Gwen, that fear is totally normal. I don’t qualify for genetic testing. My family history/age isn’t a risk. So I just get the standard ethnic based ones and nt stuff. My son had autism, an expressive speech delay, sensory processing disorder, and was small for gestational age. But his genetic testing came back normal, so they won’t test this pregnancy. I want to know as much as possible because having one child with special needs that requires so much, I would never be able to provide the same quality of life to either of them if both children had special needs. I was told to consider amnio in that case, but my mom lost a baby that way so not really something I jump at. I’m currently 7w4d my prenatal is on Wednesday.
Baby, thanks! No advice sorry. I don’t have much of a natural sweet tooth. So just the usual cut out as much artificial sugars as you can. My big thing is access. I eat what I have access to. So if I don’t buy food loaded up on fats and sugars, I can’t eat foods with sugar in it. And like I said, I don’t like sugars so I rarely use it in my cooking. I’ve heard of replacing sugar with organic honey. I did that in a banana nut bread once because the amount of sugar it called for was crazy lol
