing me luck on my glucose test. I passed the three hour. I justa about starved to death but i made it through. Lol. Fasting is torture for a pregnant woman who doesn't sleep good at night. I have another scan next week and another dr appointment. Hopefully the weather cooperates so i can go to them. We have a bad snow storm headed our way over the next few days.

Great news Lexxi! We are frozen here it was 18 degrees today. I need to go to the doctor but decided to not to because of road conditions so I understand your concerns there!

Oh yes I can relate to snow storms! We got a foot of snow last weekend. Roads were a mess for a couple days afterwards till they got them plowed. Hope the storm won't cause you too much trouble Lexi!

Vaughan it sounds like your baby is doing really well! So glad to hear it!

I think most of us must be at the 20 week mark by now?? Halfway through ladies!!

Next week I'll hit the viability milestone, which makes me so excited!!

What are people's thoughts on planning/hosting your own baby shower? I don't think anyone is going to step up to plan mine. My mother lives in Mexico (and we're estranged), my MIL doesn't think its her job, my SILs are not the party planning type, and all of my friends assume that I'm going to have one but that someone else is going to host it for me! I'm not sure how it would be perceived if I hosted my own??

I would do it.

My SILs have all stepped up to plan mine - my one SIL volunteered to plan it when we told her the news back in August. MIL is delegating which SIL is in charge of what.

Go for it Belle at least you will have the party you want and people might volunteer to do some of the jobs for you.

The day has finally arrived I'm on crutches I had hoped for a few more weeks off them but I had a fall so my options are no walking or limited walking with crutches won t be easy with lively 3 year old. I would Definately recommend early physio for SPD though I would be a lot worse without it.

Oh no Crow! Hopefully you won't be on them for too long.

V-day is tomorrow! So hard to believe a lot of us are coming up to, or already passed this! It's starting to get exciting!

Thanks Abe and Crow!

Crow so sorry to hear about your fall and that you are now on crutches!

Happy V day to you tomorrow Abe!

Katie and I are celebrating V day today! Seems so crazy to be here already!
