**FeBrUaRy TeStInG tHrEaD** 7 BFP'S

I'm not out yet for January but I thought I'd stop by and say hi. Will follow the thread either way. I love watching everyone get their BFPs

hi hun may you get your BFP in Jan thread and you are wc here to keep an eye on us and then send us baby dust :winkwink::dust::dust::dust:

I would like to join again if I can. I think I will test on the 8th of February.

Had finally received a second opinion from a new Gyno and got the same results. There is nothing wrong with me. Although I do have a very uncommon case of a "sensitive ovary". I constantly have sharp pains on my right side and it hurt really bad when they did an ultrasound to look at my right ovary. There was nothing there that they could see that should cause this pain and I already had a laprascopic surgery last year, which they found nothing was wrong. Anyone have a problem similar to this?

Anyways, they want to do another sperm count for DH, but we have to wait a week since this week I should be ovulating. Guess we'll see what the upcoming months will bring. :dust:

Hi Calitronagrl wc GL..:dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::dust:

Can I join? Will test on the 4th. We are ttc #1 and this is our 2nd cycle truly trying. Last month I used only my period tracker app info to determine when I was ovulating, so it was a rough estimate since it uses the "average" womans cycle to figure out O. My cycle is 26-27 days. This month I have been temping and will be using OPKs. My estimate is that I will O on the 21st this month so I will test on Feb. 4th. If I get a positive then or soon after I hope I can wait till the 14th to tell my hubby as a Valentines Day surprise :baby:

Today is CD 8 and I will start poas for my OPKs on tomorrow!!! I have never used them before, any suggestions???

GL Ladies!!!

:dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::dust: To Everyone!!!

What type of OPK are you using?

I ask because I used the IC's last cycle and I've read just about everywhere not to use FMU with them and I tested ~1 pm and about ~10 pm every day and never got a true positive - ever for the entire cycle - even though temps showed I ovulated about CD 20. Got Target generic OPKs this cycle, which are virtually identical and their instructions say to use with FMU. I'm now using those with FMU (since CD 2) and think by tomorrow, I'll start using them twice a day - the second one being about 12 hours after the test with the FMU. Starting tomorrow with the second test, even though it will only be CD 11 for me, because I have brief, mid-cycle spotting about a week pre-o and it showed up last night. I test for the whole cycle, because this is only my second with the OPKs and I'm trying to get as much data on my cycles as possible, to help speed this ttc adventure along!

I got the Kroger generic ones. Which I probably won't do again, they are too expensive even for a generic. $15 for 7 tests. Where can I get some accurate cheap ones? I will use these up then get them from somewhere else. I prefer to get them in person and not online.

I started yesterday afternoon testing, it was clearly negative. I am going to use your suggestion and use them twice a day, but only up until I get a positive then I'm going to stop. Hope I can more accurately find out when I O this cycle.

I will be doing 1 test after work around 3 and then another in the evening before bed around 10. Mine say not to use FMU, also how strict do I have to be about the 4 hours of holding it before poas? That is a long time for me!

This is my first month temping, any tips out there? Does my chart look ok so far? It seems to be bouncing around a bit... I take my temp at about the same time every morning 5:30 when my alarm for work goes off. I keep the thermometer on my nightstand so I don't have to move much to get to it and take my temp laying down still in bed. I however do get up almost every morning between 3:30-4:30 to pee. I know this may change my temp a little but I figured since it is pretty consistent that my temps wouldn't be too affected. Do you think that will affect my temps a lot?

Thanks!!

FX that we get our :bfp:'s this month!!!

Dhbh- what time do you go to bed? If you wake up consistently to pee, maybe set your alarm for 330 and take your temp then, also this month I'm temping vaginally, because orally my chart looked like a yoyo! What a difference vaginally makes! I only have a .4 degree spread, compared to almost 1 degree jumps! It is a pain to do it vaginally at first, but my chart looks so much prettier.

And for those lady's waiting until o to bd, just makes sure you don't go too long without "emptying the tank", I've read it's not good for the sperm quality if they sit too long. I think it was after five days (without ejaculation) they start to die. I was told by my dr. It's best to bd every other day. But I know, sometimes that's difficult to do! She also told me every day is too much, but I've read conflicting arguments for that, but this month we're dtd eod and I'm not going to stress about it!

Hello again!!! Thanks for keeping these threads up!!! I will be testing Feb. 6th :) Thanks!! Good luck to all the women here!!!

Thanks for the help!! I'm such a newbie to all this

Usually go to bed around 10-11... I have thought of just temping when I wake up naturally to pee...but that varies sometimes. I may take the advice to set an alarm around 3 then...Is that okay if I am only asleep for about 4-5 hours before temping? If I were to start taking it vaginally should I wait for a new cycle since that would change my temp results? I don't want to mess up my chart too much.

No it is quite alright, its the reason why I put it on here. :haha:
I have seen a doctor regarding the situation when it first happened about 3 years ago. I first thought it could be my appendix, but they did blood work and a cat-scan with nothing to show. The pain is actually lower than my appendix and is around where my ovary would be, so they told me to see my Gyno (saw him last year due to losing my insurance and waiting for a new job with insurance). Which then they did a pelvic exam, ultrasound, and a laprascopic surgery, but found nothing that should be causing the pain (ovarian cancer does run in my family, but they tested for it and it was negative. Also, double-checked for it and endometriosis during my surgery).
I went and saw a second Gyno with all my medical records from my previous doctors. He also did a pelvic exam and an ultrasound. He said it has happen where women feel pain around their ovaries, but there is nothing wrong with them. It is an uncommon thing, but I shouldn't be worried about it.

At least you know you don't need to worry about it - sorry you're always in pain, though, that has to be it's own challenge.

