April 2015 Rainbow Babies

Oh my! I haven't been on here for ages!

Dd went through the sleep regression phase too. Waking up 4-5 times a night. Yesterday was good because she only woke up once.
She had her first 2 injections. We're behind schedule because I was in hospital when the 1st was due.

Planning on introducing solids at six months too. A bit earlier if she shows any interest before. We'll do a mix of blw and puréed food. Depending on time and mood.

Babywearing here too. I first bought a mei tai, thinking I'd be useless at wrapping, but since I bought a size 4 and a size six wraps, and it's love! Only used the pram a handful of times and babywearing a lot in the house. She just loves it! She falls right asleep in it. She used to cry at first when I was tying the wrap but she is used to it now and gets all funny and excited when she sees me putting it on!

Hope you guys are all doing ok.

We're doing well. Had some bad nights recently, last night DD woke me up 6 times. Pretty sure she's going to do the same tonight. It's either a growth spurt or the start of teething, she's been very chewy.

My DS started pre school this week. He absolutely loves it but it's really weird being on my own with DD in the day. We've been to a couple of playgroups and it's been lovely having some proper one on one time.

It's the start of the school run for you!
I actually spent the whole of August trying and prepare for our new homeschool year. I still have some final touches to make to our planning and we should be done.
Dd is also very chewy and dribble all the time. I need to change her t-shirt all the time! Have to go and buy some teething gel and some sort of teething rings. What teething are good? (Used to buy one from France, but have to try the uk ones).

Mowat: I also get bad pain and my c-section hurts from time to time. No badly, but. I still can feel it pull inside. Really weird.

I don't remember any teething gels working particularly well with DS, anbesol liquid helped a bit. I bought a load of funky giraffe bibs so I don't have to change DDs top every five minutes.

That's interesting that you're home schooling, I have a couple of friends who are planning to home school. I think we have a good home school network in my area.

My SIL used clove oil with her daughter for teething, so I will have her mix up a batch of that when it gets time with Ella.

I think she might be teething or something.. She has been a bear lately.

My two are definitely teething and it's awful! I seem to remember the first two teeth being the worst and after that it's a much quicker period of horribleness!

Still working on napping---it's neverending. DS is mostly sleeping through the night and his first nap of the day is pretty predictable, but after that all bets are off. If he doesn't get enough sleep he's a nightmare by our dinner time. He really needs that third nap, but unless I can get him out in the stroller (which I can't usually because his brother is just home from school), he refuses to nap at home. DD is another story! Still waking at least twice a night and sometimes having a really hard time settling. Napping is hit or miss too. Her tired cues are impossible to read so I've started just putting her on her brother's schedule and letting her fuss/cry it out a bit. It's mostly working but I do feel a little guilty. But seriously, you're tired! Just sleep!

Sort of looking forward to starting solids next month, but I'll miss my role as their only food. It'll be nice to have a little break when we're out with their big brother and I can't feed them both at the same time. Thinking of the slow end of breastfeeding makes me weepy though! If I could donate milk forever I probably would! Such an old sap.

Wow yes, we'll be weaning next month! I've already put her in the highchair a couple of times to get her used to it and she throws all her toys on the floor so I have a pretty good idea of how it will go.

I am thinking about switching to formula soon. I am just over pumping..

I never got on with pumping, not sure I could do it full time. But then I breastfeed because I'm lazy!

I breastfeed because I'm lazy too---I can't stand all the cleaning involved with bottles!

Wow mowat you've got your hands full with these lo's.

Akn: I'll remember clover oil. Will ask the chemist.
I couldn't pump full time. Haven't pumped at all this time around. Hats off honestly.

Lo is defo teething. It's the baby to go through that many bibs a day!
Can't wait for next month and see her reaction to new tastes.

It's clove oil not clover :) Dunno if there is such thing as clover oil lol.

I only pump 3 times a day when I am at work, but it is so annoying. I am tired of it. I feel like a damn cow.

Silly autocorrect! Lol!

I would find it annoying too. Is it still possible you breastfeed Ella mornings and evenings?

Here ds2 just saw dd throwing herself onto the breast, and he said: 'see, I told you she was a maniac!!' Lol!

That's hilarious Ummi!

I'm finding the feeding styles of the two babies really hard to get my head around. Wilf feeds "normally". He eats when he is offered the breast and eats for a good amount of time (although I do have to cut him off sometimes). Harriet likes to eat a little, look around, decide she wants more, no not really. And then she wakes multiple times a night to eat! She drives me crazy!

Hi, keep meaning to come back and find out how everyone is but baby brain is against me? How are you getting on stillpraying?

I'm doing okay, getting the hang of having two babies. DD2 is a little delayed devolpmentally due to being preemie but she is catching up.
Had a bit of a scare cuz I haven't had AF since she was born and so I take a test once every other month or so to make sure I'm not pg and yesterday I got a bfp on a target brand (blue dye) well after readING up on them I followed up for a frer which came up bfn. But now I'm all paranoid and symptom spotting cuz we are NOT ttc right now!!!
Anyone have babies crawling yet?

Oh wow, that must have been a bit scary! No actual crawling yet. She can go round in circles and go backwards and she's learned to pull up to standing. I think she'll cruise before she crawls like my DS did. How's weaning going?

Button it sounds like she will be crawling soon or skip to walking lol Katie sits on her own and rolls, but thats it so im hoping therapy will help with the delays. are you doing baby led weaning? I intend to get to a year then taper off from there.

I've known a few babies who have only been able to sit and roll at Katie's age and they've all caught up and been fine so try not to worry too much. Yes I'm doing baby led weaning, she loves it. Are you doing baby led weaning as well?
