***January 2020 Testing Thread***

I've got a good positive feeling about this month for me. Don't think I've ovulated just yet, but DTD lots to make sure we don't miss it. DH and I have just been light and stress free about DTD and we are both quite enjoying our time together. Also, DH quit drinking energy drinks (he did the same when we conceived our other kids years ago). Ok and TMI here but his sperm had a weird scent before but now it doesn't really smell like anything. In December I went and got checked for BV/yeast infection but it was negative, so I know my body was not liking the sperm being in there. But over the last couple days I haven't noticed anything different. So I'm positive about this month. Sorry of that is gross, but wanted to share to see if anyone else had DH's who gave something up and you noticed a difference?

First off I'm sure there's no such thing as 'TMI' on this forum... :)

How lovely that you are having a good feeling for this cycle. For what it's worth, every time I had a good feeling about a cycle (as in, from before I even ovulated ) I got a BFP!

First time that happened was in October, I had been sure all along that the cycle would work and it did (though ended in MC), then this month I just had a good feeling from the beginning too (hence why I was so devastated to think I was out due to the spotting @9dpo) and look what happened :) all other months I was hopeful but didn't really have that 'sure' feeling. Weird, us women just have this crazy sense of intuition.

My guy and I have always been living a healthy lifestyle for the most part, so there was nothing in specific that he cut out and then it worked- buuut, we took it up a notch and cut out most sugars and carbs since last summer, and he also started taking men's vitamins a few months ago. We eat wayyyy healthier now compared to a year ago, and it's an amazing feeling to know that you are doing such good things for your body. So it's quite possible that all these things have contributed to me having conceived twice within 4 months!

BTW, I've cut out all sugars since the 1st of January (not even a small treat here or there), as well as had not had a drop of alcohol-- who knows if that helped me conceive this month!

Good thing your guy quit energy drinks! Those things are sooo full of sugar, and sugar is nothing but toxic to the body! :)

Thanks Pineberry! I've hated that he drink those things, I don't even like the smell of them. We already lead a pretty healthy lifestyle and are both healthy weights. So all I've really done differently since TTC is started taking a prenatal vitamin, I already don't smoke or drink. In the past we didn't have any trouble conceiving, but I was only 24-26 years old, now i'm almost 33. I know 33 isn't 'old' for TTC but things are different then they were.
DDS - 3rd cycle
DDD - 1st cycle
TTC - #4 cycle

Anyway, hopefully my positive attitude and good 'feeling' is what we need and it will be our month. Also, DH's parents are due to visit at Easter, we haven't seen them since the summer time and we would love to have an announcement for them! All our family thought we were done having kids (we thought so too for many years) so it's going to be a HUGE surprise for them and I can't wait haha.

Inverted just to check too. I think I can see a line but I know I want to see it so much that maybe I’m just making myself see something

@Pineberry Your diet sounds so clean..do you not have any treats? What would be a typical days eating for you?

Me and OH don't drink or smoke and we exercise moderately but our diet is too high in sugars I should think for sure..we don't drink fizzy drinks but we do eat ice-cream and things that contain sugar. Do you think that improving our diet would help, esp with our age.?

I recently had a blood test at the doctors and apparently everything was inside the normal ranges including my vitamin D so I must be doing something right but sugar is my vice.

Currently on the tww I’m at 11 dpo and feel like an emotional wreck today , not sure if that is pre men symptoms or not tww sucks!!!!!

I too enjoy my sugar. I drink the occasional fizzy drink (1-2 a week), but not sure I could give up sugar completely. If I want a small treat in the evening I will do so :) Moderation is what I live by lol.

Feeling frustrated.. no idea if I'm ovulating at all this month. Temp has been on a declining dip that ended yesterday but hasn't risen all that much today, and my OPKs have been useless.. ](*,) used cheapie ones this month and i wonder if they are no good!
I feel like this cycle is all wrong somehow

@Fitz2020 I can't see the line on the last test BUT sometimes they show better in person than on a pic! Good luck!

@Fitz2020 sorry I must have been typing when you posted! I was meaning your pic on previous page!

I defo see the line on that one! Congrats!!! Fx it keeps getting darker for you!

I love talking about health, foods and nutrition so I'm superhappy you asked me that question! :D

In the mornings I usually just drink a glass of water with Apple cider vinegar (which is amazing for detoxing and balancing out your body's pH levels) + lemon juice + ginger.

Since I do intermittent fasting (though I'm taking a break from that now that I'm pregnant), my first "meal" (not really meal) would be around 12pm / 1 pm after about 16-17 hours of fasting (IF is amazing, not just for weight loss but overall health and energy levels!) and consists of a small bowl of nuts (cashews, hazelnuts, almonds, really all sorts) + small piece of dark chocolate (the 95% cocoa kind with barely any sugar) + fruits like banana, a pear, & a mandarine

I then have a 500ml bottle of green tea mixed with chia seeds every day (can't recommend chia seeds enough - they're soooo good for our health)

In the evening after work I have a huge salad bowl of ALL kinds of different (mostly organic) vegetables - spinach, arugula, asparagus, eggs, avocado, etc. with sesame-/pumpkin-/sunflower seeds. So good and filling! Sometimes with beef steak or tuna. +

Now on the weekends we are more lenient and may prepare a cheat meal now and then, but most weekends we'll prepare meals like sweet potatoes + salmon + veggies

Also just wanna say - I'm not cutting out sugar entirely! Haha life's too short to miss out on birthday cakes or a donut here and there. I've only done it this month so see how i'd do (and because I wanted my cycle to be as healthy as possible), and surprisingly it's not been hard at all to not have any.

From next month on I think I'll have sugar again, but maybe just once a week or so.

Yes I do think decreasing sugar intake would improve your health greatly, and improving our health means improving our fertility :) I feel SO good not having had sugar for a month, like way healthier and more "sharp" somehow! You dont need to cut it out completely but I definitely dont recommend having it every day! I read that 24g should be the max. intake of sugar per day.

Ahh every time I talk about nutrition it gets way out of hand (as seen by this long ass post haha!)

Dont fret it love, maybe ovulation might be delayed by a few days but I looked at your chart and it looks like CD16 *might* have been O and you might be having a slow rise? Let's wait for a few more temps in the next days to see what's going on. I'm sure this cycle isn't all wrong :)

Thank you, you have certainly given me some things to think about. I have heard good things about fasting here and there but have always had such a big appetite that I wondered if I could ever do it. I think I will definitely try to cut down on sugary and unhealthy snacks though and try to loose a bit of weight in the process.. can’t hurt and could even help. Thanks again :)

@Pineberry I love how intermittent fasting is a thing now, I have never been a breakfast person, mum wasn't a breakfast person so would forget to feed us when we were younger lol she told us that around midday we'd start whinging and she'd go whoops you haven't eaten all day  so I think from that I just never got the hang of eating breakfast so even now it will get to 1/2pm at times and I'll suddenly realise i havent eaten all day. When we were first married everyone used to tell me how important breakfast is and it's the most important meal of the day and so on. My hubby then heard that if you don't eat breakfast you won't be able to lose weight because your body goes in panic mode and holds onto the weight (which I told him sounded ridiculous) But now 8 years on I have been learning about this intermittent fasting which apparently I've done all my life by accident

Just wanted to update for anyone still waiting to tests, tested at 7,8,9 DPO and say something yesterday at 9DPO but no one else could really see it. Tested again this morning at 10DPO and for a good positive I think. So don’t worry if you get negative early on, I was upset about not getting anything early on but it worked out. I know I’m still very early but I think defo pregnant. Attached pic for anyone wondering about line at 10DPO

Congrats I seen it yesterday but I’ve inspected so many lines :haha: I love seeing tests have to live through someone else now since I’m not allowed any more after this one!

Can I join? I am currently 3dpo. I have 4 children already but this would be my first with my new partner. I had a huge blood clot in my brain in sept 2018 which very nearly killed me. I'm now on blood thinners & anti seizure medication & b12 etc blah! I only am alive today thanks to my local air ambulance intubating me & the critical care team looking after me on life support. It's been a tough recovery & one that I'm not over by any means but I just feel like I should seize the moment as it can all be taken away in a split second. My twin sister has been a massive support to me & I think I've aged her alot in the last 18 months god I'm rambling on arent I.

Congrats fitz...I have been silently stalking ‍♀️ that's a great line