Hey everyone - already a popular thread tulip :winkwink:

Really hoping feb is it for us it's dh's birthday and valentines day so should be plenty of :sex: opportunities!! I was massively disappointed last month (or this month we're still in) due to dh not wanting to bd so it felt like a wasted month. There is an outside chance in January still but feb is where we take action - no bd until the 3day fertile window that should mean we are ready to go

I am really lucky in the fact that I seem to o on cd20 every month so we can prepare :haha: where's everyone else in their cycles? :hugs: and :dust:

CD 11 here. O'd last cycle on CD 20, but hopeful it will be earlier this time around. I get mid-cycle spotting that was 8 days pre-o last cycle and showed this time around on CD 9 (versus CD 12) last time. FX for us all!

Is everyone temping and doing opks this month? I only ask because hubby and I just plan on bding from tmrw through expected o time and a couple more on the other side just in case it's late :haha: and also just monitoring cm. I kind want to have a few things up my sleeve if it doesn't happen easily after a few months?? We plan on keeping the romance alive Otherwise really would be just going at it like :bunny: :haha: :haha: :haha:

We tried your approach for two cycles and finally decided we weren't interested in the frustration of not knowing if our timing was right or not - or if I was even ovulating. We're both type-A's with high-stress, busy jobs and it's unrealistic for us to keep at it all month every month. I also read tons of stuff that made me think my mid-cycle spotting (or spot, actually - usually single observation on a single day) was directly related to ovulation and last cycle (first one with temping and OPKs) I discovered it was EIGHT DAYS before my actual ovulation. I also had been on Depo injections until 2011 and was on progesterone mini-pill for a year after that - hadn't had a cycle/ period in nearly a decade and wasn't even sure I was ovulating yet - so the temping and OPKs last cycle helped confirm that I do ovulate and that it's not coincident with my mid-cycle spot. Lots of women on here get pregnant without temping and OPKs, but if you're in a hurry to get pregnant and the good ole fashion way doesn't work after a cycle or two, I'd consider temping at a minimum, as it's the only way to be sure when and if you ovulate.

I have the Target generics - they are a little less than $10.00 for 20. The instructions for those are to use FMU. Since I get up at 5 AM to temp, I do it then and will be doing a second one at 5 PM for the next few days, since I know (from other signs) I'll be ovulating sometime in the next week or so.

I never got a *true* positive doing a schedule like yours last cycle, even though some women never get a true positive no matter what. I drink a lot of coffee (mostly decaff) and water throughout the day. It's impossible for me to hold it for four hours during waking hours! That may be why I never got one, so you might want to keep yours as a reference. I was only able to pin down what my positive was by looking at a group of them and seeing what the darkest one was of the series (didn't even start looking until I had the sustained temp shift). It's a pain-in-the-a** to do it that way, but better than no reference at all!

It's normal to have the massive shift you have during your period. The ones following that look similar to mine, and my temp shift is still very obvious (if you look at my Dec chart you can see what I mean).

I temp at 5 AM, because I rarely wake up earlier than that. On days when I don't have to get up that early, I just temp and roll over and go back to sleep. If you are going to experiment with vaginal temping, you should wait until you start a new cycle to do so (per FF the vag temps are always higher and it would skew your chart to change mid-cycle). Finishing this one with the oral temps will also let you know how significant your temp shift is and if it's enough to tell the difference pre- and post- O than you don't need to temp vaginally.

Thanks so much ClandestineTX for all the help!

I will have to check out Target for some more OPK's, that is a much better deal! I thought it would be best to wait till my next cycle to temp vaginally, but it would be great if I don't have to though if I get my BFP! I wish I was a more sound sleeper it would make temping so much simpler!

Seems really surreal seeing my name on the testing list seeing as its only our second month ttc and my first month telling anyone when I was planning on testing!

K x

Do we need to be ttc number 1 to be in here? I'm going o be testing on my due date 3rd feb after a chemical this month x x x x

Do OPK's results stay the same after the "10 min window"?

I'm thinking I could set my alarm for 3am take my temp, then poas (since I always have to go around that time and can't hold it till I get up for work) and go back to bed and check the results at 5:30 when I get up of work.

I would just hate to have to sit in the bathroom for up to 10 mins to get my test results... it will make falling back to sleep harder the longer I stay up. Would the results change color after an hour and a half and not be accurate?

That way when I get home at 3pm from work it will have been 12 hours cuz I think I like the idea of using an OPK every 12 to make sure I don't miss my window.

Hi there!

This is our first month TTC! My cycle is a bit crazy, so I'm really nervous to get started. Hopefully, we should be testing around 2/14.

Looking forward to following this thread with all of you!

My results have always stayed the same, but they do get darker (both the control and test lines) as they dry. Once mine have dried they stay the color and I've never had a negative suddenly appear positive. BTW the Target ones only require a 5 minute wait, which I've found to be OK to stay up to check.

That's not too bad, I may just take it back to bed with me let it finish on my nightstand so I don't have to stand in the bathroom.

I think I finally have my new routine figured out!! Thanks for the help!

My husband has it so easy! I know I don't HAVE to do all this stuff...but if it gets me my BFP faster it will be worth it!

Hi ladies!!! I am going to be testing the 6th and I was just wondering if anyone here has been to the fertility specialists? My DH and I have been trying for 7 months this month and the fertility specialists said we could see them and start testing. I had an ultra sound on CD4 and said my ovaries were fine, then I had an HSG test, which was a little painful, and they said my tubes are not twisted or blocked. Tomorrow my husband is getting a SA test done...I was just wondering if others have been through this and what they did next? Thanks ladies!!!

Ooh can I join? Put me down for the 6th please (give or take, but that should be close)! :dust:
