Sm I think I might start expressing as well so dh can help with night feeds as I'm feeding him about every 3 hrs throughout the night and I feel like a zombie! Xx

Hiya everyone. Hope your all well. I try and pop on here once a day, I dont get much chance to get on here more than that at the mo.

Niamhs jaundice is stadting to go now. Midwife says when it's gone, and she has gained her weight back, then we can get back on track for exclusive breastfeeding :-D

Rah i managed to get him to feed off one boob today the health visitor helped me and he fed but i cant get him on the other one have put him back on the same boob twice since and he has fed so im hoping to keep that boob up at least

Rooster, its really a massive help having hubby help out means we both get about 6 hours sleep a night which is like heaven after the 3 hourly feeds....i dunno when they go up to 4 hourly feeds but my sis said if you time it right you can get away with 1 horrid night feed and then one late one before bed and one early one in the morning

Jenny thats fab news about Niamh! she is such a cutie Are you mix feeding or expressing?

Keep offering him the other boob babies always prefer one side to the other I find Layla likes the side I got help with I think its coz I'm much more confident in that side
I had the feeds sorted like your sister said we cluster fed till 10pm then had a feed at 3 &7am
But yesterday that went out the window after the snip of the tongue tie hoping that it goes back that way soon

Thanks Rah will keep trying and might go to a bf class next week if i can sneak a lift funny i wonder if it is a confidence thing then i dont think i have a good hold for him on the left, i use the rugby hold on the right but he screams and screams if i try the left boob

Awww no! such a shame to lose your routine sounds like a really good one too!! But at least now she can feed easier and hopefully you can encourage her back to the same routine

Any ideas when/how to extend feeding to 4 hourly? Also DJs belly button fell off today thank god! hated that thing LOL but health visitor said we can start bathing him now but i dunno how often we are supposed to do that?!? x

Im breastfeeding and supplimenting with 3oz bottles of formula. Tried to express but I cant get anything out with the pump, and hand expressing hurts a lot.

I need to get my butt on here more, I havnt seen pics of mny others lo's
Just finding it hard to find time at the mo.

Jenny i know what you mean, im struggling to get on here or reply properly with all the feeds and expressing etc have you tried an electric pump? i coulnt get on with the manual one at all

I bath 2ce a week do a quick dunk if needed coz of a nappy disaster and just wash her how dirty can a baby get? Also Layla has peeling skin at the mo so the less I mess the better really

As for going 4 hours pass baby will do what it wants really ff babies don't always go 4hours thats why they end up with huge amounts of milk coz parents think they should sleep.

Thanks Rah im gonna try and bath him tonight but he is in a fussy mood today so it may not go well! i have no idea what im doing LOL but i'll give it a crack

damn, i was hoping they moved to 4 hourly feeds quick guess we will have to work out our routine a bit better to get through this stage

DJ has peeling skin too, is that normal? x

Yeah it's normal just while it gets used to being dry after being in fluid will go in a week or so I'm not putting anything on it just leaving it

I wipe eyes with cotton wool wash hair while out of the bath and wrapped in the towel then dunk her in quick wipe over then out
She's at the stage where she loves being in the water and cries when she comes out

Hi ladies, I'm the same as everyone else, struggling to get on here at the moment.Tom has been really restless last couple of days and feeding constantly. Hv came told me today and said he is in middle of a growth spurt which is apparently common at three weeks. I'm so tired but don't mind he is so worth it.

I'm going to try my electric pump later, I don't do too bad with manual jst boring

Just been for a lovely walk with oh n Tom in pram, fish n chips on prom and OH just taken tom for another walk so I can get a bath

I love these sunny nights lol x

We finally got out pram on Monday and I don't feel like a prisoner anymore! Went for a lovely walk in the park with him earlier. Still need to get used to bf in public. How does anyone else feel about bf in public?

I'm yet to feed in public but was ok with It last time so just getting confidence now we are feeding better then I'm feeding away and no one can stop me lol

Apple it is lovely getting out for a walk with the bubs isnt it we been going on small walks round the block and it feels amazing to get out even if its just a small escape! I also made it to the shops today, my sis took me bless her

Rooster, have you tried throwing a muslin over? or maybe using a wrap to carry baby and you can bf using the wrap? i dunno, i cant even get mine on the boob let along in public but try not to worry about it, people are so involved in their own worlds they wont even notice i swear i have NEVER seen anyone bf other than my friend who was sat infront of me talking to me about bfing! LOL

My fenugreek arrived today, just taken my first load, lets hope it works

I have bf in public a couple of times, it's not too bad. I just cover his head, he settles better when I do that as he always wants to know what's going on lol. I'm going to look out for a nice scarf when I'm out and about..

Good tip for all, I saw a good clip on You Tube last night for getting wind up. Tom been really restless last few days so oh had a look on internet to see if he could take anything. Technique we found was to rock lo side to side between patting and rubbing his back then if this didn't work rub his tummy in clockwise circle then gently hold ankles and bend knees towards tummy.

Honestly I had been trying for hours to settle tom and had a few little burps but within 10 mins of oh doing this tom did two huge!! Burps a few bottom burps.lol and a big poop x he then settled straight away

Def worth a try if bubbas seem unsettled x

Rah i hate winding tooooo! takes forever and i never really know if its all out until either he makes it to the next feed or he pukes everywhere
